Ace Combat is the Need for Speed of flying games. Unrealistic, but you didn't need anybody to tell you that. Incredible arcade fun. Looks good. You do cool shit. Not hard to get the hang of. Perfect arcade experience, essentially.

War Thunder nerds hate Ace Combat because they are mad that they go over the survivable G forces just by thinking about moving their flaps, whereas in Ace Combat you can actually move your aircraft without blacking out for no reason. The flaps on a plane aren't for decoration, you know.

@@reahs4815 And? If you've flown a full fidelity jet it's night and day. War thunder feels like COD then. In war thunder all the radar missiles behave like inverse monopulse, the radars are incredibly simple, the handling and systems are basically the same in each jet, etc. Gaijin is selective on whether they want a plane to have its historical loadouts/limits or give it stuff it never had. The game mode for air rb is just TDM, and is the plane equivalent of sprinting to the center of the map in COD.

i understand the appeal of war thunder but if I'm picking a realistic game I'd pick literally anything else. The endless, painful grind isn't my type of thing. Being able to pull bullshit maneuvers in sick ass aircraft however, that's a different story.

At least in AC you don't need to buy premium aircraft to win a multiplayer. I once take on a more advanced aircraft like the F-22 and XFA-27 in a Mig-29 and I won. I even imagining that I'm the Ghost of Kyiv

Big problem with WT's game feel honestly is that it puts mouse aim front and center. I *could* bind a HOTAS or even controller... If I had an afternoon to waste sorting keybinds and wanted to be worse at the game than everyone around me.
You know war thunder can do that right? You can bind Hotas and controllers
@@nicmachintosh6054 I said I could, and I did, but sorting through keybinds takes a very long time and makes the game objectively harder in most modes.
A flightstick makes maneuvering much easier but aiming much harder, tried with my cousin a while back
@@Nerthos honestly on top of the aiming thing, some planes are instable in ways that don't come up with mouse aim. Fw-190s spin really easy with hard elevator on a stick but that problem doesn't *exist* in mouse aim.
@@northropi2027War thunder does have somewhat accurate plane physics. Mouse aim is more “arcade” based where you just move your mouse but the computer actually controls the plane. Basically meaning the computer AI prevents unrealistic or unstable maneuvers. When you have a flight stick your fully in control. Only you can prevent unstable flight.

I would have a positive attitude towards this mechanic in War Thunder if it worked adequately. Why on earth *the most pumped pilot* (objectively trained pilot, who in reality are taught to deal with g-forces, up to training the neck muscles to pinch blood vessels and prevent the outflow of blood from the head) loses consciousness while sitting in an anti-g suit after the plane does a simple 90 degree turn?
At the same time, in case of "loss of consciousness and control", the aircraft does not maintain the course that it was, but abruptly rearranges the elevators to a less severe deviation. It literally looks as if the pilot, sitting in the cockpit for fun, pushed the aircraft control stick away from himself, saying: "Hello land, meet the guests."
@@LK911 don't want to be harsh, but these sharp turns are only that damagin' on jets and most of the time in proppelers you won't G out. BUT big ammount war thunder jet players do ONLY sharp turns at mach 69.420 so it's kinda understandable that they pass out so quickly. When I am truning in my F-5 at mach 1.05 i'm blacking out pretty often, even on fully trained pilot, but when I am dogfighting at around 500 kph screen rearly get's black.
To be even more fair in real life people don't pull 10g maneuvers all the time. The only person to do that would be stroke 3. But other than that a normal human being can't sustain so much g for so long.
