  • The decline of nitric oxide is one of the reasons that we age. Nitric Oxide is a gas that’s naturally produced in the body; it’s used to communicate between cells. To make nitric oxide, enzymes in the body break down the amino acid, arginine. Arginine is naturally found in foods such as spinach, sesame seeds, and white meat turkey.

    By the age of forty, nitric oxide production begins to decline. Japanese researchers have found a 75% decline in NO in their studies and confirm this decline is what “ages” us! Eating more foods with the amino acid L- citrulline or l-arginine; such as greens or lemons, helps conversion in body to nitric acid. This in turn increase your energy production.
    Nitric Oxide’s main job is to deliver messages between the body’s cells. It also plays a key role in controlling the circulation of blood and regulating activities of the brain, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach and other organs. It functions as a vasodilator, meaning it relaxes the inner muscles of the blood vessels, causing them to widen and increase circulation. Allowing blood, nutrients and oxygen to travel to every part of your body effectively and efficiently.
    Nitric oxide is an unstable molecule that degrades quickly in the bloodstream, so it must be constantly replenished. One way to increase its stability and limit its breakdown is by consuming antioxidants. Consume fruits and vegetables that contain polyphenols, glutathione, Vitamins C and E, such as asparagus, broccoli, elderberry, kiwifruit and bell peppers.
    Nitrate, a compound found in vegetables is converted into nitric oxide, which provides a wide range of health benefits related to heart health and exercise performance. Rhubarb, swiss chard and arugula are high in nitrates. Beetroot appears to be the most effective of all the vegetables because in addition to its high content of nitrates it also contains folic acid, polyphenols, magnesium and vitamin C.
    If you combine Beet juice with Hawthorn, a nitric oxide rich herb, you have a super antioxidant blend of polyphenols to help you. To get optimum benefits, it is recommended to drink 1-2 cups of beet juice daily.

Research has found that two servings of nitric oxide rich food and herbs daily, one in the morning and one after lunch, dramatically increases circulation and energy. Nitric oxide levels seem to peak about 30 minutes after consumption of the food and herbs.

    Does they have anything to do with cluster headaches aka suicide headaches? Pls help!!

      Stop eating meat and all protein. Limit to 5 grams of protein a day. You'll have to eat things like green beans, corn, fruits for a few days to see if it helps. Protein turns into ammonia and if you have an ammonia build up, it can get to your brain and cause headaches. High protein foods are hard to digest. 90% of your headaches come from your digestive tract due to the nerve connected to your gallbladder that goes to your head.
