If you ever have thought about taking your brand new RV to Burning Man, there are a few things you can do to prepare yourself, and the rig. You may have seen or heard horror stories about how nothing you bring to the playa will ever be the same, and yes, they are correct. But there are precautions you can take to protect your rig from the elements.
This video doesn't cover all of the things I did, but many of them, from preparing the generator, to taping and securing air holes, but there is so much more.

It was great! I am not sure if I can make it to this year's event, but I am planning to attend a couple regional burns, so I'm excited about that.

The interesting thing about air filters is, the more clogged it gets the smaller the material it will block. This is good up to the point where no more air can pass.
I want to take my travel trailer, do I purchased 2 vehicle passes? One for my car one for trailer?
Always enjoy your great feed back, not sure how you protected your gear tracks and seals on your slides that would be the number one issue for me. Growing up in Mammoth Lakes and traveled the death Valley and California city deserts many times the sand stormers R crazy. I am not a big fan of burning man but I get it.

I am going to burning man for the fourth time this year but the first time with my own vehicle. Do you have any advice on how to protect my car as much as possible. I am the most worried about the under carriage and engine area. I feel confident on sealing up my windows and vents. I am also covering the inside with tarps and plastic.
would have been helpful if you went over taping things up and preparing your rv for burning man and informing us closest truck wash to the event.

Thanks for the video. I have been to 2018 & 2019 Burns. Thinking of taking my RV next year. What did you do to help keep dust from the inside? Tips? Thanks!!!
Hi Randy, I just put down a sheet at the front door, I picked up a flat sheet from WalMart, and whenever I came in, I stopped on the sheet, took off my shoes and never walked through the rig with my shoes on. That helped keep most of it out, plus all the tape on the windows. I swept pretty regularly too, several times a day just to stay on top of it. I didn't really have any issues with dust, or not as much as I thought i would have.
I also sprayed everything down with the water/vinegar mixture. The playa dust is very high in Alkaline, so that mix helps remove it from surfaces, just normal water won't work. I sprayed my stuff, and myself with this pretty regularly.
Did you do anything special to the protect the tracks of your slide and to stop dust from entering from the slide being open? If not, did you run into any issues later with the tracks and sand? (Thank you in advance)

Hi! Thanks for subscribing! I have a website at www.ClaimTheVision.com that has some stuff on it, but honestly, it’s been a bit since I’ve updated it. I need to set aside some time to get that current. So far, no issues with the cats! They were good with the dust and they have been adapting to VanLife nicely.

I do not recommend doing this with your RV.
Yeah, I was debating back and forth on whether or not to do this. Fortunately, the group I went with also had brand new RV's and they have been multiple times before, so they knew what to do before, during and after the burn to make sure it stays in tip top shape.

This was the year the official burn didn't happen. People just went. Proof the inflated greedy org is not needed.

Thanks for the support, Marty! Yeah, the official event was canceled, but there were still people that went out, about 20,000 or so. It was called "Plan B" or "Renegade". And yeah, love the Pocket 2!
