Wet sand. The plastics. With finer and finer sets and paper. Ending with 3000. Watch a video from tnt moto He does a bunch of it. Shit turns out like new
If you want to make your plastics look nice you can do wet sanding with less grit and keep doing it with more grit. Then use polishing compounds after getting it smooth. That is what I did on my RM80’s gas tank and it looks great. I’m positive it will work with other plastics too.

That thing needs a blue frame. Spray around the areas with carb clean. Looking fir an air leak. I. Rt the crank seals are toast. If they are. Do not run it
Nice vid, 🤙🏻 TNT has this plastics resto down to a art. i usually scrape back the oxidised stuff on the plastics with a stanley blade and then start rubbing down with wet and dry and then buff with a buffing wheel
60/40 mix of linseed oil and thinner. 60 thinner 40 linseed oil Boil linseed oil and thinner, put mix onto a rag and scrub, then use a clean dry rag to wipe off excess. This work amazingly well
Hey Joe, I gotta say you really did yourself in on this one. I always have something negative to say because i hate how you run some of your 2 strokes and think they are running good when really their not at all. What you did with this bike is great man n I mean that. Take your time on these bikes(2 strokes) an they'll treat you good. Keep up the good work bruh!
Looking good, love the old rm's i did a frame up restoration on a 1991 250 a few years back, royal blue powercoated frame with new white UFO platstics, did look stunning
Pretty nice job mate! Sounds good, sort that idle out my man, and you got yourself ripper there, best I’ve seen you do, must admit I always criticise your builds, but only because we want you to get better, but I’m a subscriber and always watch and like your vids, 👍 nice job,
When I first got the bike it only needed a top end. Got that done and rd maybe a month before it blew. Got it done again and the same issue. I was told the carbs was to big, I could never get it to kick start when cold, had to push it off and once warm it would kick start. So I got the bike rebuilt top and bottom, got new carbs, went to double filters and it still wouldn’t kick start. From there I just parked it because I can’t find a good person to sync the carbs an I didn’t want it to blow again. It’s been sitting a couple years, haven’t rode or started it since the rebuilding . -banshee 350
As said wet sand plastics and use lambs wool buffing wheel with cutting compound block. Heat gun helps with pale coloured stress marks. WD40 is a great cleaner for oil and scuff marks. It's all about elbow grease vs $$.👍
I would checked out the motor at least, bike may look good until it grenades also it has a weird idle, one minute it's about to stall then it starts idling higher..
Zackary Granger I only watch to get a laugh if he would actually pay attention to the ppl that know what they are talking about and expand his knowledge he could do well but makes same mistakes over and over and over I can keep going hell that yz490 is sick but he will beat it and sell it to a idiot
I have a 01Cr85rb bigwheel edition with the 109bigbore kit made 2years I believe it's forsale and all rebuilt everything exept graphics lol!! Love ur vids man
Just take a heat gun to the plastics and they will shine right up! 10 minute job! Just stay about an inch away from the plastics while heating them and you’ll see the shine with your own eyes! Thanks
You did all that work you might as well get new plastics for it just ask more for it.
This bike actually sounds good. Just adjust the idle and it's done. Don't touch the fuel air mixture.
@@DUMBNWO nah revs wasnt hanging
U put the powerband in backwards, get onto it now before it causes serious damage

That works dont forget the heat gun
Keyboard warrior Hitman tnt Moto love him
slimventor_sumo You don’t need the heat gun you can just polish it with a polish or after
Keyboard warrior Hitman tnt is that dude he does great work this channe sux
Fuck that shit

Wow, how many times do you need to say parts giant hahaha,do u own the company?
You should buy a graphics kit for the old plastics make a really sick black and yellow build.
Wheelies in every gear? I haven’t seen it wheelie in any gear. That KTM 200 you had, now that wheelied good, as you found out.
That thing needs a blue frame. Spray around the areas with carb clean. Looking fir an air leak. I. Rt the crank seals are toast. If they are. Do not run it
You should use ether in stead of carb cleaner
Finally a decent running 2 smoker

I enjoyed this little build series 🙂
60/40 mix of linseed oil and thinner.
60 thinner
40 linseed oil
Boil linseed oil and thinner, put mix onto a rag and scrub, then use a clean dry rag to wipe off excess. This work amazingly well
Bike sounds really good man cant wait for next vid
IT runs very good well done
Counter shaft sprocket looks on backwards
Sure does.
Finally got a bike running some what mint
Loved the build on this bike hopefully you can do it again on another bike

Sorry mate. You said you painted it ref last vid but no vid? Of it getting painted, On last vid of this build you said you was getting sand blaster?
I saw a vid of him painting.
Nice video! I like all the new stuff you got :)
Good job Joe!
Love the build video looks good

I had one of these bikes. Same year and everything haha
Not a bad bike, have fun with it!

