    "I am not ambidextrous, I can barely say the word." God, thank you for Suzie, the Queen of the Beautiful People club. And thank you so much for discrediting the 'one-bead method', it drives me crazy when other techs focus on making one giant bead and moving faster to get the client out of there instead of the shape and smoothness of the nail.

    Hi Suzie
    Ive been doing my nails for about a year now I do them in gel and when I was Christmas shopping yesterday I got my first complement on how beautiful my nails look and had I just had them done for Christmas, when I said oh no I do them myself she grabbed my hand and said oh my do you really I laughed and said yes I actually just filled them yesterday she then grabbed both of my hands and was intensely looking at them and was amazed at how "professional" they looked ☺
    I thanked her and told her she had made my day
    So all my hard work has paid off

    It’s good to know that professional nail techs still have trouble with their opposite hands, everything always seems so crisp and clean here on UA-cam also I LOVE HOW YOU COMMENTED ON THE ONE BEAD APPLICATION ITS SO STRESSFUL WHEN YOU’RE JUST STARTING OUT AND YOU SEE ALL THESE PEOPLE DOING THEIR TUTORIALS FAST AND IN ONE BEAD, like its can be majorly discouraging sometimes also sorry for the influx of caps but as I was saying it’s refreshing to hear that no body is the perfect nail tech, so thank you.

    As someone who has been doing their own acrylic nails for over 15 yrs, thank you for this video!! I still have issues, but I've come a long way for sure! Proper techniques along with tools (brushes, files, e-file) & products (monomer & powder) & practice has helped! I'm not licensed & only do my own nails. I notice imperfections all the time which is the only downfall besides how much time it still takes me, however, everyone who knows or finds out I'm my own nail tech are all amazed at my work & say how I do an awesome job on them! 😁😁

      Some highschool allow you to do aprentiships as part of your school load, you would do your apprenticeship instead if one of your subjects. I think you can do it starting in grade 9 or 10. A friend of mine did that to become a hairdresser. You should look into that! Google "Australian School-Based Apprenticeships" for more info. Would be worth talking to your principle about it if it's not something your school is currently offering!

    I've been doing nail art for years after taking a nail tech class 20 years ago. I dropped out so no license. Wish I would've finished. Acrylics were horrible smelling and just hard to work with for me. I saw videos on hard gel and knew that was for me. Time to shape and easier filing were exactly what I needed.
    For the last year I've been practicing with hard gel overlays and extensions both on myself and my friends. My e-file has been a godsend!I now get little to no lifting on my nails or my friends'! I get comments on my nails daily and my friends do,too, and your videos are the reason why! I'm ready to practice acrylics again,too, as I now feel I have the knowledge to get that application right this time around.
    Your calm demeanor and detailed instruction is exactly what teaches people the technique....school teaches the basics and the laws of the business...you teach how to be successful in the business and both are crucial. I'm doing the reverse now...learning successful technique THEN taking the class for licensing so when I'm licensed I hit the ground running.

    I actually enjoy doing my right hand. It’s hard and the filing sucks, but I’m more thorough and the nails actually often ends up prettier than my left hand in the end. I’m not a tech yet(I hope to be able to get training in the new year) and I’m 1 year on since I bought my first acrylic started set. And man I have come a long way, just in the recent few times I have been doing my nails they have become much more uniform and thinner. In the beginning they where VERY bulky because I had no idea how they where supposed to look and how easily they would break

    Thank you thank you thank you! I am not a nail Tech and I have not gone to nail school. But I do my own nails and I'm getting a lot better and this video was so helpful. I think I left a comment a few weeks ago that it would be awesome to get a video showing us how to do the right hand for us right-handers. Thank you for sharing Susie!!!!

    I love the way you explain each step of what you are doing. And the best way to achieve the results, especially with the brush tip info, A lot of people will just form a ball and throw it down... It's kind of like how the people will patch the roads.😅 You make it look so easy..ty❤

    Suzie, my nails have a very strong c curve, they're almost like little 'u' shapes. I tried to use a form and I ended up getting acrylic underneath all of my nails because the form wasn't sitting properly underneath my nail. Do you have any advice or tips I could use?

    • @tashsaysmeow
      @tashsaysmeow 6 років тому +1
