Hi Bella, another great video!! I used to live in Las Vegas n had a hard time eating healthy because there are zero farms. I moved back to the Midwest and have endless access to meats, eggs, raw butter n raw milk. All from local farms and it feels so good to support local.

carnivore, 5 months, age 70, stable for 3 months. Was a rough road. I have a Keytone breathalyzer and seem to be staying on Keytones. I had a Stent installed 3 yrs ago, but quit all heart meds 1.5 years ago. Anyway, getting a full rack of new teeth, requiring 3 hours of out on the table time. Authorization for the Surgery requires a Echo Cardiogram, a Stress Test (likely combined with EC) plus blood work. I have the records from before the heart attack. Hopefully this will be conclusive Lab evidence of my significant improvements on carnivore. Living the Dream!

Key to staying in Ketosis.. No Keto Cheats!! I often do a Atkins protein shake 3g carbs no problem. Coffee is gone.. couldn't take any cream nomatter no lactose or not. Did Butter coffee for a while, but just gave it up instead. Cheese seems OK, Pecans OK, I grind my own meat using chuck steaks. Key is I eat what my dog eats.. Even scramble eggs! He will nOt eat hotdogs, any canned or dry dog food.. even primo. He's my Carni Taste Tester! Also found Bacon Bits.. seem to be real bacon.. seems to work for an occasional finger snack, but not sure of it's purity. Real Bacon is amazing.

@@markhall3434 Ooh Bacon Bits are not a good choice, unless it specifies that it's REAL bacon bits. The regular ones are awful :
Texturized Soy Flour · Canola Oil · Salt · Caramel Color · Yeast Extract · Natural & Artificial Flavor (which can be anything really) and dyes made of toxic chemicals.
Best to just make bacon and chops it up! 🥓

Same in the United States. The happy eggs she said to buy because they’re “high quality” are the same as cage free eggs just with more buzz words to make ppl think they’re better. Even vital farms eggs that she mentioned are not fully “pasture raised” unfortunately. They are a higher quality option here though. Regulations in America as far as what sellers can put on labels is severely lacking. They can basically call them whatever they want and slap a higher price tag on them for no better quality.

    • @waldenmathews8059
      @waldenmathews8059 Місяць тому

Even pasture raised does not mean their feed or their eggs or their meat is not loaded with linoleic fatty acids. Vital Farms did not fare well when tested. Food labeling tricks are not going away. Beware.

The problem is, that when you read the back of the label for ingredients it reads: fried pork rinds and salt. Because I don't know if the pork rinds were fried in seed oils, I will presume that they are and not buy them.
Unless you or someone else reading this comment can show otherwise, I would always presume that pork rinds are fried in seed oils and not animal fat.

Organic Valley's "raw" cheese isn't raw. Here is a quote from their website. "The milk used to make Organic Valley Raw Cheeses is heated to a lower temperature (around 158 degrees) than the temperature required for full pasteurization (around 161 degrees). The milk is heated to kill bacteria that cause spoilage."

I hauled ass to safeway this morning and picked up the boneless new york strips and 2 of the top round roasts. Spent $100 ended up with 12 steaks. Great deal.

And I went to Safeway last night and there was only one NY steak left. 😐They ALWAYS run out in the meat department at my Safeway. So frustrating. 😮‍💨

Make your own Hollandaise sauce. It's just melted butter and egg yolk with a touch of lemon juice and salt. Roughly, 1/4 cup of melted butter, 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon of both water and lemon juice. It's made just like mayonnaise

@kerenwilliams7775 That sounds so good, thank you! I personally cannot tolerate any amount of citrus anymore 😞
Started from a baby with strawberries, then cranberry, then all berries. The last 4 years all citrus, even in small amounts.

As noted by others, your 18 eggs were more expensive than the 12. But, as a primer on eggs: 12 large eggs weigh 24 oz. Each size of egg is +- 3 oz per doz. E.g. Med are 21oz, XL eggs are 27oz and jumbo are 30oz. In short, a doz XL eggs is the same as 13.5 Large. (Jumbo are equal to 15 Large) Scan the prices of all your choices for the best deal. Adjust your recipe as needed. A small amount math can save you quite a bit.

ive made it a point to buy most of my food directly from farmers during my healing journey. even the "organic" food at grocery stores is laced with antibiotics, fungicides, herbicides, etc. that are basically anti life, especially the produce. we need to abandon supermarkets as much as possible. buy directly from your true organic local farmers that dont use any chemicals, even "organic" ones. im currently following gaps diet intro so im consuming lots of fermented foods (kefir and fermented vegetables), meat stock, eggs and beef fat. i hope to incorporate more plant foods into my diet soon

Ive been eating pasture raised eggs for awhile now and I feel like the quality varies. Sometimes the yolk is orange and deep in color. Other times is the same color as cheap Kroger eggs. And the shells have been super thin and flimsy. I dont know if they are truly better or not always. And I love eggs.

I have to give a shout out to my favorite, Goya Hot sauce. No one seems to ever mention it, but it's fabulously delicious. It's not very spicy, either, it's a vinegar-based hot sauce, and they just make it taste good! You can always add more if you want it hotter!
Ingredients are: Distilled Vinegar, Aged Pepper Mash, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid And Ascorbic Acid
