We have a retired police officer in my church who helps out with the safety team training and he would tell us stories on how some cops, not all, fire their weapon only a few times a year. I am by no means an expert but I got to think that if you're in a job where one of your primary tools is a firearm, you should be training with that tool regularly. My teenage boys have better gun handling and safety skills than those knuckleheads.

Frogman, I 💯 percent agree with you and I'm retired Law Enforcement after 23 years. We can't just sit back and lie to ourselves about what we witness. Every malfunction was shooter induced in this video. To think this was a plain clothes undercover type team is just crazy to me. We must demand better! Young Officer's and Deputies please seek out firearms, tactical and even medical training from an outside private source. You will thank me later! Just really bad training like usual. I live in Oregon and asked my local department officers if they trained at Thunder ranch. They had never heard of it. My cousin in Utah is an officer ( SWAT). He trains constantly with a few of his officers on the own dime in the mountains. So they train with their department and they train on their own. Also going to outside the department train facilities. He takes life seriously!

Jason, so glad to see this video from your perspective. Great critique and thank you. You are dead nuts right on target. Yep puns intended. I know I know we all have gotten way beyond being so tired of “well back in my day we did it this way,” however, in my particular case, I want to share briefly an anecdote from “back in my day.” In Ga. Law enforcement certification is governed and regulated by POST council (peace officers standards and training council). I became an Academy Instructor early in my career. Part of becoming an instructor involved getting trained, in the same way a school teacher is to become an instructor. Part of that training required each candidate to develop a training module model for our final grade and certification. I chose firearms and tactics. When I submitted my plan, I scored a perfect score, however, my Skipper, when I got back home called me in to his office which was not unusual. He congratulated me on my record in school and then tossed my submitted lesson plan over to me and asked wtf is this? I glanced through it and acknowledged that it was my final project for my final grade. He grinned at me and then tossed me a letter that POST had sent along with my plan. The letter said in part, that my plan was outstanding and that it had been shared for peer review with ALL major law enforcement academies in the US, including NYPD, LAPD/Sheriff, Miami PD, Georgia State Patrol/police, FBI and “others.” 100% gave my plan 5 stars, except Ga. POST. They gave me the 5 stars but with a caveat that it would NOT be approved for implementation into Georgia’s Stsndards and Training curriculum. WHY? Because, the Council said it was TOO aggressive and that it would send the wrong message to officers both old and young and could potentially frighten the public. The POST director added a personal note saying, he “loved it from start to finish and from front to back, but it was at least 20 years ahead of its time. Seeing the tactics and skill level of these guys caused me PTSD ( not actually ) over how this looked like 30 years ago’s tactics and deployment. I am with you 110% in the critique and evaluation. We are in deep do foo if this is how officers are being trained now, for this type of situation.

Hey brother, let me help you. Straighten your left arm and turn your thumb to the ground. See where the muscles separate (technically between the brachioradialis and the flexor cardi radialis) from your outside elbow and going down and across diagonally toward your thumb side? 4 inches down that muscle split from your outer elbow bone is a pressure point. Push on that spot and you will feel the pressure point deep in your forearm. If you massage that point by repeatedly rubbing downward toward your hand from that pressure point your hiccups will disappear within a minute or so. Only rub between those muscles and only towards your hand, never back up towards the elbow. Push moderately hard down into that muscle mass while rubbing. Works on kids and babies as well.

    • @SnakeBitBob1982
      @SnakeBitBob1982 Місяць тому

@@frogmantactical Your hiccups are caused by your diaghram spasming. That pressure point in your forearm is associated with your diaphram. The massage in the direction of your hand relaxes the diaphram. Takes a minute or three, but it will do the trick. It works better if you have someone else do it while you concentrate on steady breathing and relaxing, but you can do it yourself as well.

do officers continue to train or do they just pass whatever requirement and get rectified yearly? If so you would think they would take extra time to become proficient considering they work a job that puts their life and others on the line. I am a nurse practitioner in a hospital and I still take time to learn new treatments and to keep updated in the medical field on my own time. I would expect the same from police.

Several guys (?) emptying mag after mag into one guy? How many rounds? 200-300? This is a 'get some' orgy, not a defensive police engagement. It's also a legal defense tactic. The more everyone piles on, the more the judge and jury percieve the 'perp' as being extremely dangerous, ie...it is a type of legal scam for the cops to get away with something they might not otherwise get away with. It would be interesting to know the location and context.

Personally I think a lot of departments around the country need to start retraining because that was an embarrassment. They can't clear their weapons properly also not being safe with backstops and crossfire.

I’m not in law enforcement or military but even I could see that the officer was incompetent in this firefight, the amount of times he flagged the other officers. The fact he uses them as human shields and then tries to be Rambo, no way would I want him near me in a firefight

I guess what I don’t understand is that it seems like a lot of these shootings the officers just pull the trigger as fast and hard as they can and basically empty the gun. To me it almost looks like justified murder. I’m very pro LE but I just don’t get it.
I remember back in highschool talking to my school resource officer in the 90s. I asked him as a young high school kid what he would do. And he said pull the trigger until the gun stops working then reload . This always stuck with me and this was back in the day when Fairfax PD “best police in the country” according to them. Carried 226s and 228s.
I’ve trained with a lot of SEALs, Army SFs and have seen a line of videos of actual shootings in those communities and they don’t seam to act like that at all everything seems very controlled. While in these videos everything seems like just chaotic.
All these cops have Gucci equipment and carry all the latest and greatest gear of an “operator” but everything seams like just flat out panic. REFERENCE Acorn video.
Honest question. I feel like cops think they are soldiers and are fighting like soldiers when in reality they need to fight like cops. I get it you need to shoot till the threat stops. But if you read books from Rex Appelgate, who got in more gun fights then anyone in LE and walked away, he did it with an old fashion wheel gun.
So my question is perception based how do you change it from cops looking, feeling like Delta/SEAL operators and actually going back I to being cops who are service based?

And that's why you wear level 4 front and back. Lol I've talked to officers their like well the threat will be in front of me, not always. During high stress situations and officers not that well trained on firearms is a bad combination.

Yeah this isnt supprising at all to me. Ive met a lot of LEO guys who think they are the next USPSA grand master get humbled at USPSA matches. Having to move, shoot, reload all under a timer is enough stress to make them suck. It also makes most other people suck at first as well. But non LEOs dont usually show up with a over inflated ego and go around and toot off to anyone who will listen about how great they are because they are in a certian career field.

Just watch Robocop 3 regarding your thoughts on other agencys or countrys policing our country we're headed that way. I think it's also possible Vets might end up having to step up again bc if these deportations do start, normal everyday cops won't have the tactical knowledge needed to face these threats. This administration has created a ripple effect that will be felt through more than one administration.

You have said so much truth. History repeats itself. In biblical times times those who did not repent, and obey Gods regulations and decrees was punished. He removed His hand unto they cried out and returned to Him. I’m afraid as a nation we have moved so far from God that it will be he’s to return. Not saying we can’t but saying it will be hard.
Thank you for your service and the truth you speak.
    God bless.
