Fantastic list, but there is one important flaw: The names of the singers are not spelled out consistently. Sometimes it is Last name - First name (e.g. #29 and #12) while sometimes it is First name - Last name (e.g. #28 and #10). For those who are familiar with Japanese names it is not difficult to tell which is which pattern, but I believe most will get quite confused.
90s anime just felt more free and unrestricted. Openings like Driver’s High, Kimi ga Suki da to Sakebitai and Smile Bomb perfectly reflect that feeling.
I absolutely ring my praises to you for having it on this list- No one has any idea how underrated Yugioh Season 0 was in both the show itself and opening/ending music.
Loved seeing so many that were sang by Hayashibara Megumi. Great actor and singer in these series. Get Along and Breeze from Slayers and Slayers Try will always have a special place to me
OMG, I just realized almost all my favourite anime are 90's anime 😭😭 and I just watched all of these like 1-2 years ago when I was 12, but nostalgia still hits

As someone who 'found' anime in the 90s, this list is a blast from the past. I have so many of these songs downloaded 20 years ago and I know many more that I never had. Great list, someone knows their stuff.
10:55 El Op 1 de Slayers "Get Alone" de Masami Okui y Megumi Hayashibara es un temazo y si le sumas esa animación de los 90s, es toda obra maestra llena de nostalgia.
I found Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Kodocha in 2012 on the internet, they are nostalgic to me as I watched the shows at a very young age even though I was not born in the 90s
@@masteroffootball5828 I'd argue that changed for the better actually. With web manga being a bigger thing by now and them also getting adaptions (Mob Psycho 100 for example), getting your ideas out has become a lot more accessible. Sure that ends up with an oversaturation on content too, but you can't deny that a lot of creative people writing great stories are among those masses. Those will always exist. In the 80s and 90s there's a lot of manga and anime that sucked so much that nobody talks about them anymore, so it gives a false perception because people only talk about the classics that stood the test of time

Its so nice to be young again. Some of the 90s anime opening are sooo much better than openings of modern animes. Flame of Recca, monster farm, fushigi yuugi, digimon, card card captor sakura, gundam wing, yuyu hakusho, With the old technology available to them those days, cant believe how the creators took too much time to create such beatiful, full of action, and theme centered openings

The n.1 became my favorite band and singer (BôA/Jasmine Rodgers) ever since. Watched Serial Experience Lain when I was 12 yrs old. Now I'm 30, and still listening to this heartbreak song.
Random, but thank you for putting Butter-Fly so high up! My favorite childhood memory was watching Digimon all day long and it seems it doesn't get as much respect as it deserves.
TBH most of the anime in the 90s really still looks better than today and my only complaint is they have filler. Thanks for placing Cowboy Bebop in top 2.
@@shuichikurama1760 Oh boy, i belive 90's anime had awesome fillers, much more interesting than modern fillers. Sailor Moon consists of fillers, but they are the reason why 90's Sailor Moon is better than Sailor Moon Crystal. Because it feels like a fun episodical story. As for Yu Yu Hakusho, they've even cut a lot of the Yusuke's adventures as a ghost from the manga in the anime.
@@KeyleeTamirian Oh, 90s Sailor Moon is one of those exceptions; it's great, no question about that. I guess I compare that with a lot of them that I feel that they ain't as good.
@@shuichikurama1760 Let's not forget Dragon Ball Z that had amazing fillers such as Gohan meeting the Old Robot in one of first epsidoes, Goku and Piccolo's driving lessons, and Underworld Tournament. ...As well as boring filler that is Garlic Jr... ugh...

As the same Japanese, I am proud that Japanese animation spreads to the world in this way. And I also think it would be great if I could bring out the story in my brain and make someone feel proud in the same way.
90s anime aesthetics are still unbeatable! I was going to mention several omissions on your part, but when I went to check, my picks were either 1989 or 2000, so they don't qualify for this video lol But I still got some: *Red Baron* "Tatakae! Shit, I know people say that people that claim anime from the 90's is the best just doesn't want to let go of the past. But the 90's gave us DBZ, YUYU HAKUSHO, COWBOYBEBOP, SLAM DUNK, RANMA1/2, TRIGUN, EVANGELION, BERSERK and the list goes on. It is actually very difficult not to claim that anime for the 90's is the best, the argument to support that claim is right there.
Holy shit did I watch a lot of anime in the 90s. This list didn't even have MAZE or Bakuretsu Hunters, two 90s anime I don't remember being very good but they had kickass OPs. Great list, stoked a lot of nostalgia, thanks for all the hard work!
Great video. Some idiot made a top 200 anime openings ever clickbait video and included 1 of these 100 openings. So many all time great openings in your video...just goes to show how many good openings (and series) there were in the 90s.

I was born in the year 2000 and 90s anime has a special place in my heart. I grew up watching anime a lot and I honestly believe that nothing could top 90s-early 2000s anime. When my friends would find new anime or being hyped on waiting for new seasonal anime, I would go to the internet to find old anime to watch because that's just my thing and it still is to this day. I'm honestly glad that I was born just in time to witness the big three,Slam Dunk, dragon ball z,initial d,prince of tennis and many others.

Man Berserk, NGE, Trigun, Bebop. Just fucking punch me right in the feels. Grasses ON
Back when I was innocent, this world changed me so much..
Zorain know that feeling now all I want is to die
That's so real. I felt that 8'(
Oof right in the heart
@@99JMAB whats wrong with your live?
The world can change us only if we let this happen.
The sheer nostalgic feeling when hearing these songs.....😄👍🏻 Thank you so much for posting this vid....
Yu Yu Hakusho
Ranma 1/2
Fushigi Yuugi
Rekka no honno
Dragon Ball

Loved seeing so many that were sang by Hayashibara Megumi. Great actor and singer in these series. Get Along and Breeze from Slayers and Slayers Try will always have a special place to me
She made so so many unforgettable anime songs!
OMG, I just realized almost all my favourite anime are 90's anime 😭😭 and I just watched all of these like 1-2 years ago when I was 12, but nostalgia still hits
❤
Youre on the right path padawan! Keep watching the old stuff
Oh my, old times.

