      Yes that was true the first 2 could’ve molded teddy into a great leader instead of the drunk he became living under his brothers shadows.a Kennedy Dynasty we would have seen cause JFK def would have got re-elected 1968 and RFK would have continued it nobody would have beat the kennedys.Sadly though there were those who foresaw what they were about and didn’t like it and where it would take the US in the future basically making the US as the worlds police officer and we all know what that has gotten us into.Damned if we do and damned if we don’t

      RFK still faced a very steep uphill battle to the Democratic nomination even before his assassination. He was gaining steam in the primaries, but in 1968 party bosses still largely ran the nominating process and primaries were not nearly as important when it came to selecting a candidate. Humphrey was the overwhelming favorite of the Dem establishment and still probably would have been given the nomination over Kennedy.

    • @OllamhDrab

      That's a better question, but the ways in which things probably would not suck is basically incalculable. Don't worry, though, one day the next leap will be the leap home :)

    • @declannewton2556
      @declannewton2556 5 років тому +10

      Severely doubt RFK would come close to winning the elections if nominated by the Democrats.
      In the original timeline, Vice President Hubert Humphrey was the Democratic nominee that year. Humphrey was Northern Democrat liberal who stood up against Southern Democrats in the convention and for civil rights.
      This helped his destruction at the electoral college to Richard Nixon who was to the right of Humphrey on the political spectrum.
      Considering RFK was more liberal that Humphrey, he wouldn't stand a chance against Nixon.

    JFK proposed a joint lunar mission between the USA and USSR because he said it should've an event that brought humanity together instead of separated by politics. And Krushchev was actually considering going through with it until JFK's assassination.

      Christians follow Christ
      ( hence the name Christian )
      God never speaks about religion in the bible
      Only way back to the father is through the son,
      Not through religion but religions are smoke screens to the truth
      I'm not running any religion down I'm only saying we don't need popes or priests we need Christ

    • @mariojohnston7147
      @mariojohnston7147 8 років тому +12

      +Turtle I agree
      I'm a born again Christian and I believe mary was blessed in being his earthly mother but, same time I believe mary would be telling us ( if she could ) pray to The lord and not her , that He is the savior and He was her savior also.
      I think because Catholics think in their minds that Jesus will listen to his earthly mother in answering prayers and that He will take them to the father but theirs 1 mediator and that's Him

    • @KVirello
      @KVirello 8 років тому +16

      MARIO JOHNSTON They follow the teachings of Jesus and the Bible, therefore they are chrustians. They can worship Mary too but that doesn't make them not Christians. Quakers and Baptists are different denominations but they're still Christians. It's the same with Catholics.

      +macbomb lol this is an ignorant reply. The federal reserve was just as relevant during 1963 as he had given a speech to the IMF and World Bank, international central bank conference, just 55 days before he was shot.
      Which many believe his firm stance on the fixing the trade balance to keep the dollar fixed around 35$/ounce of gold.
      He had just witnessed 20 years prior the day the loss of value of the dollar, for the sake of other countries. He believed the US should maintain 40% of the global gold reserves, what do you think the international central banks thought about that?
      It would have limited their power and authority in the global community.

      The Soviets rejected the first offer, JFK proposed it again 1963 the Soviets had not responded by the time of his murder. Soviet Premier Khrushchev wrote in his memoirs that he was planning to accept the offer, but it ended with JFK's death . Khrushchev was pushed out the following year. It’s fascinating, Martin Scorsese said that the 60s that’s reflected upon in America really started after JFK’s death - when the sex, drugs and rock’n’roll kicked in.
    Before this the early 60s resembled the 50s greatly, and the assassination was a kind of wake-up call. Fascinating.

      Idk about that... this actually seems a bit worse... granted the Vietnam War would have been a good thing to not be involved in for us, but then we wouldnt have learned our lesson to not be so gung-ho about getting 'boots on the ground'.. thus would have likely made one of the later wars we had a hand in to be far more bloody and involved than should have been..
      Plus desegregation and such would have come much later and thus likely would have be bad news for both minorities and women...
      There's a fair amount of things that likely would have made a better world than we are now... but its probably an even spread.

    I would like to propose that relations between the US and Russia would have been alot better because JFK proposed that Russia and the US should go to the moon together and although the leader of the USSR deposed this his son came out and told everyone after JFKs assassination that he was having second thoughts. he also said his father did not trust Lindon Johnston and was not going to do something as amazing as a Soviet and US joined landing on the moon with him in power. Just think of the impact that would have had if the astronauts and cosmonots stood on the moon together.

      liz gaughan Kruschev had a stronger personality than Kennedy and had his own agenda of control over the Soviet block. Further, in the first instance, Russia seems to have captured better German scientists, to lead in the space race.
      Cooperation would have been likely with Gorbachev, but then we had Reagan. Believe this scenario would require two political moderates. Albeit, Russia does take astronauts from manned launch incapable countries to the international space station.

