Great content! 6:50 a small mistake though, the 5 clawed dragon is reserved for the imperial family. 4 clawed and 3 clawed ones are used in royal family and lower tier nobles e.g. the ones in Korea, Japan, Ryukyu and princes in China and those countries
Basically only the emperor have the right to use 5 clawed dragon on his clothes and things that represents him.

Personally I have no central belief with dragons in my various stories. Generally speaking I draw them as either western or eastern varieties; but also in the more abstract like quasi-elementals.
As I have brought it up before... The First Dragon female (do not remember the name I gave her) is styled after the luck dragon in never ending story combined with the world snake of Norse mythology and Bahamat from Final Fantasy 7. Long bodied but with body bulk and the dog like face. Going for intimidating build but sweet heart temperment. She resides on the dark side of the moon because she tired of people and Gods harassing her and the treasure. She left her treasure to be at peace in space. Master of magic of all kinds and having knowledge of most everything science like because shecan hear that well and remember perfectly; I always saw her color as more like an Oil spill; Black with rainbow sheen in the right light. She remains entangible and invisible where she sleeps. She being a first of a race Can't die period. if it was not for her self regen she'd be a mangled mess by now from all the fights she has endured. Unfortunately she will out live the universe since she can't die. Her first mate the male Unslayable of her race ventured out into the cosmose never to return. he is attempting to see everything and learn everything so he became a true adventurer to parts unknown. Eternity is a long time so paths will recross... until then no more dragons can be born.
Never thought of him before; so glad to think of it now.

      @@pantheonmythology Thank you.
I have a couple cases of that in my stories.
Theres an Island that is roughly 3 times larger than the Asian Contenental plate. It has a simple name of "Big Island"; but its history for why its what it is... well is as simple as it is tragic. Its the result of the wrong weapon being tested. A mere protype nearly split the planet in half; the saving grace was that the blast happened at the center of a tectonic plate and not at a side of it. The blast Turned a Large Archipelogo of many volcanic Islands and warring tribes of Monks into Big Island. Thanks to all the various magics on the various sacred grounds and royal palaces and such the blast was less than full fatal potential. The weapon was designed by a brilliant mind forced to make the most destructive weapon they could or "unpleasant" things would happen to friends and family. The Tyrant responsible for this did not mention their plan to test the weapon on the inventors home town.
The Gods punished the Inventer by removing his name and general identity from history... what was left was a lone survivor that made a weapon capable of massacring billions (the population is weird in that I overexagerate how many can live in an area); the total was something crazy like 100 bill people. He survived because at the moment it was used he was across an ocean from the Archipelogo (not sure why yet... possibly getting a gift for his family at home). See felt a momentary acceleration in time the blast was so epic it rippled the tachions in the air. The Bomb was a blackhole generator that released the compressed matter and energy after a certain time.
Placed on trial for making such a MAD device; he was sentenced to eternity in the worst prison on the planet. A place that was so terrible People would beg to go to hell rather than stay; because Hell would be a health spa in comparison. Think Love craftian Horror but a structure instead of a creature. A place designed to break wills and grind souls into utter despair so no staff would ever be required.
Psycho is the only person to escape everand that person is our Inventer. Psycho is much title as name for the character. Literally knows everything as his mind is connected to all. But the brain can only do so much and as a result he speaks and acts utterly erratic and to unpredictable to understand even by deities with vision specialties. He only is living still because he became to insane for the afterlife to accept him. So as his body reaches a state where it should clearly not function he just becomes better, because his power of mind over matter prevents his death as he forgets the pain and suffering and resets. He is among the few characters of mine that is immune to the normal rules of reality. But the cost is never having a solid grasp of his surroundings. Doomed to forever relive his past failures and stuck in deep abysal remorse.
He finally receives peace when the True God of Death sits down and talks things out with him. The aura of death or whatever was able to take hold after weeks of attempted therapy between the 2. A speck of self forgiveness was all it took to break the cycle. Psycho realized that he could of done nothing different... that small amount of self forgiveness was all it took. after millions of years living in self doubt and survivors guilt.
Despite his madness you could think of the stuff he verbalized in his mad state to be perfect prophecy; If you could ever understand the mad chatter you would pick up needed clues to solve any dire situation you were in. But its Mad rambling so good luck piecing together the situation and thoughts.
One story I tried to start but honestly gave up on was called "Psycho's Memo" a story attempting his insane POV covering his life events. I gave up because the POV is to hard to work with. Keeping sentences disconnected while having a "coincidental" quality to there sense is just to much. If I had idetic memory I could pull it off because then I could keep straight all sentences and subtexts... but no in the end Its hard to get momentum going through such mad speech patterns.
I partially modeled a different character off his way of speech. In Sora KazeJin MyoGane case; its meant to be simply an airheaded approach but to a severe degree. She says thoughts out loud but sometimes as a whisper and her thoughts float in and out of focus constantly. I do it as a gag for her. Its easy enough to write for her because you take 3 to 4 points of conversation
      weather
      events around her
the things her companions are up to
      ideas for diner
You mix and match from those 4 with continued lazy pauses between the 4 base sentences so its in one breath but with misleading gaps in speech (where others might try to reply or interrupt without knowing shes done talking or not).
      For example (tho simplified)
      I'm singing in the rain...
Have I come across a plain...
      Merrily insane...
      It is a plain...
      have yet found my brain...
      why is there this plain.
Its crazy sure, but you see what her wavering focus is touching on; a song or something similar; probably because it is raining... and her noticing shes in a flat grassland but being lost and not sure if she was trying to get to her current location.
Since I can write up a few things elsewhere to keep it straight I can work her lines into place after dissecting the sentences.
Her story requires an artist more reliable and consistent than I am to draw it.
I have a general outline for a lot of chapters of a Manga styled story for her and crew.
But I cannot draw consistently. so If I try to do it myself I will hate my art to much to want to try publishing it. A few characters are complicated looking. Others less so. But for the action scenes to look good I need someone else. Just cannot afford a helper at the moment.

