New Family Dream made the vital mistake of putting their memory foam mattress on a flat wooden surface, and well... can anyone say RV Mold???
Yep thats right. Watch this video whether you live in a home, RV, Boat, Plane, really anywhere, if you own a Memory foam mattress.
Hopefully you wont make the same mistake New Family dream did. Spoiler alert!!! Their Mistake cost them their mattress!
No bueno on losing the memory foam mattress completely. Way to spot the mold source before more months went by. Your family is so awesome for sharing your experience with this complication to help others now and in future! I showed my sister this video seeing as she just got a purple mattress last weekend. She is reading all of Purple's care instructions more thoroughly to ensure it will be properly protected and stay within the company's warranty guidelines. She wasn't aware of aspect of keeping the memory foam mattress directly off a flat wood bed base and maintaining a barrier between the mattress and the bed base. Myself as well. So you taught us something about this mattress type that we were totally not aware of. :) :)
April Carter we were definitely a little embarrassed to share this one just bc it is a bit personal and gross. But one of our things is as we learn we share. We figured there must be others out there, like us, who just simply don’t read directions 🤣 we are so glad you all learned something from this video. That was the reason for sharing it! Question, did you have it get wet, like spot cleaned a spot or how did it get wet in your case? We literally just bought one, maybe two weeks ago, night one our grand daughter christened it! Diaper change in the middle of the night! We ripped the sheets off immediately, but was on the mattress, we put a towel on and a new sheet and went back to sleep. I just went to change sheets and saw the stain, used Denver mattress cleaner..... it’s damp, not soaked, but I’m worried now!!!!
A good waterproof/water resistant mattress protector should of also helped out a lot 😉

Yep! Just threw ours out last night. I already have developed discoid lupus from black mold. Kept thinking I was having a flare up but took the cover off of my memory foam mattress last night and found a bunch of black mold and green mildew! My advice to anyone living in the Florida Keys is to avoid these mattresses because we have a huge amount of humidity. Black mold has destroyed my life! It is very dangerous!
Do you have to wear protective gear when you clean it ?
What are the ways to make the platform breathable? I’m about to put one in my RV.
So let me get this right sorry, so your going to make the same mistake a third time after you've already replaced two memory foam mattress and not made the right breather holes or replace the wood completely with slats??? Why aren't you learning your lesson?

just a suggestion., get rid of the plywood platform and replace with slats of some sort.
