@@PrizzaMike haha dude always good vibes watching your videos! Keep killing it on the 240! Been watching since I seen the insta post a year ago lol. Awesome content!
You would need the original tools to remade that panel. Metal springs a little back when it's stretched, and that has to be taken into account when pressing the panel. Even if a mold could be made from that panel, the parts that would came out from the press would be unusable because they won't retain the exact shape. It's fine if you want to save another car with it, but it probably won't be useful to recreate more and start a production batch from it.
I agree. Many of these cars were slowly disappearing/going “extinct” because of all the availability & conditions. Hopefully there was a manufacturer who can produce these parts from the mold based on the shown oem parts, given a licensing deal from Nissan, or the Nissan themselves to restock these parts (just like what they’ve done in every GT-R generations (R32,33, &34 + 35).
Man sometimes I have to cut car shell in parts and it kills me for while, but then I realise how many other projects can be rescued with this parts and I feel much better, just as you say. Keep up with this, love it.
Dude you’re such a motivating person. Probably really corny but that part about the plant growing in the car made me feel some kinda way. Their is always hope. Never give up. Definitely gonna have to cop one of those tees
My guy, I see you as a living legend at this point, and as the most massive positive symbol of never give up. You single handedly gave me hope for humanity again, after I've lost it throughout my life. Thank you.
Dude, I'm 47 and I love your videos. Not just for the content but for your general attitude to life. I wish I had my head on half as straight when I was young like you. You are an inspiration!! Love from Ireland
I know we like s-chasis because they are light. This series has given me a excellent look at how just soft unibody cars can be. Though I have definitely noticed , when pulling in and out of my driveway that has angles my hatch with a sunroof will creak in multiple places from the stress.
Sunroof models are notoriously weaker. But yeah it’s pretty pathetic how easy they split. I’m having issues around my shock towers, front driver and rear passenger are both splitting at the seams
The B-roll stuff is always cool. As a photographer I appreciate the little details that are in frame whether it be foreground, background, in focus, out of focus, or whatever it may be. It is like mini artistic masterpieces.
I think most people put in your situation would've probably just bought another shell and swapped the parts over. Its good to see how much you seem to care about 240's in general and keep your car going. Respect.
it is sad to see old cars go, it is the same with us people, their parts, (or human organs for context), go and serve to keep what is left of the cars on the road, (save someone's life), keep it up Mike, that 240weldZ is going to be nice and mint again

Crazy Mike and the work truck, maybe consider a 2nd gen odyssey? Sometimes you can get them for 1-2k. I took out my middle row and the back row lays flat so it has loads of room and I have coils for it. Something to consider maybe, amazing video as always!
The parts truck could really use some quick release doors with the amount of times you’ve had to take them off! I really like seeing cars do things outside of their original purpose.

Really enjoyed the filming of the b roll. But not so much the music I like when people leave the raw audio of what there doing. No hate just some constructive criticism love all the videos man. keep on keepin on
Just recently found your content and its amazing so far, enjoying what your doing. It hurts so much to see the shape your 240 is in but im so happy to see your getting it back on the road. I myself don't have a S chassis, but I relate to the not many 240s left sort thing. I'm in NZ and I bought a 2002 Nissan Avenir last year, W11 chassis. Ive been looking for parts and parts cars and for me to get what I need i have to travel 7-8hours north or 8+ hours south, just because this car has gotten so rare or people aren't parting. Anyway turns out one of my buddies who is 20mins down the road has a W10, the model before my one and it was blown up and rusted to bits so im just hoping that the parts it has matches with mine and are in decent condition lol. Really such a small world lol.
There are company’s out there that are specialized in making parts for classic cars / reverse engineering parts. I might have seen it once on a UK car show called “Wheeler dealers”
Surprised those doors don’t take themselves of when you go to get parts the amount of times they have been taken off to fit things in. Keep up the good work 👍
Bro hear me out, build a roof/trunk rack!! Your a fabricator so I know you can come up with a badass design, I have seen some on s13 coupes for hauling tires/ect. But it would make the “work truck” a lot more convenient!
i love the idea of keeping that quarter to have it remanufactured. many builds will be saved without having to go the fiberglass route also, what're you planning to do about that big dent on the driver's side sill?
The number of times that poor "work truck" has been partially disassembled and reassembled... /shakes head Maybe you should cut the roof and extend the back into a station wagon looking contraption... then you could have probably fit the entire shell in there... It was a shame about that shell though, but the bottom looked pretty trashed... couple that with the lack of a VIN, and salvaging whatever is still good is about all you can do. Too bad you cut that one at the bottom of the A pillars... Mine has paint badly bubbled up right where you cut through on both side... of course I'm focusing on other areas and haven't attempted to strip them back to good metal so I don't even know if I need replacements yet, but sometimes it pays to plan ahead and get ahold of what you need before you actually need it!
Little dents like the quarter panel one if you can get behind it take a small like children's basketball take all the air out so it's flat slide it in and re-inflate ill bet it'll take a good 75% of that out and leave 0 marks

Bro, seriously you got some mad skill to go this much into the metalwork on your journal on totally repairing your 240 .
Great idea on using a parts car, many builds will be saved when that quarter panel is able to be remanufactured!
You would need the original tools to remade that panel.
Metal springs a little back when it's stretched, and that has to be taken into account when pressing the panel. Even if a mold could be made from that panel, the parts that would came out from the press would be unusable because they won't retain the exact shape.
