    Cool. Here's a pro tip: You can loosen the crankarm bolts with the chain on the big ring. This will protect your knuckles from teeth on ring should you slip (oh yeah, it happens). This also applies when removing pedals.

    Some editing tips - Kill the weird techno music. Find something mellow to play over the background without making my ears bleed. Also, when doing repetitive things like removing screws, just jump cut from one to the other. We will get the idea. Don't make the audience watch every painful turn of the wrench. There's good info here but you need to edit it down to the useful bits. Also, a quick text overlay of the steps as you go would also be helpful. If you need good music for video backgrounds check out something like stream beats. I'm not affiliated but they have great copyright free stuff that is free to use.

    Thanks for sharing! Great content, although I do agree with the others the music is distracting. Not necessarily the music itself, but it's the volume.
    Curious, why did you take off the crank to remove the old chainrings and install the new? I would think a person could unscrew the pedal, unscrew the chainrings and slide them off over the pedal? I did that in converting a 2x into a 1x, but I haven't done it with a 3x. It seems like it should work...?
    An innocent question; to the extent you used the existing crank, which ostensibly is set up for a 3x system, did you have any alignment issues with the 1x chainring and the cassette? I've heard folks mention that, but I don't see how it would be an issue.
    Finally, how are you enjoying your conversion? Is it working out the way you hoped? Anything you wish you had done differently - different cassette or chainring or gone 1x11 or...?
    Thanks again for sharing your video!

    • @northmtb1603
      @northmtb1603  3 роки тому +1

      In my case 3X, it was necessary to take off the cranks. The reason was the smallest chainrings 22z, which can not be taken off by sliding over the pedal.

    • @northmtb1603
      @northmtb1603  3 роки тому +1

      No problem when aligning 1x10 did not arise. The new 36z chainring is in the position of the middle old 32z chainring, and is able to handle the entire 10x 11-42z cartridge.

    • @northmtb1603
      @northmtb1603  3 роки тому +1

      My current bike assembly is, front chainrings 34z and rear cassette 10 x 11-46. The reason for the change was to increase the range of gears for easier riding in the hills and trail forest.

    • @richarde1355
      @richarde1355 3 роки тому +1

      @@northmtb1603 So, do you have a 36 up front with a 11-42 in the back, or a 34 and 11-46? If you went from one to the other, how much difference did you notice?

    • @northmtb1603
      @northmtb1603  3 роки тому +1

      @@richarde1355 The current wheel mounting is chainring 34z .... 10s 11-46. Chainring 36z was large in size and rubbed against the frame of the bike, I replaced it with a 34z chainring, which is already good in size. The difference between these two settings is mainly known in the hills where the cassette 11-46 makes it much easier for you.
