- Ed Marlo is, and always will be one my greatest inspirations. His exacting approach to sleight of hand really appealed me and it made a big difference to my self expression.
Here is one of Eddie’s masterpieces.
Special thanks to my buddy Andrew Wimhurst
I met Marlo in 1957. First magic I ever saw.
What a beautiful performance ♣️♥️♠️♦️
Very very great effect Mr. Vincent...👏
My favourite card routine I have seen you perform this before and it's just brilliant. I first came across you on Penn and Teller about 9 or 10 years ago and have followed you since. I'm not a magician just a great lover of close up magic and you are the top of the mountain.
Martyn Jago thank you Martyn🙏🏽♣️❤️♠️♦️
Really great to hear about your past Mike and all the great you meet.
Michael you never disappoint. I believe in Magic when I watch you perform. Thanks for your passion and tips.
A gracious gentleman. So smooth. A True Master.
Thank you Michael. This is one of my favorite card tricks.
About 7 years ago I first saw this beautiful card trick and was so impressed by your performance. It looked so smoothly. It encouraged me to dive deep into this world.
Thank you for these videos that you share on UA-cam. It make people remember that there is something special among usual stuff.
I also feel the need to add one more comment. The first time I ever saw Michael was on Penn and Teller Fool Us. From the moment he took the stage I was immediately impressed with his confidence. After watching his first performance I felt something change and shift inside of me. I saw beautiful magic perfectly executed with grace, dignity and you could feel his warmth and charm thru the tv screen.
I decided right then and there to devote myself to reaching this level of mastery both with skill and love and care for my audience.
David Blaine was the one who inspired me to go buy my first deck of cards. Bill Malone and Ed Marlo are the two who helped push me into the direction for further growth and understanding and Michael showed me not just what a master can look like but how he performs, how he cares for the audience and the magic and how to never stop learning and to always continue pushing ourselves to that next plateau.
Michael will always be the example of what I think Magic should look and feel like.
I want my magic to look like Michaels.
Thank you, Mike. Looking good.
Hey Steve, together we keep Marlos legacy alive. The work you do is truly awe inspiring x
Wonder story. Loved it very much.
I was introduced to you by luck last week. I have been intrigued ever since. Incredible skill and gentlemanly personality.
Hi Michael, that was just great.
Marlo Marlo Marlo 👌🏻 Alan did exactly the same with me! He had a Yoda like flavour behind that counter but with cigarette in hand. Much like you I was browsing and only young 14, I’d heard of the great Dai Vernon thru other books as was keen to find his non break DL that he reportedly was able to do. When I mentioned to Al he shows me his twisting the aces👍🏻. However after many mins of chatting he reverted back to his Yoda and said Marlo you need Marlo😂! I walked away with miracle change, side steal and more inner secrets of card magic they were being read as I walked out the shop! 😂😂😂 Marlo was the master no doubt he set new goals, new boundaries, new techniques in fact it makes me laugh when someone on UA-cam state I came up with this idea!! 😂😂😂😂😂 no you didn’t that was covered 60 years ago etc. Always a pleasure Mick 👌🏻 watching you perform and demo! ✊🏻 next tribute has to be elmsley or Vernon 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great Master magician! Good advice about life also! You inspire me to improve my material.
I have been watching your recent videos this week and am just amazed by everything. This little routine is no exception! I'm in awe every time I see your work. Thanks for sharing these videos!
Love it, Mike!
Fantastic
I love this routine and what a beautiful performance! Love love love this.
I was introduced to Ed Marlo through being a fan of Bill Malone. As I began my research into Ed Marlo I was immediately transported to a world of real miracles.
I watched videos of Ed Marlo performing and I said that is how I want to look handling cards.
Studying Ed Marlo is not always easy. Although through his teachings anyone can pick up some things faster than they may have thought and some things may take your whole life to master.
The Marlo path is a wonderful devotion and if anyone puts in the time and patience and
practice you will see how a lot of other effects come faster and easier to perform that you are trying to learn from other masters too.
The Marlo path is sometimes hard, sometimes soft and sometimes hopeless and if you stay on the path you will have strengths and understandings of Magic that only continue to grow and improve your whole life.
Ed Marlo was incredibly smart, warm and kind to every soul that crossed his path and he would happily sit down with anyone who wanted to learn.
For younger Magicians yes please buy the Marlo books and watch the Bill Malone dvds. You will also be taken into a world of real miracles and beautiful Magic.
Brilliant!
Fantastic Michael !!!
What I enjoy about you Michael Vincent is not only your card-effects but also your personality. In watching your Magic Castle performances I notice how you congenially handle the audience-participants, that is, you make them feel like a family. That is the advantage of close-up magic--of creating that Intimacy. Also I like that your smiles are not only congenial but also mischievious at times. That impishness is part of the charm and fun.
I've been following your career for only 2 years but I've learned a lot from watching you. While I'm not a professional magician, I am about your age and I've been a fan of card handling since my teens. I've noticed that you provide is a very well rounded approach to magic that's not at all "slight heavy" and flashy but instead, presented in a very digestible format that appeals to almost anyone of any age or skill level. It's not just about the mysteries that you so flawlessly execute, but more the presentations themselves. Those of us who have never studied magic are intrigued and entertained by the level of creativity. Those of us who have studied the craft at any length are STILL left in awe at the level of good discipline and talent you posses. I personally feel humbled, yet somehow, never discouraged watching you perform. I've studied Vernon, Marlo, S.W. Erdnase and others, whom I hold in very high regard. It took me some time to understand why these men are set apart from other magicians. In my mind, you're the only contemporary that rivals their legend. God bless you Michael.
