Been wondering bout how well this held up. Haven't been gettn notifications from your channel some reason lately. Glad to see your doin well.
Better turn on the bell man
@@TURBOTRISTO o it's been on. One of the few channels iv got it on for actually. Idk what's up with UA-cam lately
My 99 civic runs cold ar with out a ac compressor or a fan. I have no idea how but the cold air still comes out it’s not freezing air my any means but it’s definitely enough to roll the windows up while driving
good stuff mate
@@TURBOTRISTO your a legend for still caring about comments on a video you posted years ago!
Good on you bro for talking about those dumb reaction vids, in 200% agreement 👊🏻. Congrats on your success my friend !!
Thank you legend
Best content brother thank you for your time and inspiration.
Thank you for watching bro
@@TURBOTRISTO your videos really helped me out with my project thank you again for the finest instructional tutorials that you have helped another non-Mechanic get it done big shot out to you brother keep on that grind
thanks man im glad i inspired someone
The Og fast and furious civics and Vl's was what got me into the car scene lol.... nice vid only thing missing is a Denver nuggets hat and jumper heheh
Haha thanks for watching brother
B18c2 turbo build all the way.💪
Just waiting on parts haha
That wastegate pipe design seems to be inspired by American tuners who exhaust it out the bonnet. That won't impress the police in New Zealand I'm afraid. A lot of mods you see in the US wouldn't be allowed on the roads here. Far better to follow local channels or ones like yours for sensible inspiration
thanks heaps for watching Tim! I appreciate it
Part of America I'm from they pull you over for EVERYTHING! And California is just as bad! Besides that the best way to run a turbo is to make it as stealthy as possible 😂
@M_eg_an_performance best thing to do is check your local regulations before you spend money or start chopping things up.
Hey Triston, I enjoyed the frank honesty of the original, good to see you are still slinging spanners.
I am in Brisbane, do you have any idea where to get a good D16? planning a D swap for my classic mini.
I have a fully forged d16 turbo ready to go all complete ready to go it’s never been run
Nice one Tritto, I hope this vid gets as many views as the original one.😁
Me too haha
Hey mate bad ass content 👍
Have ever thought about doing any 90's mustang 2.3 liter engine?
We never got them
Here man and the ones that made it here are extremely expensive, but yes I have and I would love to
@TURBOTRISTO over here in USA they're getting pretty expensive as well, specially coupes, but it would be cool if you ever come across one of them, there's almost nobody, doing videos of a 4 cylinder mustang n/a to turbo, because everybody wants to go v8, and if they do a turbo, they just do a turbo engine swap from a turbo mustang svo or any other turbo car
The old school Phoenix Suns Logo was the best.
100!!!!!!!
The old NBA was the best hahaha
Hooray for phx suns
Hek yeah brother
Awesome did you change the injectors what size what fuel pressure
Ok stock 240 awesome
I didn't
Hey just so u know, at the beginning of the video I say obviously this video is way to long. It was absolutely not too long it was just long enough to have all the details that make it easy to understand. And it is your most viewed video so I would say if anything u need more videos that style. Great videos either way keep doing what ur doing
thanks Shonez, I appreciate the feed back and you are 100% correct
My only concern is if you can use the air conditioning, since most turbo kits do not allow you to do so, I ask because I want to build a D16 turbo for my daily drive, of course until I buy the honda in a couple of months, I only have that concern
Yeah it won’t work unless you spend more than what the car and turbo kit is worth to make it fit
Rear mounted turbo is how to keep AC
Hi mate , i have turboed a citroen saxo vts 16v ,its on stock ecu right now i need to make a custom map what you recommend me
I send you photos and all if you can help with anything all help is good
I RECOMEND GOING TO A TUNING SHOP AND BUYING A STANDALONE ECU AND LKETTING THEM FIGURE IT OUT
@@TURBOTRISTO yeah i need to bring it to someone that knows wasap jejj
is there going to be a spool up t shirt anytime soon ?
Should be soon
I put an eBay turbo kit on my d16y8 but I’ve never had an issue with the fitting from eBay
That’s awesome which kit did you use
can you do a d17 a2 turbo build?
I would love to I. The future for sure
Yeah buddy love d16 content doing one on my channel small turbo set up 48/49
Nice man I’ll check it out,
@@TURBOTRISTO keep up the hard work bud it’ll pay off signing in from the states 🇺🇸
i would love to get more into the usa market- more honda builds to come
spool up!!!
Hek yeah
Bro, i Planned to turbo my suzuki ignis 1.2 litre. Only 4 or 5 psi, will be tuned. Can I tune w/o upgrading injector or fuel pump?
More air requires more fuel, you much do a fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and injectors, swift 1.6 or baleno 1.8 injectors might bolt in that should be enough
Even its just 4 psi? Im budget limited.
Btw the injectors i have is the same as suzuki ertiga 1.5 litre
if you are on a budget you cant afford to do it wrong and blow it up,
Well my tuner said, the injector can be maximized with injector module to accomodate extra air. So im a bit confused, wheter its true or not
ive turboed mine, and no need to change injectors, just maximizing injector
Where can I find forged 134mm rods for a d15b7, the d16 rods are longer and I can’t run them without ruining a thicker headgasket. I cannot find rods for my d15 please help
Try maxpeeding rods
Is this a Honda only thing? Or can I do this to any car?
You can do it to any car, all the principles are the same, just follow the correct recipe and don’t cut corners on the important stuff like boost management fuel management and engine management the rest of the parts can be cheap and nasty and you will still get decent increases in performance but as usual if you use quality ingredients it will make a better recipe
@@TURBOTRISTO bigger injectors for sure, fuel pump perhaps. Def an AFR to know if I'm leaning out too much. Thats the plan
is it even worth buying one of these kits, or should you just build your own piece by piece
In my personal opinion, I wouldn't waste my time or money on one of these kits. Realistically if you want to turbo your motor, don't cheap out get quality parts. Save yourself the time and headache, and do it right the first time.
@@igvtec exactly
Hey, I have an issue with the Skunk2 70mm for my D serie I have set over all the stock sensors to it and I installed it but for some reason it keep jumping up and down revs from 1000rpm to 1500rpm consistently. I would appreciate any help.
If it’s jumping then it could only be a vacuum leak or an iacv leak try unplugging the iacv and see if that stops it
I’ve been wondering how it had held up… guess I finally get to see
All still going strong surprisingly to me
@@TURBOTRISTOI bet if I tried this I’d blow the motor same day🤣
nah they love it
good video!
Thank you
Is that kit AC compatible?
@@That1PinoyDIYdude no chance
@@TURBOTRISTO Haha. It's always hard to find an AC compatible kit for these cars.
@That1PinoyDIYdude full custom man
@@TURBOTRISTO Yeah I saw one with a sidewinder manifold where the turbo was right above the transmission. I'm surprised no one mass produces one. Then again, the D-series is a forgotten motor, especially now with K-series.
do you really reply to every comment?
Yes mate
😜👍🇦🇺
Thanks for watching man
Hey triston, can do rebuild for my d16y1 as free giveaway? ❤😂
So you would donate an engine for me to give away?
@@TURBOTRISTO um running on that engine mate 😢😏
Hah they sent you the intercooler kit for intake side on RH side that's why it was off by a mile... they needed to send you intake LH side
Yep, it was janky
You didnt explain how this is working without any tuning!
Check the OG video :)
