I'm a fulltime gardener and have been using the Stihl for over a year, great little machine, even works in the rain. But these are really designed for soft wood pruning and small topiary work. They are also brilliant in the Autumn when cutting back large perennials. I don't recommend hedge cutting. Right tool right place.
I’m personally a fan of the Milwaukee simply because it’s battery is compatible with all M12 tools. Love being able to remove the battery and pop it into my drill or impact
Thank you Joshua. We have this one we used in the video at a special price for £79 if you wanted. Only been used for what you have seen, cleaned up and all boxed back up again.
Great video guys I have the stihl and I've never enjoyed it or liked it always found shears quicker Have you guys clocked the ego battery fits the stihl but the stihl doesn't fit the ego
You should do a history of yard trimming. Sheep shears, modern manual, the electric that you have to get down on the ground, the added handle - added in the early 1970s, corded weed eaters, petrol and then battery. I laughed at your excitement over the handle.
Awesomeness!! And since I have all M18 and M12 tools! I'll probably go with big red!! You Milwaukee all the way! Anyhow. Lol take care. Thanks for another great one guys.
Is that Ego model a Europe only model? I’m on the Milwaukee 12V platform and would be really awesome to have but the no grass shears is a deal breaker for me. Don’t know if they are sold there but the Makita and Ryobi both have trimmers with both grass shears and a hedge blade. Y’all should do a part 2 with the other models! Great video guys!!
Great reviews really handy tools for light work, i found the EGO and AL-KO noisy compared the stihl and Milwaukee it could have been the microphones, Something i picked up on that was more important than you not wearing your safety glasses James, and that was Poor Ryan with a hole in his T-shirt top of the right arm he could have caught sunstroke 🤣🤣, this has been good as it shows the people what the tools can do. 👍
Yeah pretty much Al, we were going to test the battery time but even after wheat we used them for, no of them had dropped any charge so didn’t really feel it was needed 👍🏼
I want the most powerful electric corded trimmer known to man. 15 amps. I don't trim froofy hedges and I don't care about a rotating blade. I cut through briars, brush, jungle, snakes hanging from trees, barb wire fences.... I want something absolutely brutal, a mauling weapon of mass destruction.
Kudos to this duo for accurate descriptions and priceless demos with each product.. Sincerely appreciate unbiased showings of the good, the bad, the ugly and the malfunctioning!🤗
@@MachineryNation I gave my full size m18 hedge trimmer to my brother it’s way better than any of the small trimmers I tried the small craftsman hedge trimmer I’m just going to buy the full size milwaukee hedge trimmer just a better tool .

I personally would go for the Milwaukee! For shaping small shrubs, it would be ideal !
Nice One Ryan & James all look handy for little jobs Thanks again
Also a fan of the m12 family, seems like this goes on the list of next tool to add to my set :)
Great little tools, can’t beat all these little battery tools make life so easy. Nice enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you Tony. They are proper little tools 👍🏼
Awesome, I've actually had my eye on the Ego trimmer but there's not a single video or review on it! Well done guys 👍🏻
Thank you Joshua. We have this one we used in the video at a special price for £79 if you wanted. Only been used for what you have seen, cleaned up and all boxed back up again.
@@MachineryNation ohhh! Definitely interested, will it have the warranty? It's 30 days to register for the extended warranty with Ego I believe.
At 10:05 I think thats a great design for ppl who are either disabled or old
Great video guys I have the stihl and I've never enjoyed it or liked it always found shears quicker

Thanks Jay. Interesting! They used to fit but not any more. Little secret Chervon who own EGO make the Stihl trimmer 👍🏼
Didn't know ego had a 12V line, but I can't find anything on it in the US! Guess I'll have to get the milwaukee 💸💸
Yeah it seems we get some products that you don’t and you get some that we don’t 😂😂
@@MachineryNation what other 12v tools does ego have in the uk? I can’t find anything else
@@jay3412 I think that's it... Unfortunately.

i like a nice trimmed bush
how about tools that fit to electric hand drill i got a ddr multimax drill with hedge trimmer

What about the original bosch iso one
You should try the ryobi one
Can't find the Milwaukee as a tool only, already have enough batteries & can't find the EGO one anywhere, probably discontinued
What about the weight of them just curious ? Did I miss that part ?
Yes Bill during the specs about 1-2mins into the video 👍🏼
They all look as though they do the job they are designed to do. How long did the batteries last?
Yeah pretty much Al, we were going to test the battery time but even after wheat we used them for, no of them had dropped any charge so didn’t really feel it was needed 👍🏼
You could get a job shearing sheep.
No hedges around here. We mow the grass with a slasher attached to the, you guessed it, Deutz tractor.
I see James had this red tool in his hand for most of the video lol .. I guess they all have a place depending on what job you need it for
It is a nice tool… and the Milwaukee 😂😂 bang on Mick 👌🏽
i wish tarpin were still in buisiness with flexidrive
We need to buy
Heyyyyy what happened to the craftsman hedge trimmer ?
Don’t get them in the UK
Where is Makita?
That’s something you need to ask Makita 😂
@@MachineryNation Makita, if your listening, you dropped the ball. lol
@@paedahe4975 😂😂
You blokes are in the wrong trade, Butchery seems to be your set vocation..😂
You can get that M12 trimmer for £110 so price wise... Not that much different for a more powerful tool
These are the retail prices 👍🏼 also that is tool only. The other prices are including a battery and charger 👍🏼

french garden shear are better just elbow grease
does it do bikini line
Makita do an inexpensive one: ua-cam.com/video/ucPDL08aYOw/v-deo.html - and the batteries work with all sorts of different tools.
looks like they never have cut anything wich the tools have been made for, armatures, why ruin the test ?
What were they made for mate? Cutting Tobacco plants?
@@MachineryNation not abuse, you will do better testing hammers
Why would anyone trim grass like that?
If someone only has only got a postage stamp size lawn then it might be useful 👍🏼
They give me anxiety 😬
i cut my self on one of these and went to the hostital
Milwaukee is just way over PRICED !
Fair tool mind, but yes it comes with. A price tag.

I thought this would answer the question. I was fooled. All you did was spend 11 minutes to end up asking us. Lame, and terrible.