Thank you Ronald. I appreciate that very much.👍🏽♣️❤️♠️♦️
That was a great version Mike.i working on the one from Malone mets marlo.dvd
nicely done michael, very impressive
lovely to see a true pro talk about one of the magic heavyweights , marlo is my favourite out of the old legends , RCT is one of my all time favourite books , and i believe marlo made every bit as big a contribution to card magic as the proff ...love hearing old magic tales
Thank you for the history lesson and the absolutely beautiful routine. I have been a fan of your work for may years and you insipre all of us who apppreciate the craft and its history.
Hi Michael I just wanted to say thank you, seeing your magic 10 years ago on fool us (Your first appearance) and most specifically seeing you colour change those 4 aces had me hooked. Eversince then I have been practicing magic and have enjoyed every moment of it and has helped me become the person I am today.
Enternally greatful
James :-)
Omg this is beautiful 😍magic in its purest form
Michael, you turned me on to Ed Marlo’s side steal a few years ago. I managed to get a hold of the Revolutionary book and couldn’t believe how exacting it was. Wish I had it ages ago.
And by the way, your performance... OH. MY. GOD. I’m floored. Best triumph EVER.
Thank you for making these inspirational, passion-filled videos. They really feed the soul, sir!
Thanks once again for your inspiring and encouraging talks, your stories and snipets of the legends are always interesting. Your card handling is exquisite and stands among the
giants you graciously admire. I look forward to all and anything your willing to share.
Thank you dear sir, until next time.
Michael, I don’t think it would be hyperbole for me to state that this week has been an embarrassment of riches in terms of your uploads. They have been wonderful. The aspect of them that I am enjoying almost as much as the great effects is the stories and the rich history of our wonderful art form. My thanks to you.
This has been one of my favourite tricks since I saw Andrew wimhurst perform it, your handling is perfect 👌
One of the best things about the lock down is your UA-cam videos - please keep them coming
Beautiful.
My God! So beautifully displayed!
Beautifully done Mr V! 👍👍
Jeez! That was beautiful!! Nice work!!
Beautiful performance! I love it 👍👍👍
You are the best man
Your skill with magic has made my mornings in during this pandemic so much more tolerable. There's such a shot of excitement and energy that enters my soul when seeing one of your routines. I received my copy of Dai Vernon's biography yesterday after your recommendation from one of your previous videos.
You are going to love the Vernon biography. I certainly hope that volume 2 (1942-1992) comes out at some point??
Awesome!! I appreciate you sharing so much with us. I hope to see you in person some day in the future.
I’m really enjoying your tribute videos Michael as well as the important messages contained within. Recently it inspired me to make amends with an old friend in magic to live life more positively. Will you be doing one on another Chicago great we’ve sadly lost, Simon Aronson? I’d love to hear how he inspired some of your magic.
brilliant!
Love this!! Michael, I remember when I had started working on Marlo's Wrist Turn Pass from M.I.N.T. Volume 2. You were working at the Magic Castle that week and we sat down in the library for a brief period. I showed it to you and you had some really good feedback related to the sleight's "motivation". Today, it's a move I use in one of my regular routines and I took your advice to heart. Keep these videos coming. Thank you Michael!!!
Absolutely delightful!! Thanks 🙏
Thank you for the wonderful performance.
Hi Michael, could you share with us your beautiful handling of the Brainwave trick by Vernon. Thanks you for inspiring us in this difficult days. God bless you!!!
In two weeks of videos you've taught me more about life than magic sorry to say.
Felix Rojas no need to apologies. This is the point, life is the point, magic or the study and performance are just an expression of life. Your expression is all that matters.
All Hail Master Vincent
Sir, since you are a great magician and reader, learned from the greatest magicians at all times, would be nice of you do a series of UA-cam videos, talk about each trick and performing it in the way tells the story? I really enjoy to listen to you when you take us back on time amd talk about different tricks and events, more importantly I really like your positivity ,in time the stress is very dominant....👍
This was unreal.
I love your magic and I want to be like you.
As a boy you were lucky to have access to magic books in a local library and access to a magic shop.
I totally acknowledge that Harshit because cards was the only prop I could afford to buy with my pocket money. I save all my pocket money just to buy one deck
Hello mr.Vincent, thank you for this beautiful video.Ed Marlo is my idol.I have one question,do you know where can i learn his Ace os spades trick from the video The Legend?
I think he published a very detailed version in one of his early Marlo’s Magazines; i think volume ll.
Failing that try his Paris Tapes, he explains it there. These Tapes were recorded by Jean Fare
@@MichaelVincentMagic Thanks a lot for a fast answer mr.Vincent, really appreciate it! Will check them out.His finesse, charisma and technical skill was superb imo, have a great day!
@@mosconi4539 cheers
Just curious. I'm working through Vernon's tribute to Nate Leipzig at the moment. Was Leipzig the first performer to utilize the side steal sleight? (Leipzig of course referred to it as the side swipe)
I don’t know, he certainly was among the first to make use of this concept
Hey Michael, do you know if Darwin has ever met Marlo? I was just wondering. He only talked about meeting Vernon but never mentioned Marlo in his books or lectures.
morning
