So many ways to SAY YES in English!

- I will teach you 26 ways to say “YES” in English! Not all ways of saying “yes” are equally strong in English. In fact, sometimes, when we say yes, we really mean no! How confusing! Due to the constraints of politeness, we are often forced to agree to something we disagree with. In this lesson, I will teach you all the different ways of saying yes in English. You will learn how to tell the difference between a strong and certain “yes”, a neutral “yes”, and even a reluctant, passive aggressive “yes”. You should always say what you mean and mean what you say, but when that is impossible, try some of these different ways of agreeing even when you disagree! Test your new skills with the quiz at www.engvid.com/so-many-ways-t...

I enjoy your lessons because you manage to tell us what's behind the words. You're a smart and sensitive person. Thank you.
Hi Jade, I´ve heard that in wartime communication, "Roger" came to represent "R" when spelling out a word. "R" is the first letter in "received", used to acknowledge understanding a message. This spread to civilian usage as "ROGER" replaced "received" in spoken usage in air traffic radio. Thanks for your class, excellent.
This video really useful like others from Jade and EngVid teachers. The information that I've got from this video helping me not to answer only "Yes" to somebody's questions. It's fabulous
I like that you kept the eye contact thingy throughout the years, it's really nice, gives a nice touch of care to the things you are telling. You are amazing, keep it up!!
Brilliant lesson, Jade. I have been watching this lesson for more than five times just to understand the whole context and digesting it gradually. 👍💖
You are the best Teacher. I love the way you speak slowly and Pretty awesome articulation of rules to use most of the time.
Thanks for your Video very helpful!
Great lesson, thank you so much !!
Great lesson. Thank you, Jade
Thanks alot! The reason, I'm here for: to improove my english!
German, with strong bonds to the english-spoken world.
2 more ideas for a "yes" from my side would be: "I'm okay with that" or, more enthusiastic: "I'm totally okay with that".
Or is that just me?
About the party and the beer: there is this wonderful story about prof. Nigel Kennedy, wanting to get into a concert hall.
To play. But the doorman didn't know him: "You're a punk. Why do you want go get in here?" "I'm the violinist. It's my show!"
He wasn't let in. (At least: it took some further effort.)
Maybe someone else knows more details? I'd really love to know!
Greetings from the far north of Germany!
She has a sweet voice. her style for speaking and technique for teaching is very attractive as well. I clearly understood her speech because she taught in a slow way.

Roger is still used when communicating with handheld radios as in security police or military situations in the north Atlantic archipelago.and internationally👍😃
I liked this word,"I'll see what I can do"
Needing the following yes to be available for you.
Is 7:03 onwards "based on a true story"? It sure looks like it! Ughhhhh That bar tender!
Jane, you definitely have a problem with beer. Cheers 🍻
Very interesting funny situations, I enjoyed the video.
Ale
Thank you from the heart. You are beautiful, your voice is beautiful, and your style is wonderful. But please, we only want to learn British. Americans did not speak English until a while ago. As for you, it is your native language.
Can someone help me figure out where Live Abuse Free's accent is from? I think she said south England but I'm not sure. Thanks.
My favorite way is to not say anything yet still do the thing because who else is gonna.

Thanks for the effort.
Btw. I guess u forgot to mention the most obvious YES! of it all.. which is simply saying (OK!).
L s ok probably doesn't mean yes. Ok means it's not bad and it's not good at the same time
Not necessarily, no. Neither most of the words/phrases she mentioned on the board. A neutral yes if u may. It could go either way.
7:13 here and further my favourite part of the video
Superb
❤❤Wow good job mummy 🎉🎉🎉🎉
In American English, "by all means" is usually a weird response to "can I take the chair?". Its a situationally appropriate response. How many ways is there and how much resource do you need for the menial task of taking a chair? It makes more sense as a response to "should we execute the business deal?" or "should I go the party?".
Thanks beauty
This video is so helpful. Luv you sissy 😘
Anyway, that "well, duh!" was quite rude, so I won't use it. 🙈😁
Anita Hidayah ‘well duh’ is very rude, don’t use it lol only use it with close friends who understand your jokes/jibes not general public or people who you just met oh god no
Indonesian, ain't you ? So am I ? It's just chufeed to see indonesians here
i like you teacher .

Teacher you are so beautiful I like your accent very much when I hear you I feel very happy

Affirmative
11:03 I laughed more than I should have, her acting is really good. What an amazing video.
Uh huh 😊- we also use this in Pashto language 😊😊...
Teacher Jade, I’d like your autograph please! 😂👍 Hi from Vietnam 🤗🇻🇳
I'd rather like to have some beers with her. Shall I open a bar somewhere near Kings-Cross? 😂😂😂
Hell ya!
Ohhhh... I missed you.... ❤
A-firm!
In my experience English people tend to be more direct when saying yes or no then Irish people when speaking English while the Germans are most direct when speaking
English 👍😃
Pertamax
8:57,haha, what a bummer! That story tells us that everyone should be polite to everyone, even Jade! 😂😂😂 Had she been more polite that morrow, one of her biggest fans might have gotten her that VIP wristband, right? 😝😝😝
Let's play it by ear does NOT mean no in Australia it means that you are going decide what you are going to do later. Example
"What time should I pick my children up"
"Let's play it by ear"
(I'll tell you later when they want to be picked up)
blood phoenix541 yeah it doesn’t mean no in England as well, your explanation perfectly explains how you would use it. I have never said it to mean no. I only say it to mean that I am unsure right now but we’ll figure it out as we go along or later. I am confused by what she means...
❤️
You get good accent my dear
Do you make your videos at a youtube studio?
26 manners to display.
After the autographs you go to the UA-cam studios to drink champagne
