    dude sun shade on tent walls and ceiling is GENIUS!!!!! thats always the only thing i hate about tent camping is the morning sun beating down on your tent and cooking you inside. that looks like it would help so much. thank you sir!

    i understand your heart is in the right place, by helping others with your suggestions. kudos. but, you're quite the consumer. cheap stuff that will last as long as you're there, and get tossed when you get home. maybe on your next trip to the playa, try more sustainable items. i have the same rebar after 7 trips. i have the same bike, headlamp, clothing, water containers, food prep and eating utensils, and more. buy items that will last, not single use junk. buying from a thrift shop will also give items a second life or more.

      it's burningmanmike I am returning with the same hat van Goped table everything almost ! There were so many batteries I still have half of those! I am gonna use a plastic spork and reusable bowl this year more tho. I agree with what you say about sustainability and am going more that route this year we even will be taking recycling in a giant trash bin that looks like Balrog from lord of the rings!
      COME FIND ME AT 4&A. Camp lumidance look for the Balrog and the van

      Good thought. I'm not one to shop at Walmart anyway because I despise the way they treat their employees. I'm planning for next year (since I've never been), so I have time to get these things-like a thrift store. I already have an old Coleman stove from 1960's and it still works. Not getting a cheepy.

    I don't say this to be snarky, but why aren't Burners more focused on sustainability, with all that holistic, pro-social, leave-no-trace energy? Most Burners will return more than once, so why not buy durable/reusable, or at least recyclable items? You can bring recyclable disposable plates/cups and (instead of burning or throwing them) take them back out with you to properly recycle. Throwing away 120-odd batteries is often-illegal and extremely toxic. You can, instead, use rechargeable batteries, USB-powered electronics with a rechargeable battery pack, or at least set aside and properly recycle single-use batteries. Your styrofoam cooler setup is cool (literally), but will you reuse it? Because styrofoam is one of the most toxic and enduring plastics out there and non-recyclable in most cities. Better to create a durable plastic setup with a cheap Coleman that will last decades.

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  6 років тому +5

      I saw a lot of solar panels hooked up to car batteries and then to swamp coolers. I’ve realized tho nothing beats a generator and ac . We brought lots of canned beer drink and food we recycled and we burned whatever we were allowed to. Only used about 50 batteries the trip still have 70 aa . I’m gonna reuse most of the stuff in this list for future years the majority of it all survived and we left no trace at our camp not a single spec of trash

      ok paper plates and plastic forks you got me... this year I’m bringing plastic bowls and sporks to clean. Still going with more battery powered stuff than solar.

    Hey Power Surge. Just wondering what your experience was like with those Gopeds.
    Did you have any operation issues with the dust?,or do you have any tips for keeping them going out there?
    Secondly did you get any backlash from other burners? I've read a bunch of BRC blogs, and many people seem to unhappy about the dust kick-up/noise/and just the fact that they're gas powered.
    Will you be bringing them again?

      Clarrie Chu they worked amazing this year my buddy and I are bringing 4 Gopeds to camp. We joined a Goped gang called dickbats . The gang had a race and pub crawls.... the Goped and I bonded like no other on Playa it’s the best!!!

      Clarrie Chu our gang is called the dick bats because we buzz around some people think we are kinda dicks on our scooters because we arent riding bikes anywhere which makes us lazy and we make a silly buzzing sound... But deep down those haters are jealous of how easy and fun our goped life is on Playa. Find me at 4& A

      I drive a gas scooter around playa! Much better. I was able to get a good condition blade Z gas powered scooter for $200 for this year’s burning man other people on Playa will be charging electric bikes with gas generators for hours. All I have to do if I want to go somewhere is top off my gas tank and I can ride for the whole day.

      They lived!!! We put small socks over the air filters and dusted em off good with air compressors after the burn. I took them to more desert events after burning man one still runs the other needs work but they can be easily fixed by a guy in my town for 30$.

      They are amazing! The same two scooters have thrived for 3 burning mans and they are coming back this year! I actually just bought two on offer up for some people in our camp for around $400 each..
      It’s the best thing to have on Playa they are the most reliable they are fast never need to recharge batteries just refill gas and you could always sell them for about the same amount you pay if you don’t want them later.

    Hey I wanted to ask you something really important after watching your video about burns from a fire. My brother got burned from fire during our one wrestling match and it has been almost one month since it happened. Healing looks great but will there be any pigment changes? Have you gotten any pigment changes? Like permanent ones?

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  6 років тому +1

      Thank you for the question! I haven’t had burns bad enough to cause serious pigment change . However I touched a hot piece of metal on Fourth of July and burned my thumb so bad it’s still numb to touch over a month later. The pigment didn’t change but it has a sort of leathery tough feel and slight browning on the exact burn spot (like it was cooked)
      The skin feels tight and numb for about 3 weeks after but now it’s been about 6 weeks and the look and feel is close to normal however it’s still somewhat numb to the touch the feeling is returning slowly.
      Good luck I wish you bro a speedy recovery 👍🏻

      It can get cold especially if your out somewhere in the open like Esplanade or the trash fence. Each day or night around 7 PM I would make the mission back to my camp and change into my night clothes which would consist of jeans and lots of layers including a big furry coat if I was going to be out somewhere very cold or if the nights have been very cold and it bothered me recently. I’m almost done with the video about what food to bring do you think I should make a video about what clothing to bring?
