What half-face respirators would you recommend? While I usually only wear respirators for cosplay purposes I still love the functionality being available and I'm wondering if there's any respirators that provides the same level of filtration as a gas mask just without the eye protection
Hi there! I personally don't have a reason to own or use half-face respirators, but when it comes to level of respiratory protection, it all depends on the filters you use. Some industrial half-face respirators use proprietary cartridges, but in case you have one that takes 40 mm threaded filters, you can be more picky. @@cbrnacademy interesting. I was taught that since your breathing is weaker while asleep it might not be enough to draw enough air through a filter. That might only apply to older filters and masks, but I am pretty sure that it used to be a thing
@@TheDefaultLP Czechoslovak civil defense norms back in the day counted with situations when prolonged wearing of respirators might be required, up to 50 hours. 😬 But since you mentioned the breathing resistance, some people might argue two filters are easier to breath through. I never encountered a situation with modern respirators when a single filter wouldn't be enough. 👌 I wanted to mention this in the video and in the end I didn't. Maybe next time.
