Townhouse Remodel: Before and After Renovations

- In this video you will see the before, during and after remodeling of our home in San Diego County. We bought our first house (a townhome) just as the COVID-19 pandemic started, in March 2020. We were so excited but nervous at the same time for what was to come, but fortunately, everything went smoothly for us. Neither our health nor our jobs were affected by the pandemic. Before moving in, we hired a general contractor to demolish and update the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the entire flooring of the house. During the remodeling we encountered some minor homeowner issues that we were able to fix right away, as you will see in the video. The entire interior of our home was remodeled, which took about a month or so to complete. We also remodeled the backyard later, but that will be in another video. We hope you like the end result as much as we did, we loved the updates on our new home! Check it out in the video!

Hello. Couple of questions if you don't mind as we are looking into renovating our small townhouse too. How did you search for the contractor? How many contractors did you get in contact with before deciding which one? Can you share any tips and the amount you spent? What was the biggest issue you encounter aside from the termite? And how long did it took to complete? thanks
Hi! Congratulations on your upcoming renovation project, that is exciting! I think we got in touch with about 4 contractors. This was right at the start of the pandemic in 2020, and some of them were not as responsive as we would like. We went with a contractor who was recommended by a family member and we were very satisfied. We did not move in to our place until after the remodel was complete inside the house which was about 2 months. Total work was less than $20k but I am not sure where you are located and if the pandemic impacted the pricing then because of materials and all that. The best tip for you is to contact several contractors and ask for referrals of their work to see photos of their work etc. before you make a final decision. Hope this answers your question!
