    Your favorite song of The Warning is usually the last song that you heard from them.

    This song is from the Queen of the murder scene album. A concept album. When she sings this she gets into character. Expresses an evil inner self.

    This tune is all over the place....which is why it is so AWESOME. To me it feels like Sabbath. Check out the concert from Lunario, 6 years ago, they play this entire concept album start to finish and Dany is completely in character

      I characterized this song as a train going off the tracks and then the guitar riff comes in and saves it and oops there goes the train again! Korosu...

    I love how scores of reactors mention an endless list of influences they claim to detect when listening to The Warning, while at the same time they always sound uniquelly and unmistakably like The Warning.

      It is kind've like "This song sounds like if another band wrote it, it could have been 'blank'." In my opinion, this particular song, if it were written by another band, it would be Metallica. In the style of Metallica. I also think Metallica should cover THIS song. Could help Metallica gain some fans ;)

      As you know, The Warning has scores of influences and those affect their music. They use their musical skills and influences to change their sound for each verse/chorus. And that's part of what makes their unique sound.

    Title track to the 2nd album. 3rd song you've done from the record (Dust to Dust, Ugh). Ale's basslines are awesome, and usually one of the first things to catch my attention. But this song, I love Dany's main riff. The Gibson Explorer that Dany is playing is the one gifted to her by Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. They toured together ,summer of '22, Lzzy came out , mid TW set, and presented it to her. This was the first song played with it.
    The word Pau is singing in the pre chorus is Korosu, a Japanese word that roughly translates to 'kill' or 'murder'.
    More from this concert: "Disciple" has Dany and Pau on co lead vocals, and "Choke" with a couple lines sung by Ale.

    You touched on something that i have noticed with this band . Each song of theirs is unique and different from each other , and with around 50 songs now , that is so hard to achieve .

    *QOTMS* was released four years earlier than this. They wrote it five or six years before this! They were children and teens writing a rock opera! Holy crap, right? They played a few of the songs from it here, but hearing the whole album is an experience. The 2018 Live at Lunario concert showcased the entire album, plus a few tracks from *21st Century Blood.* The Warning have no bad songs.

    Agreed. Many of us old 80s rockers gave up on riffy, dynamic Rock a decade or two ago.
    Then the Warning happened....

    In addition to being amazing songwriters/arrangers and workaholic practice musicians, these girls are certified gearheads and recording pros. The "Queen of the Murder Scene" indie album was released in 2018 when they were 18-16-13. Dany wrote the QotMS song lyrics and received co-credits for music, arranging and producing with their longtime studio mentor Jake Carmona. Thanks to Carmona all three of them received professional album credits for arranging, producing and mixing supervisor. They first met Carmona in 2014 (at ages 14-12-9) when he showed them how to record their 2013-14 "homework" songs that eventually became their first iTunes EP in April 2015, as well as the starting point for their 2016 indie album "XXI Century Blood" which they recorded with Carmona. Their air-tight live performances are the result of surviving the "David Bendeth boot-camp" when he produced their ERROR album in 2020 (it wasn't immediately released because of pandemic delays). The timing and tightness skills they learned separately in the studio didn't immediately translate to live performances, however, and they had to spend MONTHS relearning those skills when they played together as a band. Their supernatural live performance sound is thanks to their production and sound tech Lalo Plaza.

    As others have mentioned, this is the title track from their 2nd album, Queen of the Murder Scene. I think it's important to keep in mind this was written & recorded by literal teenagers. They were 18, 16, and 13 when they released QotMS in 2018.

    The Warning covers a lot of genres and styles. Heck on this album you even get cheerleader punk! But it still sounds like them.
    Complicated, fast, loud do not necessarily mean better. I really enjoy that they are masters at writing 3 minute musical short stories. That is not an easy thing to do.

    Dany is about as expressive of a front person as you’ll likely come across.
    I’ve only been able to see TW once, so far, and I was directly in front of Ale and her stage movements and persona are worthy of their own separate conversation.
    One of the best parts of watching live performance videos of TW is when the camera is focused on Dany.
    She absolutely does more than emote the lyrics of the song while playing the guitar, she tells the whole concept of the song through her expressions and mannerisms onstage.
    Then there’s Pau. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more entertaining drummer to watch. Her technical expertise as a drummer precedes her but she’s every bit of a performer behind the kit as her sisters are in front of her. Pau’s emotions are always close to the surface and you’re never sure if you’re gonna see a beaming smile or her famous death stare or tears streaming down her face. There may be no other musician that is as emotionally invested in her performance as Pau.

