When the lady mentioned about short sentences which can ruin lives. It happened to me. Due to an issue I got arrested at work, marched off to the waiting police car and sent to jail for one month. I lost my job, home and integrity over a 4 week sentence. My only saving grace upon my release was my last wage from that employer. I was able to crash in a B&B until a new live in job in a hotel saved my arse!

This case was shocking and probably the worst I can recall since the medical crimes of Harold Shipman emerged 25 years ago.
She's had it, still young, lost her life, and no possibility of rehab or hope. Such a narrow existence for such a long stretch must really hit home.
She definately deserves it, I just home she is not attacked or is able to commit suicide as that would cheat the families left behind of justice.

There is no doubt that LETBY deserved the max. punishment the law allows . But there has to be something wrong with the prison system, if other prisoners are able to take the law into there own hands to meter out their own punishment on a fellow prisoner. After all , they are criminals themselves. For are they not , trying to justify there own crime, by taking it out on someone worse than themselves. Just my opinion !

Munchausen by proxy can be seen as a euphemism for sadism by psychopath imo. If, as psychiatrist Dr David Holmes suspects, Letby has Maunchausens By Proxy, she would always have sought out vulnerable people to harm, whether that's elderly people, people with learning or physical disabilities etc. Munchausens can't be cured, so people like Letby will always be a risk to vulnerable people. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to poison other inmates, for example.

I agree, I read through all the court transcripts for each day - I honestly do not understand how they found her guilty. I read through all the evidence presented, and there was not a single shred of evidence that possibly tied her to those deaths. All that happened is she was accused and then anything she did was presented as ‘evidence’. She was not once caught, seen doing anything to harm the babies, there is no dna or fingerprint evidence it is all purely circumstantial. I don’t know how she was convicted as in the Uk the verdict must be beyond reasonable doubt - the whole case was doubtful.

So why did she lie in court over 20 times under oath during her trial? Why for example, did she deny knowing what an air embolus was, when just a few weeks previously, she had passed a hospital exam on the preventative measures required to avoid one? Any ideas? Why do you suppose she wrote those notes with "I am evil, I did this" and " I killed them all, because I'm not good enough to care for them". Why would an innocent person write that? Again, any idea? Why might she have had 258 hospital handover notes at home? Why had she been almost constantly looking the the social media pages of the parents who had lost their infants? Why did she write a sympathy card to the parents of one particular set of triplets, with the comment that they "were not here" anymore, when *one* triplet actually survived an attempt on it's life? At the time, Letby was unaware the child had survived. Any thoughts there?.

@@Brian-om2hh The only people accusing Lucy of lying are those who are hell-bent on seeing her rot in prison, people who have a sore lack of intelligence and have chosen a side based upon their pre-conceived illusions. Does not knowing what an air embolus is mean she's a killer? I think we need a little more of an educated input than that stupid suggestion. The notes have all been explained, they don't say what you hope they say, they aren't an admission, anyone with even a basic understanding of human thoughts and psychology knows this. Sympathy card! Yes, damn nice of her too, and she isn't the first nurse I've head of who has done this, and the handover notes are common practice, again I know of many healthcare professionals who have notes stuffed in pockets at home. No-one tried to kill any babies. Coroners' reports stated 'natural causes' until someone decided (in my opinion) to make a story up and cast Lucy as the villain. It might take years or even decades, but just as other miscarriages of justice are being righted, so will this, and you and others like you will snarl and hiss as you reject the findings that will, eventually, see Lucy walking free again.
