I take my test tomorrow ( second time) I didn't know there were videos and books. Im gonna cram as much as i can tonight
Good luck on your test tomorrow! Cramming can be intense, but you've got this. Make the most of those videos and books, and remember to take breaks to keep your mind fresh. You've got the resilience to tackle it the second time around!

Update: after watching this video the morning if the test, I was able to pass the exam. My issue the first time was that I ran out if time and did not have time to complete the short answer questions. The second time, I flew through the multiple choice and had almost 45 minutes for the short answers. The way you explain how to word your answers is what helped me score high. Thank you so much! The study guide provided was useless to me and so boring to comprehend, but your explanation of it saved me money, time and my license! TY again!!
Again, this is an awesome video for learning about the test but also learning how to teach analyzing essay questions & essay writing to adult students which is who I teach at the adult school I work for. But, I also do high school since many high school students are allowed to enroll too and many struggle w/ essay writing and I'm trying to figure out how to break up this process in a clear step by step way or in chunks...
Your guides that you show get me thinking about doing something similar w/ anchor charts to help support high schoolers, do you think that might help and do you have other suggestions about such materials to help?

hi Kathleen! I love your videos for task 2 I choose morphemic/ structural analysis. I wrote this is having students break apart words into sufixes and prefixes. This will help struggling students and EL's as well as those on an above grade level who maybe exposed to new unfamiliar words. do you this that would work? thanks

I just got my test scores back from the 5205 test and I failed.. However, I am a bit confused . It was 90 multiple choice questions but only 78 questions that was scored… then it was the CR section that was worth 18 points . Are 12 questions on the test not scored ?
They omit questions if they don’t show up properly or something like that. In the practice test, it gives the reason why some questions may be omitted from the actual test.

If they ask for ONE strategy and you use more than one for the response. Is that doing more harm to your score than good?
It won't hurt you. But you want to be careful that you don't do too much where your essay is disorganized. I would stick to what they ask for. Sometimes you have to reference other things and that's ok. But try to keep it simple. Thanks for watching!

For the constructed response- we are just describing methods in which we would use to assist learners in addressing the specific scenarios? There is no activity or implementation listed as you would do in a lesson plan? For example, above you state reinforcing CVC words but do not specifically mention how you would teach this or mention any type of activity. I think this is where I am getting confused on how to tackle these constructed responses.
Typically, you are given a scenario with students who are struggling. You then pick 1-2 interventions, depending on the task. Sometimes, it will ask you to choose one or two. So, you name the intervention. For example, "I will work with students on consonant-vowel patterns or CVC words." Then, you describe why this is helpful or the rationale. For example, "This will help students identify CVC words as they read and will strengthen their phonics skills. They can then use these skills to build towards more complex decoding skills."
It does not have to be complex. Simply name the intervention, describe it briefly, and say why it is helpful. Remember, the constructed response will pull from all 5 exam areas. It could be on phonemic awareness/phonological awareness, phonics, fluency & vocab, comprehension, or writing.
