Good topic. I agree with that there are many ways of saying sorry to someone. Being sorry is about kindness. I've known many things from here. I think responsible people often say sorry to someone. They know their responsibilities and work on them. If u feel sorry to me i woild hug. Just telling "sorry" shows up that you are not a real sorry. That makes sence in my opinion. Thanks BBC♡
It might be a faux pas for a public figure if they say something sarcastic in public. You might have to pay a fine, and you will never be able to draw a line under it. So, if you are a public figure, remember to say it with a caveat because then you don't have to take full responsibility
Lyrics of a song by a famous teenager pop rock music singer and his band here in Brazil. Lover of poetic books to inspire his songs, he was inspired by a chapter from the bible. "Even if I speak the language of men and speak the language of angels without love I would be nothing. The love is good, the love is good, does not want the evil and is not envious. Now I see it in part, but soon will see it (Jesus) face to face. It's just the love, it's just the love, that knows what is trueeee." 🎶🎻🎶🎻🎶🎻
Thanks BBC My summary while listening There are many ways of saying sorry in English and they all have slightly different meanings. Today's program discusses ways of saying sorry since they can be confusing to use sometimes. According to Louise Mullany, a professor of sociolinguistics, she was really interested in how people apologize, particularly public figures so she did a lot of research in the workplace, looking at the media and politicians in particular. One thing that really interested her at the time was that many writers stated that we entered the age of an apology. For example, many politicians are called upon to apologize and if they don't, it will be a big faux pas. Also, Professor Mullany analyzed the apology. Boris Johnson claimed that he didn't know that he was breaking the rules. His apology contained a caveat. Eventually, many people didn't trust him anymore and he couldn't draw a line under the Partygate scandal.
This video discusses two types of people who most likely need to say sorry frequently. The first category is public figures who did something wrong or made a faux pas. The second category is those who works in politics. In a nutshell, they are all celebrities and politician. The right way to say sorry is to apologize in a sincere and authentic way but not in a sarcastic or offhand manner. If someone makes an apology without knowing their mistakes, the apology will just justify for their faults and they will only receive more criticism but not draw the line under the problem. I need to add the caveat to this comment that perhaps there are some misunderstandings so you shouldn’t blindly believe this.
I really appreciate it😊❤ thank you for sharing this kinds of contents. I'm learning a lot from your podcasts. It's helping me to develop my listening skills and my knowledge as well😊❤

Oh so according to a survey, the average Brits say sorry 8 times per day. But when it comes to public figures, will this be the norm? The answer can be no as apologizing can be faux pas for them and the public often demand a definitely sincere apology.😂
Although Apologizing press conferences are often held due to causing problems, sometimes sincere apologies can not be found. In such case, maybe it is just for making angry people calm by showing fake apologizing attitude.
