    Insanely good accuracy out of the box for both. Finishing on the Chinese movement was better than I expected. Buy what floats your boat. Great review.

    For people who think the Chinese movement is “just as good” you only need to look at 1:32 to see the difference in quality. Center whole at bottom not lined up, two pins on the flank are off center, the slots in the gears are rougher and larger than the Swiss version. There are many finish differences among the other parts as well. If you are a machinist these are immediately apparent.

      The world has changed a lot since then! The Chinese copy is already recognized by the German watch association. In eight years, they learned to produce quality. There is a copy that is more accurate than the Swiss original.

      exactly what i was thinking! YOU KNOW IF THEY FLAGSHIP MAKERS WERE NOT SO GREEDY(TUDOR selling watches for 4k-- IF they just sold them for 1k or so the 300$ replicas would go out of business and SALES WOULD BE 5x more

      @@donblade5405 You know there is 300$ watches with the ETA 2824-2 in it right ? And for that price you at least buy something made by people who leave a decent life, working decent hours and in good condition. Chinese copies makes way more profit per unit dont be foolish.

    OK, excellent! How about the A-2836 vs A-2813? Are there huge differences or just the same as the TC-2824 vs ETA 2824? What is the difference betenn 21J 21,600 BPH vs the 25J 28,800 BPH? I understand one has more BPHm but it makes a big difference to purchase one or the other? Thanks!

    I've had different experiences. Shanghai 2824, Seagul 2824 and Shancheng PT5000 are vastly different clones. The Shanghai has the cheapest materials and is 10-15+- seconds per day inaccurate. The Seagul is around 7-10-+ seconds per day inaccurate. The Shancheng is 5-10+- seconds per day inaccurate. The Shanghai and Seagul are rarely oiled, most are shipped completely dry and the winding sounds like sand grinding inside. Both have rotor noise, but the Shanghai is the loudest. The Glycine watch I bought with a GEN ETA 2824 is 1-3+- seconds per day inaccurate. The winding and rotor is completely silent.

    • @ces69
      @ces69 8 місяців тому

      Can’t argue with your experience but all I can say is that I have a number of replica watches, all under £100 that are accurate to within 2-6 seconds a day!
      Admittedly I had to regulate some of them but the little time doing so has been well worth it!
      Some of them are now more accurate than friends real Rolex GMT and Omega Seamaster!

    • @nikone4129
      @nikone4129 8 місяців тому

      @ces69 At that price they have a DG2813 movement inside. An $11 movement used extensively in cheap replicas. You will not get a 2824 clone in replicas that cheap.

    I am a Chinese guy who loves and adores Swiss Made watches whether they're affordable like the Swatch or more luxurious like a Tag Heuer or Omega. Generally speaking, most Chinese still very much desire owning a Swiss Made watches. There is something very special about a Swiss Made watch which can never be replaced. Originality and luxury. Just my opinion.

    An interesting video, thanks for sharing 👍.
    Is it not true that some of the Swiss watch manufacturers source a percentage of their parts from low cost such as China...and the Swiss government put restrictions on how many low cost sourced parts could be fitted in order to label the watches as Swiss made?
    Just on another point, have you seen the quality on some of the super clone watches that are out there now?

    The issue with Chinese movements is more to do with QC. Bits of dead skin, flecks of metal, cloth fibres. These are all things I've found in Chinese movements. Not to mention under oiling and over oiling.
    In this video, you've stripped and re-assembled both movements, so they are essentially properly assembled and lubricated.
    Out of the box a Chinese movement is a mixed bag- you can get lucky or can can get a bad one, whereas a Swiss one has likely had much better QC. Rebuilt and serviced, it's probably a wash between the two.

    this is crazy backthen we can tell if some watches is fake by opening the back, but now we cant, so the only way just spend a lot of money by going to the brand dealer to make sure we got the real one. omg, used watches has high risk to be fake now.

    For those people who not really know about Swiss movement:
    The fact is, ETA 2824 are no longer protected by copyright cause in Swiss their copyright for watch movement only valid for 20 years and 2824 are designed by last century around 1980's, therefore Sellita (another Swiss movement manufacturer who also supplying movements for branded watches like Tag/Tudor/Oris) had also cloned the 2824 and make their SW200 movement, with minor improvements.
    Conclusion: Yes, Chinese did cloned the 2824 movement design but legally speaking, they done nothing wrong cause the design are now free open to use.

    I make no bones about chinese products its entirely due to their quality control some are OK and some are not ...in fact I serviced a chinese 2824 and oiled it set it up in a cheap watch I had and it keeps 1 second a day at each position while wearing it over a week it was 100 % perfect . It's called pot luck but equally I had others where the jewels fell out . This in the issue consistency

    Good quality Chinese watches are here. I do NOT mean fake rip off`s in name only and glittery cheap things. The TC 2824 is an excellent movement. Just the same as the ETA and at half the price for 1 off. My customer cannot afford a lot of money so I am in the process of fitting a TC2824. to replace his broken and worn out movement in what was his fathers expensive watch over fifty years ago.. It will look identical when I have finished. Much cheaper than a time consuming and expensive repair where parts are very difficult to obtain and with some manufacturers operating a monopoly. The Chinese will soon take over and will not be satisfied until they have got 90% of the quality mechanical watch business. Vacheron, Patek, JLC etc will be lucky to survive long term, although hopefully there is always a discerning person who will pay these high prices for outstanding quality with the right name. Just my opinion but based on economic`s.

    the ETA is far more better quality and more consistent where the Chinese clone is a hit or miss every time . more debris /particles are found in both the 2130 and the 2824 clone . so you've got a lookalike mvmnt for 1 year or so and then lets talk about cost of service once its due. if and when the Chinese will advance to the next level and their QC is par to the Swiss then the cost wont be that much of a difference. i own a 2130 and a 2836a and the 2836 is far more consistent and more refined . " the cheapest option tends to be the more expensive on the long run" I'm not rich enough to afford cheap things "

This Comparison is a Fault step against a Swiss manufacturer called ETA, who spend a lot of investments, money, engineering hours and much more, to give to the watch-world a lot of respected Movements. This "Comparison" say only one thing - we are able to accept the Thief, who - with help of a criminal steps- can "delivered something for a half of price of Original". This Comparison can say about us, that we can accept the thiefs behavior and call it "assertivity in enterprising"... For me nothing else...

    So we have to trust what this video says as a reliable source?. The thing is, that nobody can be sure that both movements are what this video is stating, and to have a good serious test at least it should be made with more than a couple of movements and tested in a more scientific and serious way, for the show and for the Chinese "fanboys" this video is good, but it's just pure sensationalism!.