As someone who 'found' anime in the 90s, this list is a blast from the past. I have so many of these songs downloaded 20 years ago and I know many more that I never had. Great list, someone knows their stuff.
*Golden Boy #69* Nice
xD
Za Warubro I was going to say the same
Came to comment this as well.

@@pigpin Thank you, that made my day.
yu yu hakusho is the best anime
The last 10 were basically the culmination of my childhood. Every single one of those shows man. I miss the good days.

El Op 1 de Slayers "Get Alone" de Masami Okui y Megumi Hayashibara es un temazo y si le sumas esa animación de los 90s, es toda obra maestra llena de nostalgia.
I just love your list. Made me emotional. Brings back memories of the good times.
So many openings I haven't seen in ages!! Blue Seed, Lain, and Vampire Princess Miyu?!? TOTAL COOLNESS!!! 👍📺🎶😂
Yu Yu hakusho should be number 1# but a great top 100 ainme of 90s none the less bring back some great moments
im sorry but lain op> yu yu hakusho op
Golden Boy's placement is exactly where it needs to be ;} Also, thank you for compiling this. Brings back a lot of childhood great memories!
I found Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Kodocha in 2012 on the internet, they are nostalgic to me as I watched the shows at a very young age even though I was not born in the 90s
Same ahah I was very much into shoujo I also watched around 2011/2012
So happy to see Just Communication up so high. God, that opening is good.
Anime from the 80s, 90s and 2000-2012 seems to have far more attention to story and originality in general than modern stuff
Actually since 2010, anime went straight to hell.
@@yutokigai7838 I think there's no good mangaka at this time, but it will in the future
@@masteroffootball5828 I don't know since I haven't read too much Mangas. But I do know that there isn't any good animes anymore in Today's era.
@@yutokigai7838 most anime is based on manga, what they lack now is author's idea

I'm glad you included Flame of Recca.❤🔥

this alone, would prove that 90's kids are the most culturally informed of all the millenials..
80s are the most cuturally informed. Proved itself, since the 90s were borning in this time. And we 80s, already getting all of this Age. Now, talking about the Rock-Pop, far, very far we win this. Even 60s and 70s win! The best Rock'and'roll Era

You mean anime these days?
That can only copy-paste SAO concept (Isekai and Harem)
@@taichiyagami7603 I mean, .Hack took the another video game world concept years before SAO did, but I guess these days SAO is much more widely known. Harem though... that's just laziness imo

Who want to make anime for free?
Thank you, Thank you for the memories and feelings. Have to be honest a few of these songs hit me hard and teared up a little bit at some of the memories of these anime. Really good list.
Its so nice to be young again. Some of the 90s anime opening are sooo much better than openings of modern animes.
Flame of Recca, monster farm, fushigi yuugi, digimon, card card captor sakura, gundam wing, yuyu hakusho,
With the old technology available to them those days, cant believe how the creators took too much time to create such beatiful, full of action, and theme centered openings
Jesus Christ, you didn`t miss anything from my childhood. You covered everything, amazing !!! Even Bucky was not missed either and this video added 4 animes on my list to watch: Kimagure Orange Road, Those Who Hunt Elves (Dub), Slayers Try (Dub), and Saber Marionette J (Dub)

Wow, this list is the best! I also watched most of the animes in this list. But wow im surprised to see Count D here. I rarely met people know about the OVA. Amazing collection! Thank you very much!
I feel so old damn ! The nostalgia hit me so hard !
So happy to see kodomo no omocha on this list. This show deserves more recognition ;)
Agreed
Kodomo no omocha is one of my most favourite anime and manga of all time. Sana is such a strong and fun protagonist.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so
Random, but thank you for putting Butter-Fly so high up! My favorite childhood memory was watching Digimon all day long and it seems it doesn't get as much respect as it deserves.
I love digimon 1,2,3.. and i am digimon games fan
Of course it doesn't. Most people in the west only know the crappy US Opening
15:13 - AHHHHHHHHHH my childhood
same. the beat itself was the best of all.
13:28 Ranma 1/2 OP 2, probably one of my all time fav openings!
TBH most of the anime in the 90s really still looks better than today and my only complaint is they have filler.
Thanks for placing Cowboy Bebop in top 2.
It's mostly because back than everything was hand painted vs computer.
That's why my fave is Yu Yu Hakusho because it does not have any fillers.
@@shuichikurama1760 Let's not forget Dragon Ball Z that had amazing fillers such as Gohan meeting the Old Robot in one of first epsidoes, Goku and Piccolo's driving lessons, and Underworld Tournament. ...As well as boring filler that is Garlic Jr... ugh...
1. I still know Sobakasu's lyrics by heart
2. Watching "Ohayou" still makes me tear a bit

Thank your for making this video. A lot of anime I never finished and forgot about .
As the same Japanese, I am proud that Japanese animation spreads to the world in this way. And I also think it would be great if I could bring out the story in my brain and make someone feel proud in the same way.

I came into this being like "Which one will be #1? Lain or Bebop?" Spot on. Yoko Kanno and Boa all the way home.
Ficou ótimo, espero que haja um vídeo de 2010-2019 também :)

I miss those times. So many great memories. 90s anime is best anime.
