      @@khalilroukoz I was just kidding, you should never be afraid to ask questions, I was being a dick. A clipper is like a limiter in that it's dealing with the top peaks of your audio signal. A limiter will "squish" the very top of the peaks down a little, that way you can turn up the whole signal a bit more because only the loudest little bits are quieter. A clipper will literally "shave" the tops of the signal (think of a hair or beard clipper). Again, the top of the loudest part of the audio is quieter because it's gone, so you can turn up the rest of the track. It's part of the final sauce on all of your favorite songs. Back in the day when people recorded to tape, when something was too loud the tape would clip automatically, this is analog clipping, when this happens it distorts a little bit, that type of quiet distortion is called saturation and it sounds good in many cases. In the 90's when people starting recording digitally they ran into some problems because when something was too loud it still clipped, but instead of tape sounding warm and fuzzy it sounded like dog shit, so people started looking for ways to do something similar to tape without the tape. It's a very subtle effect. An average person can't exactly hear the difference right away and that's 100% normal. A normal person may crack an egg, cook it, put in on a plate and enjoy it, but a chef will add a pinch of salt because they can immediately taste that it's missing. A chef is only good at cooking food because they are an expert at tasting food. How an audio engineer handles the highest peaks of their audio can be through very different combinations. Many different devices and software will "clip" audio by design but you can not always control how it's happening. Tape for example, is just tape, it does what it does. A clipper gives you control over how much to clip, how hard to clip and how much distortion to occur from the process so it sounds best for each track.

    It’s too expensive, period. The “value” argument is a dumb one, because that logic would imply a ubiquitous plugin like fabfilter ProQ should be like $1000, since compared to Gold Clip, ProQ is way more useful and valuable. Price matters and Gold Clip is not worth $250. It doesn’t do anything that much cheaper plugins can’t already do. SIR Standard Clip is as or more powerful at achieving the same results and you can get it for $50 (or less, when on sale)… heck, you can buy a full DAW for $250 and achieve exactly what you can do with Gold Clip AND also produce an entire song while adding reverbs, saturation, equalization, etc. Don’t give me the “it’s about value, not price”…. People need to hear honesty, not advertisement.

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood
      @RadiumRecordsHollywood  6 днів тому

      It's too expensive for YOU. You don't need to argue until your blue in the face... I don't think it's "too expensive" and there are plenty of others that don't think so either. If you can't hear the difference, it is too expensive... FOR YOU. Not for everyone.

    • @SQ3-Sequence
      @SQ3-Sequence 6 днів тому

      Lol! Ok dude… my comment was mainly aimed at the people watching your video so they get an unbiased opinion (I actually own Gold Clip, tried it, compared to the more than 100 other clippers I also own and can confidently say it’s too expensive… the producer community needs to look out for one another… everyone is entitled to spend their money how they choose (like I said, I bought Gold Clip for $200 on sale), but for those looking to UA-cam reviewers to determine whether this is a good investment, I can honestly tell them they’re better off buying New Fangled Saturate, Acustica Ash, SIR Standard Clip and they would be making a much better choice to achieve the same thing. If Gold Clip were to go on sale for like $99, then sure, take the plunge and add another option in your toolbox

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood
      @RadiumRecordsHollywood  6 днів тому

      @@SQ3-Sequence Your opinion is valued but don't mistake your opinion for being MORE valuable than everyone elses... I recommend you make a video shooting out those clippers and explain the differences. Gold Clip is NOT just a clipper (as outlined in this video if you watched the whole thing). The "GOLD" and "ALCHEMY" functions alone make this plugin different and unique to the others you are mentioning. I also bought Gold Clip at $20/mo and made this video because I wanted to talk about what I thought of it. For you to say my opinion is "biased" makes it seem like you are putting my opinion down to favor your own. Why? Why do that?
