What a humble and kind gentleman. It’s sad that he couldn’t live to see the legend Messi has become. All the trophies and titles he’s won. Not saying that Messi wasn’t great back in 2008.
I come back to this video every now and then and every single time it makes me tear up. He passed away before even seeing Messi’s prime years, but I just hope that wherever he is, he’s able to see everything Messi’s done.

pretty sure i watched this interview atleast once before, i watched it now and i cried when he got emotional. im not even an Argentinian, spanish or the biggest football fan ever, yet Messi's story and Messi's way of playing touched me more than any other "celebrity" ever did. and he is the farthest from a typical celebrity as possible. this is all the more emotional after Messi winning the world Cup, making millions of argentinians proud and happy and many more millions of his fans who wanted him to win it so much, me included.
