- This request by one of my patrons is a real blast from the past. Released 35 years ago in 1984 it became Van Halens most successful single and an all-time classic. I have played the song a few times live in the last 30 years, but never took the time to actually write it down. Now I had the oppurtunity and luckily I found an isolated bass track on UA-cam to transcribe from. Listening to Michael Anthonys original bassline revealed some cool fills, which are barely audible in the full band mix.