Wet sand it I did it to my bike and it turned out amazing
It sounds like it's running a little lean, like you said in the end of the video adjust the air screw a tad richer. Nice video love it
Are you trolling us for views/revenue? Because ITS WORKING
sounds pretty good!!
You framed a bike to change the sprockets an chain an u painted the frame, why wouldn't u do anything to the motor
@@AcousticNRG 😂😂😂😂😂dieing rn
@@AcousticNRG who needs a new piston and rings when that bitch is crispy Af and has wd-40 on the breaks!!😂😂😂👌
Sounds sweet good job
Where the fork guards??
sounds like you did a good job its always better wen you do a job like that yourself so u no whats going into it.
For your plastic, use sand paper to remove scratches. Then a heat gun to shine it up.

So you ripped apart the carb draining it of it’s gas and then expect me to believe it fired on first kick try again kid
Exactly you can rebuild the whole motor and carb and its not going to start first kick...
J D yup it take a couple kicks for vacuum to pull fuel in
you re right , although i do believe him. it happened to me . rebuilt rm 250 top end and carb cleaned , started first kick. i was speechless
I’m tryna figure out how you start it up after just putting it back together and it’s already warmed up🤣🤣
Zackary Granger I only watch to get a laugh if he would actually pay attention to the ppl that know what they are talking about and expand his knowledge he could do well but makes same mistakes over and over and over I can keep going hell that yz490 is sick but he will beat it and sell it to a idiot
try to add aftermarket grafix and that will cover up most of the plastics
I have a 01Cr85rb bigwheel edition with the 109bigbore kit made 2years I believe it's forsale and all rebuilt everything exept graphics lol!! Love ur vids man
Nice build bud!.that thing would sound so much better with a shorty silencer!.
I think that front sprocket is on backwards.
Haven't watched the video and I'm guessing it doesn't run right
Just take a heat gun to the plastics and they will shine right up! 10 minute job! Just stay about an inch away from the plastics while heating them and you’ll see the shine with your own eyes! Thanks
The older plastic you can scrape like back fender front fender it gets it down to like original plastic
Good job!
Can you vinyl wrap the plastics?
Freshly rebuilt no break in and slam the gears good idea😂
I take a heat gun to the plastics slow and steady will bring the glossy yellow back out
@2vintage how do I clean and oil up a filter?
Nice vid !
Mr clean magic erasers might clean it pretty good
Brock Jungels they are not dirty. The plastic is faded 🤣
Older RM's and KX's are the best looking bike's in my opinion
True
nice bro! god video
Get a blow torch and lightly heat up the plastics it makes them look brand new
Awesome man
Nice bike love the channel
Just buy some nice graphics to cover them
If u ever do a video on a Yz 250 or Crf 250 Build , love to learn some more things
if plastics are scratched heat up enough to remould where scratches are and if dull or dirty heat up and clean hard with strong chemical cleaners
Love the vids
Nice looking bike
I heated that ur not supposed to reuse old sprocket bolts. Something about the threads getting stretched out. Could be a myth idk
Really cool but please start tucking the front brake line in behind the fork
You should get a D.I.D o-ring chain.
Take grorilla pads to the plastics then clear coat them they turn out brand new
Do you still have that rm 125 I will buy it 4real
Try a Mr. Clean magic eraser, if that doesn't work more drastic steps will be needed.
Yo nice I sang in primer and painted my plastics
On rocky mountain atv.com they have a product called bike in a can and it’s a sparse for your plastics and it makes them really clean
Didn’t the 91 RM 125 have a yellow frame
Aaron Troutman looks bad black. I woulda went blue. Then look great
Where do you order your parts from??
I was the first 1 to live
XX baby girl xX I believe Adam or eve were the first to live
Nice vid 👍
Fix the kick starter detent. That noise would drive me nuts.
You already started it off camera
You should go to rockymountain atv/mc to order new plastics they are only 50$ so it's not bad
Are you going to sell it?
bro don't forget to wd40 your brakes
A blow torch makes plastics shine agin. Look it up. Its real
Whoop!
You did a really great job on that bike bro. Big thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
Why won’t it idle
Can a get drz 125l that is what I have and a jr80
That would be cool to see on this channel
What was the point in taking it apart if you didn't build anything or replace any seals no fork work no motor work just cleaned shit????
Lol forgot to say dont cut the plastic with the razor blade but scrape it
Nice 👍
this up and down the street shit is boring ans try wet sanding plastics ending in 1500-2000 grit
You should try to get a Yamaha tt500
Silicon oil for the plastics
Uuummmmmmm yea😂lmao lol
Paints gonna ware off after like 3 rides
Da Jack Is Back ik he needs frame guards
Hayden Bruce no he needs to paint it correctly
try to use wd40 and a rag and polesh them up and then paint them
Get a 1985 dr200 or similar year
420 sprockets wit a 520 chain
Plastics can be restored. Sand clean and heat gun. Or clean and order a decal kit...
