I feel like Pauline and Diddy are basically confirmed. Wave 6 is the final wave, and I think Nintendo would put the most popular characters there. I don’t think they would put a spot in for Chargin Chuck, but Pauline and Diddy? Yeah, there aren’t many options. And while I would like Funky to make his return, I feel like Nintendo likes putting in characters with somewhat new stats, and when Funky is sometimes considered to just be a reskin of Donkey, I don’t know if they would bring him back. Although it would get more sales.

Cairo and Wario Colosseum contradict Mario Kart Tour's datamines, especially the former. With Wario Colosseum, at least there's a very small chance of an ID gap being opened for it.
Regarding characters, I see people predict these 2 as well, not because of they want to but because of weight class. Birdo and Kamek are Medium weight, while Wiggler and Petey are Heavy weight, which only leaves 2 for Light weight.
The problem with lightweights is that Paratroopa & Captain Toad are the only existing lightweights not in 8DX, but they’re also clones and clone characters in Mario characters have been despised upon by the fanbase
in the datamines for MK8DX the wii track in the acorn cup was supposed to be maple treeway in the files it was found that it was the second track in wave 6 but maple treeway came early in wave 3 replacing waluigi stadium so now it’s going to be a gcn track instead of a wii track
I’m really hoping for Diddy Kong to be in 8DX, he’s been mistreated in Tour with having all of his top shelf tracks having Coin box, lucky 7, boomerang or giant banana characters in his tracks and being the only legacy character without a single alt in the game, and it would be heartbreaking for a character as iconic as Diddy to just rot in Tour until the servers shuts down

Other than order which I don’t really care about, that track selection is the exact same one I have. Again the GCN tracks are still something people argue back and forth about but simply: DK Mountain is a much more recent remake in Tour that really wouldn’t have been remade if they didn’t plan on adding it in the BCP. There’s a ton of other reasons backing off it’s inclusion but that would make this comment really long, and Mushroom Bridge is still likely coming because 1: they aren’t going to replace a retro prefix, they only did on a nitro because they most likely scrapped it and there’s no IDs or assets regarding another nitro in Mario Kart Tour after Piranha Plant Pipeline, 2: It was still internally going to be a Wave 5 track so even though it got pushed back to Wave 6, at this point “difficulty” doesn’t really apply anymore to the retros, and 3: literally there’s NO OTHER GCN TRACK THEY CAN CHOSOE FROM! There’s no more GCN tracks in Tour’s datamines and even if there were, Mushroom Bridge would still be the most likely pick, and I don’t think they’ll choose both DK Mountain and Dino Dino Jungle as the last 2 GCN tracks. Now hear me out... I haven't done deep research on the assets but ive heard there are assets already attached to one or both of the nitros supposed to come out in wave 6. Im just speaking from simple logic but we've only got one nitro each wave, but how could they have two piranha nitro tracks? Im not sure if its possible but there could be a wave 5 repeat where one of them get scrapped for a different retro as well?
No we’re getting both. Pipeline isn’t supposed to be based on Piranha Plants. It’s meant to be called Pipe Canyon so I don’t think Nintendo will care if we get both of them in Wave 6

I really don't think its worth having Mushroom Bridge in wave 6. It's too easy and we just got Moonview Highway in wave 5. The same thing goes with DK Mountain. Don't want any more similar looking tracks again in wave 6.
I almost entirely agree with you on this! The one thing I disagree with is Mushroom Bridge. I think it clashes way too hard with Shroom Ridge in both name and to-an-extent theme, not to mention Moonview has a bridge section and the bomb cars! Rather, I think we could be getting Dino Dino Jungle and DK Mountain. SCS referencing Sunshine Airport by name makes me think it was designed for 8 Deluxe and not Tour, so the DDJ reference might mean it was going to be the Wave 5 GCN track, releasing with SCS.

The track flows completely separately from any other Tour track, I wouldn’t be surprised if the mobile game was an afterthought in terms of gameplay. Especially with how Pipeline seems to possess somewhat janky controls as well, suggesting it was made for the BCP.

N64 Wario Stadium isn’t happening. Too many Wario tracks are in the base game, and it would clash with GCN Waluigi Stadium and the existing DS Wario Stadium in the base game.
Plus, you’re missing the additional city track we’re getting besides Tour Rome Avanti.
Also, Piranha Plant Cove and Piranha Plant Pipeline won’t have Tour prefixes. They’ll be listed as nitros rather like Ninja Hideaway and Merry Mountain
