Perlesmith TV Wall Mount Unboxing, Install Tutorial, & Review

- In today's video I'm mounting my TV on this Perlesmith wall mount (PSMFK1) I purposely bought it because it looks too small and weak to hold a 50 inch tv, but it says it'll hold a tv 26-55in. Once I mounted it, I was surprised how strong it is, and securely it holds my tv. I was disappointed to see how much it doesn't tilt down. Also, the Velcro straps that come with it to help tie up the wires aren't big enough to wrap around the arms too to hold the cables up.
Overall, I'm happy with this mount, its very secure, and the adjustability that it does have is really useful. This will be something great to watch for around Black Friday, or maybe even a Christmas Gift idea.
Let me know if you have any questions, or recommendations for my next video.

clear cut instructions. couldn’t have done it without you! thanks man
So glad my video helped!
Thanks Grant!!!! Pure Legend you are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@arnoldasmarkvaldas8 hey, thanks!
Grant
Thank you for taking the time for a great video. I will know how it works after I get my tv. Great job!
Thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial! It was super helpful. I plan on setting mine up tomorrow with the help of my husband!
Awesome! I actually used my video to remember how to do it when I moved and put it up in my new house
Thank you ! Hubby & I did it together with your help. When we opened the box, we had our doubts
That's awesome I'm happy for you guys I'm really glad that my video helped
Well done! Unfortunately the biggest hassle was attaching the wings on the bracket that attached directly to the tv. I have a 55” Samsung which is the largest tv for this mount and I had to use 2 of the thick spacers along with two of the small spacers for each screw but it worked and with my Son’s help we got it up on the wall, thanks again for your video.
I'm glad you got it up. I hope the video was helpful. Getting help to mount it is the best way to go for sure. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the tip! (using extra spacers) bc I am my husband are about to tackle this with the same TV.
same here lol i had to figure the screw/spacer thing out
Thanks for the guidance. Really helpful 👌
@@dawnieb72 I'm so glad my video was helpful!
Thanks for the instructions
Glad I could help!
Thank you I needed this
I'm glad it helped!
Very helpful. Most definitely need 2 people.
Yeah, it was a little sketchy trying to do it myself 😅
Thank you so much!
Glad you found the video and it helped
Do you need a stud finder for mounting on a solid brick wall, thanks for your help take care.
No, you can use the plastic anchors into the brick wall
what size drill bit and screw is good enough? my screws wont go all the way through the stud in the wall
Make sure you watch the whole video: 9:54
I just used the ones that came with it. I think it took a 13/32 inch drive socket.
Hey buddy do you know if it comes with screws to attach the mount base to the TV? I do not have mine smh
It depends on your TV. There were extra screws, but every TV uses different ones. The ones it has should work? But depending on your TV it might not.
Is it possible to have it pushed in at top so it's only 3 inches off wall at both bottom and top?
Yes, you can tilt it up or down, or just have it parallel with the wall
My leveling bolt is tightened all the way but the tv still goes off level every time I move it in and out of the wall. I can see the tv swiveling at that point where the leveling bolt is. Any ideas for how to fix that?
How often do you move your TV? Maybe try lock tight? Honestly there's a lot of leverage on the ends of your TV to that one bolt so it's not likely you'll be able to get it more secure. You'll just have to re-level every time you move the TV.
That's an easy job to put in a socket behind the TV cut in a double fastafix box in the plasterboard straight above your socket then fish a cable down the wall from fastafix to socket
If it wasn't an apartment, I totally would have!
can you rotate it 90 degrees because i want to use it but i want to be able to have it fully rotated
So the mount doesn't swivel? But you can just mount it sideways.
A bit confused for how to know if I am drilling right areas for the mount. So far this has been the best most helpful video but I'm a bit confused on the drilling.
So my stud finder didn't quite work, but at 11:30 in the video I end up drilling a bunch of small holes in the wall moving side-ways until I hit wood (marking where I first hit wood). Then I kept going until there wasn't wood anymore (and marking there too). You want your screws to go in the middle of those two marks.
Does that make sense?
Don't hesitate to ask more questions, I'm happy to try to help.
Just curious to know, what screws am I using to screw the mount to my tv? It fits perfectly without the arms, but the screws don’t fit down. Do I use the spacers? If so do they go on to the screw before I drill them down?
It's been so long, I don't remember exactly.
You only install spacers so that the back is flat incase the back of your TV is curved or has uneven steps in it.
Thank you so much!
@Susan McAvoy I think I had to go to the hardware store to get screws that were long enough for the back of my screen.
Love the simple step by step and great honest review. T Y
I'm glad you appreciated it. That's what I aim for. Thanks for watching!
Could u please tell or show me how close it turns to 90°? I ordered a wall mount a few months ago and mine doesn’t turn enough to reach my bed. So I just bought this in hopes that it will turn enough. Thanks man.
How big is your tv?
@@GrantButler 55
@@Motorman3538 that screen is too big to turn totally 90°
What’s a 5 30 second drill bit?
It's an drill bit that is 5/32nds of an inch thick
Great review and we share the same last name my friend
It's a pretty good last name isn't it.
Do people ask you if there's 2 t's in it too? 😅
@@GrantButler yes 🤣🤣
Can you tell me what knife that is you used to open the package?
Spyderco Tenacious

I can't find it in amazon
Thanks for the heads up. The link changed

Is not that one
My mount isn't tilting for some reason... it will swivel, just no tilting motion
Did you loosen the screws on the side where it tilts?
@@GrantButler yeah I just did that right after I sent the comment. Reading the FAQ booklet should have been my 1st move 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
there aint no 13/32nd inch wrench in my tools box. 13x .030"=.390" divided by .03936=9.908mm I utilized a 10 mm wrench.
Oh perfect
None of these screws that came with my Mount. Fit in the back of tv. The largest long ones do… but too long. The short ones of largest aren’t long enough. And the washers won’t fit if they are the larger screws
The spacers in pack B or C should be able to combine to make it so you can use those screws.
not really helpful since you didn't need the arms, that is the tricky part.
@Ruthlipsitz1 I'm sorry I thought I covered it pretty well even though I didn't use them.
