As someone who owned a similar truck (Crew Cab 89 F-350 4x4 460 EFI) I can tell a difference in the throttle response just by the video. Normally videos don’t do things justice so this would probably make the truck real fun in person.

@ 460EFIguys Do you have bolt-on throttle bodies for an 84 460? Searched your site a bit and didn’t see anything for the Sniper throttle body kits.

I love my 97 F-250 460 efi 4x4 crew cab and they are not kidding about throttle response and barely touching the throttle. Very impressed with my 460efiguys set up.
Wow! We just did a Sniper upgrade on an 88 F250 - 460 build. Would have pulled the trigger more easily had I seen this before hand. Also those guys in WY would have been great to consult with. Our truck is has a 3-speed auto. We are about 2 months in after the sniper and it has been great. I also use ours as a work truck in the firewood biz. Hauled 8 big loads of logs out of a job site on 26’ flatbed trailer with it earlier earlier this week. It performed great.
Russell @ 460 EFI Guys set up my 91 7.5L that I installed in a 1965 30' motorhome with his throttle body and stand alone engine wire harness. I have only done a break in on my home made engine/trans chassis but she fired up on first crank and sounded Sweet! Russell was Super helpful on the phone explaining set up and answering my many questions. Highly recommend The 460 EFI Guys.

I learned yo drive in dad's 86' f350 with the 460 & t19 transmission. It was a 12 year old flatbed dually with straight pipes and a lincoln pipeliner welder, but i thought i was playing a musical instrument with those pipes and that gear shift.
If my Dad's F350 with the 460 was still around I would buy this for him. He had the single cab with the ZF5 transmission.
Heck with a port and polish, head shave to tighten up the compression with some flat tops and a comp computer friendly cam up grade that transmission and rear end sure would catch hell. I have owned a few f-250's with 460's in them and they were all torque monsters. I have a deceased uncle that has a 87 brick nose f-250 460 4bbl not efi with over 700,000 dealer serviced miles on it that has been left to me that i have to go get. This truck was used on a cattle farm and has been thru more hell than most chevy's / dodges of the same period could ever stand. He hauled round bailed hay from alabama to kentucky, indiana, oaklahoma via 36 foot gooseneck trailer and as i am told the c6 transmission has never ever been rebuilt. I am also told it still runs and drives but will not idle good and backfiring, bet the timing chain jummped and told it leaks oil outta all gaskets and seals. May not be worth messing with but i spent many miles in that truck going with him hauling cattle, tractors, hay. I remember coming back from oklahoma empty had took hay out, my uncle was sleeping i was running 90 man that truck had gobbs of power. Gas mileage hummm bout 6 loaded 11 empty with trailer But you could still find 85 cent gas at a race track gas station back then. Uncle died at 95 years of age and smoked 2 packs of winston cigarettes a day, skin like leather, kicked, snorted, cussed, and worked his ass off for what he had. He thought if you did not have a ford truck a john deere tractor you did not have shit.

@@jaredkish8716 for general putting around, which engine feels more get-up-and-go feeling? I know my 82 smogged up chevy van with the 350, th400, and 3.73 gears sure has excellent throttle response and pretty sure it would smoke the hell out of my neighbors 7.3 (without a load obviously). I am attracted to deisels like the dark side but am afraid of the costs, plus I can pick up 460 trucks locally all the time. Just would like a review of sorts between the two monsters, 7.3 vs 460.
@@alanshepard1561 My dad had a 1996 f350 with a 460 and the ZF5 transmission, I currently have a 2000 f350 with the 7.3 and the ZF6, after driving both the 460 definitely has more snap once you stomp on the throttle, while the 7.3 ramps up and has more grunt starting at much lower rpm’s. Just today I was going up a hill in 2 wheel drive in first gear and didn’t have to touch the throttle, just let the 7.3 idle the truck up hill.

Yes built for torque. Add some hp and these 460 easy for 1200 HP stock bottom end. Add a trick crank and big cam with good flowing heads. My 460 is 834 hp and 985 ft lbs torque. Torque moves it all. Hp ain't much vs torque numbers

Ordered the same 2 parts about a week ago. Received the incorrect throttle body (had a different hookup for throttle and cruise control cables) so once the correct one gets here I'm hoping to do a video on it as well. My truck with headers and egr removed (automatic trans) scoots from 0 to 60 in a hair over 7 seconds right now. Really looking forward to making a direct comparison once I get it all installed.
I got it installed. It runs better than it did before but not by much. Will update as I continue using the truck. Got TPS voltage too low/high code though So I guess its time to compare resistances between the old TPS and this new one.

the spoof plug for the egr delete is a helluva lot easier to avoid the check engine light. I bought the twisted smog kit, but that wiring harness job is too damn tight.

Man I have a 460 and my engine needs to rebuilt . No on wants to do it for a reasonable price so I was trying to buy a long block rebuilt . My luck is there isn't any anywhere.

If heard that Ford pulled timing out of the newer 75 to 95 year 460. And if you put a 1970 429 timing set on your 460, I have an 88 it will turn it into a beast. I think 8 degrees more! And a cheap mod.

You can buy the timing chain off of comp cams
88 to end of production 460 EFI engines have straight up cam timing.
72 to 87 carbed engines have retarded cam timing as do the later carbed F53 chassis.

I've been debating on getting this thing for some time now, i want to get the atom tcm as well because i believe they can communicate with each other, my transmission is a stage 3 monsyer transmission that absolutely hates the stock computer and i felt like making it standalone and not bothering with this intake, now i think ill get both

You are having a way too much fun with that outfit! I like your approach on upgrades. Im trying to get some better gas mileage out of a 91 F350 with a E4OD. My view is if the engine is running optimum the gas mileage should improve. How do you think this upgrade with adding a good dual exhaust might affect mileage? This is a very low mileage engine, runs good, just real thirsty.

Really jealous of this truck. I have a 95, 5.8. I get horrible mileage. Somewhere around 8-9 mpg. I just started getting into cars since I got my license so I don’t really have the mechanical knowledge to diagnose an issue or fix said issue.

As the owner of a 92 with the same setup and EFI guys hardware one thing is for sure, after that episode you are getting ready to switch tanks. Just kidding... I speak from some experience though.
I'd like to see about 10k lbs hooked up to it and see what it does. Can't wait to see a boat tow.

Anyone looked at modifying the hood for a ram air? Once you do the throttlebody? Also point out to twisted smoke module is not waterproof , No not a know it all I asked Russle it needs to be Safe and sealed from water so I’m looking at getting a plastic box to mount on the firewall to put mine in so try not to have this module exposed as in this video the switch is not waterproof.

Only the zf5, pre 94 was zf5-42, 94 and newer got the updated zf5-47
Hoping you might be able to help. I am looking at a 95 f350 drw 4x2 long bed with manual 5 speed. It has a 7.5 460. I have a camper I'd be pulling that weighs 10k loaded. Has anyone towed this much with these specs? Any issues with stability or stopping? Thanks
My old truck was a stock 89 f250 two wheel drive with the 460 5 speed and it would pretty good towing heavy loads but this upgrade from 460efiguys.com is the way to go
I got a 1 ton dulley 460 motor home that's cut down 7000 lbs with carb that would eat that all day long. No bore no stroke factory heads 1986. Carb is the way to go.
