I always wondered about that and finally someone brave enough to do the test. I wouldn't be surprised that sometime in the near future, EV chargers will be stationed in the middle of the desert. Anything is possible at this point.
I actually really like these mats. As I mentioned I think for anyone without the FS CT which comes with mats these would be my recommendation over the Tesla mats
Great video. I wonder how it compares in terms of efficiency to towing an aerodynamic camper (like a pop up or a-liner). I’m pretty sure that because all that gear is super drag-inducing it might be comparable (unlike a large camper that is almost as aerodynamic as a large brick - nothing against it - we also had one, but it is what it is)
.625 kWh is a good base number to go by. An average of 15% a day is something that can easily be planned for. I know of some great camping areas not far from a Supercharger.
The best ones are the heavy duty heavy matts that weight down and don't warped over time unlike these new ones we recently seen does not matter the price. I wouldn't be surprise he got those tents for free from sponsors. WHy would he be camping in the desert and not in the greens.
These mats have a good weight to them no more or less than the OEM ones. I’ve tested a lot of mats for the CT and none weight substantially more than the other. Our friends have RZR’s so we decided to go have some fun in the desert. My next camping video will be in the mountains. Stay tuned 😉
The desert is an awesome place to camp. Cool wildlife and plant life, interesting rocks, gorgeous stars at night. I'm in New Mexico and camp alot here and in Arizona.
Very interesting video. Would love to compare that efficiency with my Rivian (with RTT, two refrigerators, and a lot of other gear). It wasn’t very good either. Did you say what the size of the battery is in your CT?
The efficiency is a bit disappointing, especially given you weren't towing. I live in Australia and have a Cybertruck reservation. I'm not sure it is going to be the best solution for me. Australia is a big country with huge gaps between chargers. I am beginning to think that a range extender EV like the BYD Shark or Ramcharger might be better. It's a pity, since I currently own a Model 3 and didn't want to go back to internal combustion, but I think EVs just aren't fit for purpose for long haul towing in remote locations yet.
I am glad that you found the video helpful. I was a little disappointed as well and am working on finding a reasonable solution 🤞🏼 I appreciate the watch and sub 🙏🏼

Yes, a folding solar panel and battery bank should be able to easily keep the fridge going and charge your other devices while at the campsite.
💯 I’d like to find a setup to help charge the CT as well. Something other than a gas generator
Nice video! This is why we need 500 mile range… can stay out so much longer
Exactly! 👍🏼

Glad you enjoyed the video and I’m sure EV chargers will be everywhere in the next 5 yrs or so
What a dream life!
Happy for you Eric.
Hope your son feeling better.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 🎄 Podcast will be back on January 8th
@ Ok. You need some break for sure.🥰
Very cool use of the cyber truck!
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Great video! Those liners just don’t measure up to the OEM ones, even though you tried to convince us your subconscious wasn’t buying it either!

💯 after this trip I thought the same that a small super aerodynamic trailer might be more efficient

I was pleased with the result. Planning is key when camping with an EV
Watch out for Trevor!!!

Well now imma have to do a video on that 👍🏼
BGM too loud, especially at the 6:00 mark. Overall, a great video though, thanks!

Great question and I apologize for not stating it in the video but yes I turned off sentry mode
Good video but music was too loud while you were talkiung
I appreciate the kind words and feedback

A Rivian comparison would be great, I’ll talk to my Rivian friends on a collab. CT battery is 123kwh
New sub here. Just picked up my Cybertruck Foundation last weekend! Will be binge watching your channel. 👊🏼
Congratulations on your new CT!! I appreciate the sub and binge 🙏🏼