      +EHW2 that is not the quote, but the intent of the conversation. many bring this up, but i refer to the actual recorded conversation with DICK RUSSELL of GEORGIA, why he said it, to whom he said it, and what he was trying to convey when he said what he said. he was talking to a man who was against the civil rights bill. to talk him into getting behind the bill, and having RUSSELL make calls and get men to change their minds, he "colored" his speech a little and was attempting to get RUSSELL to look at a few benefits that would come from passage. it was an attempt to win RUSSELL over. so please get the true meaning of what he said, before you tarnish a man, who already has enough blood on his hands. the sad thing is, because of VIETNAM, he will never be considered great, when all of his accomplishments as president on the domestic front, would put him in the top 10, easily.

      +Entropic Dissonance Not wrong but its a bit more nuanced than that. It does make it more difficult to climb out of poverty because once you start gaining a _little_ wealth, or someone in the immediate family gets a college degree, they pull the entire rug from under you and the little wealth plus you built PLUS the safety net gets ripped away, not just for you but for _the entire family._ Understandably, that _does_ decimate the family. Though, I don't think the idea of helping poor people should be abolished or that the govt should not intervene but the welfare system needs to be retooled to assist people with upward mobility and not creating a dependency for poor people to _merely_ survive.

The ottomans simply had the power and desire to make it their capital simply cause they wear an rising empire. Better question what if the razed Constantinople or what if the 4th crusade never happened.
      Tokugawa Bakfu victory was possible however the result would be very similar a reformed modernized japan where a new westernized government took over and used the emperor to ban the way for a nationalistic japan.
      And the last one France lost the 7 year war no matter what happened on the American frontier Britain would have won. Ps the French could only hope to defend and not to invade the 13 colonies.

    I believe LBJ was one of the best politicians and presidents of all time and this video explains why. Kennedy never would have succeeded in getting those bills through (and we know this because he had three years to do it and didn't). Johnson related to Southern Senators, used Kennedy's martyrdom, and built congressional coalitions that passed laws that to this day affect our society. I think Johnson should be the more celebrated of the two, but unfortunately we have a bad habit of lionizing people who were sadly murdered, at the cost of treating those that survived and did good things as well with either no reverence or unwarranted disdain.
    If Kennedy lived and served two terms, he'd be treated just as badly as Johnson, Ted Kennedy, and every other person who was given the gift of years.

      If Deez Nuts won the election, it would be a very scary time. Thousands of Harambe supporters and Pepe the Frog supporters would all protest at the same time on the night of the election, then get into a riot as both sides brawled on the streets. During the commotion, The Triggered Umbrella Membership of Bitches, Liberals, and Retards (T.U.M.B.L.R.) would dissolve, glad that Pepe did not win the election.
      Within months, President Nuts would get into conflict with Russian President Cyka Blyat over the Syrian civil war, as Allahu Akbars would wreak havok globally. As the presidency of Nuts continued on, more memes would rise and create opposition to the administration, which relies on outdated policies similar to that of the long-dead President Hampton T. Hamster. At the same time, a revolution occurs in Russia, and President Cyka Blyat is assassinated after he failed to buy a P90 and Rush B. He is replaced by Cheeki Breeki, who crushes the rebellion with his sick hardbass beats. At the same time, a second refugee crisis sparks in Uganda, suffering from the worst famine seen in history because Big Smoke ate all their Number 9 reserves. Europe is flooded with Ugandan refugees who don't know the wae. This builds up massive tension with right-wing nationalism, which boils over after a European Uber driver shrieks at a Ugandan refugee woman to get out of his car.
      This alarming rise in European right-wing nationalism also gives rise to the Pepe supporters in America. After a statue of a Confederate war hero was proposed to be taken down, Pepe supporters would flood the streets, causing the T.U.M.B.L.R. to reform, uniting with Antifa. Unlike in our timeline, this would escalate into a bloody battle after Antifa began using Falcon Pawnches to counter the Pepe supporters, who retaliate by opening fire with their MAK1647 Americoviet assault guns. This causes the government to ban assault everything, sparking widespread criticism.
      Across the sea, Russian President Breeki has made his hatred of America and President Nuts very clear. Using a recent Allahu Akbar attack on a Soviet base as an excuse, Breeki uses his hardbass to nuke the fuck out of the United States until all that remains are dead memes, something the nation's top Rick and Morty fans warned us about for years. Nuts responds by sending Big Smoke to eat all of the nukes. However, this fails when the Ugandan refugees find da wae and kill Big Smoke. Nuts, in a last ditch effort to go out with a bang, prepares a Who Would Win, but is too late. The hardbass reaches the US, and we all die as dope Russian beats rain down and destroy our eardrums. They say that afterwards, Breeki switches the record to an earrape of the USSR anthem, causing the entire universe to explode from the overmassive bass in it.