  • @Biomirth
    @Biomirth Місяць тому +6

    Heck yeah. The story behind the album is funny too because Pau was like... it's a story about a MURDER! And the sisters were like 'yeah and?' and then they had to make up the whole rest of the story together. Such a kid's thing to do. But when they write they clearly iterate a lot and explore and keep polishing for a long time, and it really shows in that album. The structures and lyrics are just awesome.

    Yes Jules you nailed it I'm 66yrs old and TW are the band that brings me the Rock vibe I've been missing. They are honest hardworking musicians that write great songs to be performed live. The hooks, riffs and lyrics are always top tier. Great reaction thank you. 🔥⚡

    _Queen of the Murder Scene_ tells the story of a girl who sinks into insanity and murder. In this title song, Dany sings the part of the evil side, Pau is the good side. While Dany boasts of how evil she is, Pau begins to chant "korosu", Japanese for "Kill". She is losing control and coming over to the dark side.

  • @TeemarkConvair
    @TeemarkConvair Місяць тому +7

    ok, so it IS them,, they went thru David Bendeth 's "boot camp" during the pandemic, relearned how to play "together, as "humans" feeling the music.. Pau runs Ableton on a laptop, their click and backing tracks they made. Dany has magic machines at her feet to double, stuff way over my comprehension,,the noise you hear is the noise they make!! search for their acoustic performances , CHOMP radio small show, Dany's midnite vlogs,, you'll get the idea! Queen of the Murder Scene is their concept album released in 2018. Written and composed by teens!,, where is rock>> at 79 its HERE, The Warning! you'll get tons more, better info as TWA wakes up..

  • @don-music
    @don-music Місяць тому +3

    They use absolutely no pitch correction. They couldn’t get away with it even if they wanted to, because literally every concert they do is recorded or streamed by multiple fans who post them online. This entire concert was originally just cell phone recorded, and we had to wait months for the pro recorded version to finish editing and be released. It is exactly the same. For example microphones stopped working at times, singing is out of tune occasionally, solos are not flawless, notes are played wrong. But the standard is so high that this is nearly nonexistent.
    And I’m being extremely picky as I’m a professional musician, audio engineer, with degrees in classical music, and earned immense respect for the musicianship and technical skills and training of these three women.

    Great reaction. I really like your reactions and the info you share. A couple things. I'm fairly sure the guitar Dany is playing is the guitar Lzzy Hale gave her. Cool. What I find so cool about the album Queen of the Murder Scene is the story of a young woman who goes from desire and obsession to murder and madness and finally suicide. Especially considering how old they were when they wrote it. Their songs (not just this album) are the kind of songs that stay in your head. Or you keep thinking about a certain lyric. Great song writing.

    In my opinion having the ability to play different styles whilst still having a distinct sound of your own is way more interesting than keep doing the same thing and making it more complicated along the way. Check out Wagakki band, a Japanese ensemble of 8 top notch musicians who blend traditional and various modern styles seamlessly!

    Great reaction and analysis. As I told you in the last video. This is the title song to their second album. Self produced. Pau is the primary lyricist and songwriter but as others have noted they work on everything together when she takes ideas to Ale and Dany. What blow my mind is this album was created by 3 teenagers. Consider watching warning vlogs 23,24 and 26 on your own time. The girls talk about the writing process for each song. A little bit of the storyline. It’s also a way to get to know them and their personalities.

    Not my personal favorite, but I know a lot of TW fans love this song dearly. It is interesting to compare this song structure to that of the stuff released to date from the "Keep Me Fed" album (June 28, 2024 release date). Will there be any guitar solos on "Keep Me Fed"?

    If you don't pay attention to the lyrics, go back and read them. These girls are storytellers. If you don't know the story, you end up doing a dis-service to them. They are the poet laureates of their generation. Even old-timers like me get it. So please, pull up the lyrics before you react.Oh, The mini bridge....when Pau is singing korosu(KILL), then Ale sings with her in a high falsetto voice. The bass in this song is dynamic, and when bass and drum team up together..........aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
