We did it in 1982, same route. 4 hours up from the hut but 5.5 hours down. It's a harder mountain to descend than to climb...take heed. We rapped the grey and the red bands but used our own slings and anchors in spite of the dozens up there. A really nice climb though, not real hard but not easy and kudos to anyone who tries it. It always keeps you awake! Interesting factoid...it is the highest point in the entire Saskatchewan river basin.

Thank you so much guys, for letting us see the unspeakable rewards of this climb! Having spent many years scrambling the Rockies around Rundle, I noticed Assiniboine as the very first peak I saw from Rundle that transfixed my interest. I always wondered what it would be like to climb that, but every time I looked at it, it looked like it would be a borderline experience for my capabilities, as I've never technical climbed. But this video shot is a virtual for me, and I'm so grateful to have been there with you in spirit!🙏

No wonder people don't go up this bloody mountian. The rock is rotten, loose everywhere. Its like a pile of Jenga blocks ready to tumble down. It gives me the heebie-jeebies. Just the exposure would be unconciously exhausting. I climbed Mount Tiede 3715 m in the Cannary Islands. Near the top, every step I was gasping for air. You guys are obviously fit, as you don't show any high altitude, low oxygen discomfort. Thank you. This has been the most terrifying UA-cam video I have ever watched. I suppose it is because I have experienced similar circumstances mountian climbing in Scotland and New Zealand, but nowhere, nowhere near as extreme. Good on you!

Hahah it's definitely falling the fuck apart but to be fair everything in the rockies is kinda falling apart. This seems par for the course here. Appreciate the comments and support brother!!

Stay near the ridge and it's ok. Stray from the ridge and the choss factor ramps up considerably. Awesome route. 4 rap stations were installed in 2016 climbers right of the ridge to keep rockfall off the climbing route.

Fantastic video! I climbed Assiniboine a few summers ago, but the view was unfortunately hazy with smoke. The view is amazing and your video brings back lots of memories from the experience. Well done on this climb and your channel in general. Keep up the good work!

My hands are so sweaty. I thought you guys up North had nice granite. That nasty rock reminds me of Montana. It appears to be impossible to set pro.

Stay safe and love from Scotland.

Really dry conditions. I climbed it years ago, but the route was snow and ice. Crampons the whole way.

Its only the camara angles that make it look steep and what is left of the glacier is only a remnant of what was there forty years ago.
