ellebellx14 I mean I think we all go tisk tisk for biting your nails lol. But it is our job as a nail tech to fix it and that’s what you are there to see us for. I don’t see why shame your client and make them feel like they aren’t as welcome to come is as a client who isn’t a nail biter. And it’s actually a fun challenge sometimes. And the results are so worth it!

ellebellx14 I was a nail biter as long as I can remember. I became a Nail Tech 15 years ago. I started using acrylic to stop my habit, but found that I still bit through the acrylic just to hear them crunch. It took quite a few nails and acrylic to overcome by biting habit, but I have stopped. I occasionally bite only one. My right hand index finger. I usually just pick, but end up biting it off. I have never shamed any of my nail biter clients. I always tell them my story, because I can relate to them. Most of my clients have been with me throughout my career.

However if I did, I’d have finished just to get my nail tech license. Oh well, but .kim, you’re definitely young enough. I say go for it!

How I quit nail biting: 1) get a mini nail clipper and put it on your key chain. Carry it in your pocket all day. 2) when you have the urge to bite (i.e. you break a nail, nail flakes, or you MUST bite) clip the nail instead. It took me several months to quit, but my TMJ thanked me. Its been 20 years and I still don't bite my nails.

I don’t feel so alone in my workd of motion sickness now! Suzi, let me tell you i keep barf bags in my car because unless im driving (and even sometimes when im driving) i will get very sick. Even watching things on my phone while movements are going on around me can trigger my motion sickness. So i am also very sensitive that way! The biggest issue for me is even if i remove myself from whatever is making me woozy the vertigo will remain for quite sometime. It totally sucks! Dramamine has got nothin’ on me! 😂. Nails look gorgeous as always and i was happy to see your still wearing the steam punk mani! So beautiful 😍
I was waiting for you to describe some nails as "chicklets"! That's what we used to call our nails that didn't quite come out the way we wanted. Do the young ones know what we are talking about when we call them that? I haven't seen that gum in ages! Lol
It was a kind of gum. They had a kinda thick,square shape. That's why we use the term to describe a nail that isn't too great. Growing up you could find them everywhere but, now they are pretty much gone.
I wish we had more non Asian nail places locally in my area. It's hard to explain what I want, especially after watching so many exciting and gorgeous sets you do suzie
The only thing I don’t like about hand filing is when they don’t hold hand properly and my finger is shacking and gets nicked by the edge of a sharp file.
As a nail biter. I got acrylics for like a month to stop the initial need to bite them. Then a slowly started to break the habit with a few relapses every month or so. Then every few months. Now it’s about every six-ish months. And it’s been a year and a half since I got those first acrylics. And now when I relapse and bite then. I really don’t like it. And it feels weird and looks weird
Loved seeing some fundamentals with the natural/ombre nails... AND running of the goats?! Oh I would be all about seeing that!! Nice nails, watching adorable animals...it's the little things in life! 😂💙💅🐐
