Mallika is not a seedling. It was developed as a hybrid between Neelam and dasheri at Pusa institute in Bharat in year 1971. It's an excellent mango with small seed and more pulp of high density. Fruits can be large at upto 800 gms.

I purchased a few Mallika from you about a week ago, I have to say, these have been the best mangoes I have had this year. the one that was purchased ripe ( I assume it was picked that way ) and one I allowed to ripen in my warm garage. both had the same excellent quality. so at least from your trees, its seems to make no difference if they were picked ripe, or picked mature green.

We've noticed that also. I've heard that at least some Mallikas from the groves in Homestead have to be picked green to be good.
Nitrogen is bad for the fruit quality of this variety.

    Hello TT,
I'm from India.. love your videos .. I think the mango you have shown in this video is 'Amrapaali' not a Mallika. Amrapali and Malika both have a same parents Dahehari and Neelam but there is slight defference in them. The quick one is that identify tell of mango is small or big.. :)
