  • The Metal Man waltz, composed by Robin Dransfield, is named after a 12 foot high, seven ton, iron lighthouse that in 1821 was placed off the coast of County Cork, Ireland, at Rosses Point in Sligo Harbor. He’s dressed as a sailor, and is pointing to safer waters. (See picture at end of video)It is somewhat irregular in timing, but with a lovely feel. Some play it all evened up, but I much prefer this version. Made popular around here by the great band Scartaglen. Free tab at
