    Good video Jason. I've trained in alot of different martial arts as well as training with guys in the operator community. I've seen the butterfly block before and I like that it causes damage to the bad guy. What do you think about maintaining contact and controlling the arm instead of resetting?

    • @frogmantactical
      @frogmantactical  2 місяці тому

      That’s the next step. You don’t want to sit there and block over and over. Consider it protection and setup for what you said, contact/control.

      Sometimes YT picks whatever comments to delete after you post and sometimes even as you post too. I always long-click and “Select All” then “Copy” my comment before posting in case my comments get blipped out. YT always claims innocence about it but I call BS on them. It happens way too much on patriotic and tactical channels.

    Most knife attacks are surprising and vicious. Very little defence with such attacks. Your defense tactics looks good on someone who is threatening, and actually showing it to you. Most people aren't like us, with the head on swivel. Maybe cover some about surprised attacks.

    Thanks for the video 👍🏻 Personally I think everyone should have a knife. Choose either a folder or even better a fixed blade in addition to a pistol. You should also train as much with the knife & some type of hand to hand combat as you do all your firearms.

    The demonstrator with the knife has his biceps cross-section that is 4 times smaller than that of the bare hands defendant. Maybe they can change sides and re-do the demonstration?

    the problem with knife attacks is typically they are going to cut towards your arms and hands and even the face. and almost anyone with a knife has the same ability to cut the same thing you are trying to use as a defense and during actuall intensity parts slip, grip, grab etc. defend a knife coming after your hands and arms. the only way is to take full control over the weapon hand and dominate the situation. you have to train being all the way in or all the way out with distance control. timing and intensity is everything. i do respect what you are doing btw im not trying to say your doing anything wrong training is always important in everyway way thank you for the video Frogman maybe one day we can colab

    Bro 1) Thank you for your service.
    Im not criticizing (you've had the best training there is), but you are capable of engaging physically (very). Women, older individuals, or those not that able, I teach the same with the exception of going for the eyes after the block. Your thoughts? Again there are a lot of options but what you can do most can't. Again I am not poo pooing on this, I would do the same. I'm just looking for your input.
    God bless, I love your stuff.

      Your best bet is probably going to be finding someone from a local combatives, krav maga, etc. gym. You'll probably find a lot of people to practice with, but you'll also want some guidance so you don't end up practicing poor techniques.

    I keep hearing the best thing to do is to run away, but I’ve seen videos were people run away and they fall and end up dead. I know people that didn’t run but fought back and didn’t end up stabbed and they are not trained..

    • @MickAngelhere
      @MickAngelhere 6 днів тому

      I’ve been attacked by people with knives and it’s not fun. The best defence against a knife attack is that if you have that option is to run as distance is your friend in a knife attack.
      There are a couple of reasons why people fall , when running away from a knife attack is A: They have been been injured by the assailant or assailants prior to the final assault.
      B: Blind panic is another reason, I’ve seen people running blindly into traffic trying to escape the threats to them and end up badly injured or dead as a result.
      Blind panic is exactly that , they literally don’t see what’s in front of them, they can trip over the smallest thing that normally wouldn’t make them fall.
      There is fear that can save your life and a fear that can kill you.
      The secret is to be able to control your fear so that it doesn’t control you .
      There was one time when I was with a girlfriend and three young men came at us and I knew straight away what they were going to do,now there was no option of running away as I had my girlfriend to consider.
      So what did I do?
      I went straight for them , going for the one who had the knife, telling them that when I get my hands on the knife I was going to cut them to pieces.
      Well they were not expecting that and they took off .
      Was I lucky? Yes I was in getting away with it, but at the same time if one is going on the offensive, you have to go in over 100% and with full intention of causing harm , to the point that when it’s over that your girlfriend then tells you that you were more scary than the muggers .
      I’m not a trained fighter in any sense or being in the military, but someone who has seen their share of violence over the years.
      P.S
      The best defence against knives is to run and actually it’s the best defence against any form of violence, if you don’t need to fight then don’t

    Why wouldn’t you place ALL FOCUS on the wrist that is holding the weapon. To take control of the wrist with the edged or blunt weapon if you exhausted escape or drawing from the hip options?

    • @frogmantactical
      @frogmantactical  2 місяці тому +1

      Sometimes you’re caught off guard. Sometimes you just aren’t dialed in. The next stage is to control, then disarm, but blocking is to protect. You will most likely never get it controlled or disarmed right out of the gate. Possible but unlikely. When it’s choreographed like you see on the internet, of course it works every time!
      In the video, it’s just a demo for that particular skill set. In addition, an unskilled person struggles to learn to block, more less control or disarms starting out.
      If you want to be really versed you start at ground zero and blocking is ground zero in any art really. 🙏

    • @MickAngelhere

      Ummm I’m not sure if you have been attacked with knives, but in most countries it’s the most common weapon in attacks , simply because they are easily accessible and available to everyone.
      A friend of mine who’s a cop once said, never have an argument in the kitchen, because that’s where the knives are kept.
      Most people use only knives when they attack someone, very few will use two or another weapon.
      As for the majority of people who are attacked with knives , the majority don’t have any self defence skills whatsoever , the same goes for the person who is attacking them.
      I have fought some individuals who had martial arts training and cleaned them up , others who have trained and gotten absolutely clobbered. Why the difference?
      The ones who had the training that I cleaned up, lacked the one important thing needed in a fight and that is to be utterly ruthless in the fight.
      The ones who cleaned me up , had that and more and that was the training, which is something that I don’t have
