Premium Magic Store in The Netherlands still has got some I believe..
This is not a book, but a gigantic encyclopedia! Sometimes I take it into my hands, read a few pages, but it is a really tough read and I will probably never finish it! It is full with gems, but one has to work really hard to possess them! I especially like his faro notes, there are some brilliant ideas there. It's a pity that the videos of Marlo are rare and have poor quality, but they clearly show what a beautifully elegant style he had. I would recommend Marlo Without Tears for an intro to Marlo's magic. It is also rare and has a plain typewriter style, but it is much easier to digest than RTC or Cardially Yours.

Happy Holiday's Dave - Well, I took your advice in October about Ed Marlo's Book and FINALLY found a brand new COPY. I purchased it for $89 and I think that's about what you said they were selling for. My goal is to take some "baby steps" with this "Magic Text Book" and hopefully go from good to best. Your advice is always excellent and this book review is no exception. Thanks again.

Marlo had like multiple variation for variations of tricks. That's how much of a GOAT Marlo was.

After searching for months, I was lucky to find my version of this book on ebay in August. I paid a much higher price but I didn't hesitate buying it. It's worth every penny! My favourite part of this book so far is "seconds, centers & bottoms"

Little late to the game here but I’ve been doing card magic for about 10 years now and Revolutionary Card Technique has material for everyone. There’s something in here that you will use. The misdirection palm is (in my opinion) the best thing here

The one thing I learned reading this book is when Jay Sankey says you stole that move you just invented, Ed Marlo did it first.

Without intending to be contradictory it seems that there has to be other reasons why good contemporary magic books are hard to find aside from the fact that they're "friggin awesome" and their single print run." Magic books by the Dover publishing company are excellent publications, they've been around for decades, and can be found practically in any chain bookstore. What's the deal with contemporary publishers? It seems that making short print runs of good contemporary magic books is making tons of money for "resellers." Are contemporary magic book publishers afraid their books will not have a high enough demand? How has Dover been able to continue making their books available? Just curious (and frustrated) with the magic books industry, and not being able to locate the books desired at a REASONABLE price.
books are typically only reprinted if there is a high demand - publishers print one run and when they're gone - they're gone. DOVER can reprint theirs because THEY OWN everything (they don't have to pay a magician royalties) Plus DOVER has been around since 1941 and are a major player. Most books today are published by the author (so they have to front all the capital) or VANISHING INC or other much smaller printers

WHO'S AFRAID OF INVISIBLE THREAD?) I'd also look at the Michael Ammar's Easy to Master Thread Miracles videos.

If someone is in magic for about half year and doesent know who Marlo is (and I dont mean heard of him, I mean KNOW who he is) thats a SURE sign you are doung something wrong.
You just MUST go over the work of Marlo, Vernon, Fred Kapps (imho best magician that EVER lived, just mho tho), Lorraine, there are like 15-20 names you MUST know. Not inside out, but be introduced to their most famous routines, their thinking, etc,
For fucks sake Marlo is the FATHER of the term "cardician" and thats for a reason.
