Interesting. For the opening riff, I usually bar my second finger on the second and third string so that I don't have to move any fingers except my first as well as not change position.

Noob here, how? just how, do you spread your fingers over 5!!! frets to play sequence one? I'd love to be able to play this song!
Lothandyr Most beginners struggle to do this, don't worry! This part especially could be difficult even for seasoned players.
You have to train your pinky! When doing licks or practicing chords, use your pinky when necessary. Lots of players don't use it but it is worth developping the habbit!
For this song (and this could go for any song) just go as slow as you need so every note sounds full and clear. Work your way up to the correct tempo with a metronome preferably.

I'm so far away from being able to play that first sequence it's disheartening and then you go on to say the other sequences are more difficult! I was dropping down to play the high e with my 1st and 3rd fingers but just couldn't get back up to the other notes fast enough. Thought I found the answer when I saw your video and you played it without dropping down to the high e, until I tried it for myself. My fingers barely reach and to play the note as well? no chance! You play the song amazingly by the way. I am jealous. I'll have to play an easier song for now :(
Lothandyr it is pretty hard but keep at it! Keep practicing and go slowly. Your whole hand is gonna develop itself youll see
