    Just to clarify for potential Gullfoss users: Bias is not "like a tape bias." It biases either the recover of the taming side of the algorhythm.
    From the Gullfoss manual:
    "Before applying Tame and Recover to a signal, Gullfoss must decide how to split the range of audible frequencies into sections that need to be recovered and sections that need to be tamed. Bias controls this classification by either giving Recover more space when using a positive Bias value, or allowing Tame to control a larger frequency range with a negative Bias value. Recover and Tame then control by how much the respective ranges are affected."

    Hey what’s up I’m a blind engineer and love how you kept it real, it’s a little bit difficult to follow you because you don’t really state the values of each dial that you are presenting, I’m wondering if there’s any chance that we could do a zoom session and you could kind a help me understand a little bit more about this plug-in it’s all accessible so I could navigate through the plug-in without any problem 🔥 my schedule is usually open so really hope that I can get a respond back because out of all the videos you seem to understand it I just subscribed as well thanks for everything

    I've mostly ignored the "boost" function as I thought it was just for final volume adjustments and didn't realize it also added some subtle EQ as well, is the "regular" version like that too?... going to experiment with that now, thanks for the tips as always! ✌️

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood
      @RadiumRecordsHollywood  2 роки тому +1

      Oh yea, that's how it works brother! If you got lacking frequencies, the boost will bring them back in... Use both, play around with both of them!

    Bias shifts the range of the tame and recover so you can balance those two out (like adjustment of those two separate would do only with one handy knob) The tame and recover are interactive and work synergetically so one bias knob makes sense. With the individual knobs you first set the tame and recover values and then finetune those with one bias knob to find the sweetspot. I don't think this is explained well in this video or in the manual to be blunt.

      Fair. This video is pretty old, I probably need to do an update on it as we now have a few different contenders in this category now!

    Does the "Boost" increase the high frequencies aswell?
    From the manual : *Increasing Boost will emphasize the bass frequencies of a signal while reducing the mid frequencies*

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood

      @@goobagooba831The drums are distorting, dummy. It defeats the purpose of filtering drums since you're removing the intensity while adding unpleasant distortion.