Dragons are not literal Serpents. The serpent creature, the way we depict dragons, are more like a family crest or clan symbol.
In reality, they were physicaly humanoid in apperance, but they had elongated skulls and possesed advanced technology.
The Sumarian gods Enki and Enlil, imediatley remind me of the Coiling and Celestial Dragons, respectivley.
Or Velez and Perun, the Slavic gods who reside in the waters and the sky respectively.
I can go on and on with greek gods, hindu, ect.
    But also let me point out the Serpent god of South America, also not a literal Dragon;
Rather a humanoid, teacher and civilizer.
Dragons are still big news in recent years, think theyre calling them UAP's nowadays

This is from a book series about a girl and her dragon guardian based on "mystical" ancient China. So not sure if it is part of the original myth or not with dragons.
But one fact brought up in that story (only read book 1) is that Centipedes are a serious threat to dragons. Apparently they like to crawl into Dragons ears and eat a dragons brain.
    Talk about Savage...
If that is part of the original stories and not made up by that Author that's pretty horrifying to imagine.

@sircole4549 I figured; but thanks for clarifying.
Still wonder why large cold blooded threats or super powers (dragons) exist everywhere in myths across the planet.
I mean a creature with an organ that makes buatane or something and has a means to ignite it and breath flame is believable to me; from an evolution stand point its hard to argue dragons as something that could not exist... Chinese versions with the weather manipulation and such I find harder to understand... maybe a more advanced style of Electric sak like an eels and somehow they could alter barometric pressures to call forth storms and such... not sure how though.
But I hate accepting things as coincidence; so the fact so many cultures had these big lizards or sea serpents with nearly identical abilities is just to hard for me to accept as having no truth to it. I mainly wonder on what that truth is.

The Chinese Identity in Question: “Descendants of the Dragon”
Chinese call themselves "Descendants of the Dragon" .
“The Descendants of the Dragon”: A Symbolic Han Blood Community.
the holistic symbol of the Chinese is linked with the "dragon totem" and “dragon culture.”
Why do Chinese call themselves "Descendants of the Dragon"?
During the Qin and Han Dynasties, Confucianism began to be religious, and the idea of Taoism becoming immortal gradually became stronger. The dragon pattern began to appear as the image of the Four Spiritual Gods, which is the image of the blue dragon in the "Qinglong, White Tiger, Suzaku, Xuanwu" that we call today. Thin tail. The power of the great Chinese empire during this period was particularly vividly displayed in the "Qin Bricks and Han Tiles".

Ok, its not as if you are totally wrong but this video is more based on stereotypes or a very romanticized image of the chinese dragons. To give some eamples: They are associated with fire and some even breathe fire while in other cases their "fire" is actually lightning bolts. They can be beneficial for humans but they might not, some are directly nasty and evil, especially those in folktales, and sometimes in big legends. There are dragons who are symbols of imperial power but others are not. And while dragons appearing can be good omens, if they do it at the wrong time or place it is a bad omen. And usually praying and offering sacrifices will make them give you rain but angering them works as well. They are, somewhat uniform in appearance, albeit that depends on whose definition of dragon you are using (e.g. some authors consider winged dragons as dragons and others not), but characterwise they are very diverse, they are not uniformly good, neither in folklore nor in fiction. Keep in mind, their primary element is water and wind, and both can be beneficial or destructive, that is why you have dragons who bring rain to make the crops grow, but also dragons whose fights cause destructive thunderstorms, or otherwise who straigt up flood the river banks and delight in the suffering of the people.

I am currently reading the book The Dragon in China and Japan from 1912 and while the book has quite extensive information, I did notice that the author has a strong tendency to regard dragons universally as gods and benevolent despite some of his quotes directly referencing evil dragons. And I think that many simply followed in his foodsteps and did not question it. Which sources did you use for your video? Do you remember?

The emperors usurp the power of the Dragon and erased the past history, this is how the Dragon became benevolent. The Chinese New Year Dragons chase a bright pearl accompanied with fireworks, now compare that to the 2013 Superbolide footage over Chelyabinsk with two counter-rotating vortices following behind the arc welding bright light of the ablation and explosion, plus the downrange pops. Even after the destructive part was expunged there are traces of the truth within the stories, such as iron and water - meteor and deluge. Some stories even tell of which meteor stream it is from with the seven heads- The Pleiades. In universal mythology we all point to The Pleiades as the causation of World Ages and The Taurid Meteor Stream with its radiant is just under this star cluster that wasn't known to science till 1950. Proof that ancient man knew of astronomical inner solar system phenomena much more than we know today, an advanced culture, so to speak.

I believe seeing energy is a eye opener throwing dialog out like now must have to I caint that's impossible what kinda difrence can just I make that thise are trappings of slavery and stagnation an open mind cannot be easily trapped or pinned down when it lives in freedom and is guided by love mystery and curiosity as well as a serious addiction to creating things any way I feel you're worth this reply I don't feel you're a negative soul at all infact I deam you a bit inspirational and a fairly digestible and goid at teaching hard headed folks like me self any way peace love and keep kicking ass like you do and if you could please remember nine of it is mythology unless it's all mythology