      Btw, you sound like an asshole! "Thank god this man was killed". It's a horrible thing to say about such a great man and leader! JFK did not deserve to get shot at all. You are one fucked up person if you think it was okay to for someone to shoot a man like JFK who never even did a single thing to them personally! You are one sick, disgusting piece of crap.

    First of all, Kennedy planned on removing Johnson from the 1964 ticket, so it's likely that Johnson would not have run in 1968. It is likely that had Kennedy lived and served a full 8 years, that Bobby Kennedy would have run against Nixon in 1968. Depending on how much JFK has upset the southern apple cart with his anti-segregationist policies would have determined whether or not RFK could have carried the south as he was much farther to the left than was JFK.

      eV01ve Actually you are incorrect, even if the attempt happened with gunshots, it’d not be recorded as Russians because the investigation would have led to the same person. The explosion is a way very different attempt at killing JFK. They had already got Vanya, so they thought she was Russian because she spoke Russian too. Judging by that, they would make the assumption without any regard. With them not knowing Vanya isn’t a Russian, it’d just be that, but because gunshots are different from explosions and they’d already been investigating Vanya, they would investigate the gunshot, find the same person guilty, and no nuclear apocalypse.

She was in her first year of college and had been in lecture when another student came running into the auditorium yelling "the President has been shot and killed!" - everybody left. She said she ran out of the auditorium and to her boyfriend at the time. They both hugged and she asked him, "what do we do now?". That has always stuck with me, it's so haunting.

    Here's something worth mentioning:
    The USA and the USSR had planned a joint mission to the moon, the only reason it didn't happen was because Kennedy died before the mission happened and the USSR didn't trust Johnson. So I think that the Cold War would've ended much quicker.

    • @ropeadopedope
      @ropeadopedope 9 років тому +6

      +GlitchyShadow13 The idea was never really taken seriously by either the Soviet foreign administration or Congress. And even if we did manage to man a joint mission to the moon, that wouldn't remedy the deep political differences and scare mongering on both sides. The only way for the Cold War to end is for one side to collapse, and in almost all scenarios, that's the Soviet Union. That's just my two cents.

With no PB&J, the Germans would've won since the Allies would've had a different meal and would fight with no purpose except to kill the Germans. Although, PB&J dated back before the Roman Empire. The fact that Johnson was more on top of his game and had more influence than JFK himself it’s because he had been in politics and developed influence like JFK could not even dreamed of. I also heard that in reality Kennedy did not really care too much about the Civil Rights Movement. Although JFK was a good president and a president of the people I guess him surviving living would not have been any better as we see these true facts.

    It is something incredibly hard to guess. JFK's accomplishments are clear: He skillfully steered the country through the Cuban Missile Crisis and avoided nuclear war. He spoke eloquently about Civil Rights, and I believe in his second term LBJ would have helped him pass Civil Rights laws. He also grew in office. Causes greater than ourselves like the Moon , the Peace Corps were aspirations that were possible. The US was admired around the world. I think we would have kept special ops, and spent billions to prop up a US support government in Vietnam, but I think, he would have negotiated a deal with Ho Chi Minh, who earlier had wanted to. However, JFK had affairs that made Bill Clinton look like an altar boy. If J. Edgar Hoover had blown JFK's cover, and it became public, I think JFK would have had to resign. When it came to affairs...the Kennedy men were deer in heat running across Interstate highways...reckless and one-track minded.

Mitt Romney ends up becoming 44th president after a huge win in the electoral college in 2008 (350+ EV). Kanye West ends up becoming the Donald Trump of the 2016 election, and Sarah Palin the Hillary Clinton of the 2016 election, although Kayne runs as a dem and palin as a republican. The amount of speculation that has to go into this thought experiment alone is incredible. I think it would've been interesting to see JFK survive and win a 2nd term as well, I don't know if it would've made a massive difference today, especially considering Vietnam would be likely to happen either way. It might have ended earlier, but I still think the effects of the war on the American public would have stayed the same.
    As for Civil Rights, this is what I am most torn on, seeing JFK as a more modern left-leaning president(I may be somewhat naive here, but this is what I see), I think Civil Rights probably would've been resolved around the same time if not earlier if he stayed president, but it's still likely MLK would have been assassinated and tensions would still exist years afterwards like it did in our timeline.
    It's tough to say that JFK would've been a "great" president, as like stated in the video, he was almost more of a figurehead and a symbol for hope and the American way/dream. I don't feel as though a 2-term JFK presidency would have changed much in terms of significance in recent American history, obviously some things would be different, and certain aspects of our culture and politics would be changed for the better or worse, but I don't think life would've/would be much different today if JFK survived. That being said, he was a cool dude, and he definitely didn't deserve what happened to him.
