Great Tips Bro, Good Workflow 💯
Yes
Very good explanation! For whatever reason the first time I exported the files from Painter it placed the texture in a zip file which caused issues when I imported into UE5 (even after extracting them), only the static mesh appeared and none of the materials were there. I deleted and re-exported the files, this time the textures where placed in a regular folder and that fixed the issue when I imported to UE5 the second time.
Was stuck on importing the texture for 3 hours straight then saw your video🙏
🤩🥳
Bro innu clear substance painter pathi nariya video podunga bro..
There is a problem that looks weird when applying translucent materials in usd. I want to use translucent instead of masked because the opacity is grayscale, is there a way to make it look natural as it looks in the substance painter?
i think you have to play with opacity material
hi! great video, but did you ever have this error message while trying to export the usd file from substance painter?
"[Export USD] The Original 3D mesh file format 'fbx' is not supported
[Export USD] Cannot reference the original mesh file. Export mesh from project cache (lossy)
[Export USD] Cannot export USD mesh file into
[Export USD] Cannot write material USD file
[Export USD] Cannot write main USD file
I have tried different models, i've tried one of the sample scenes, i've tried obj instead of fbx but it still doesnt work :(
Any idea what could have caused this?
Thanks in advance!
i have no idea, did you try exporting into different path?
@@MrPK thanks for your fast response! i saved it on the pc directly now instead of the external harddrive and it kind of works now
- i do still get the "original 3d mesh file format fbx is not supported" and "cannot reference the original mesh file" errors but now it manages to at least export the usd files. thanks you very much :)
