The crowd finally turned up 45 years later when the guitarist did a solo gig.
great gig
Since Richard Wright passed away Pink Floyd will not play Echoes anymore
@@waynestumbo2408 Well, technically there is no Pink Floyd anymore to play anything, so I gather you mean Gilmour (who has said he won't, calling it a "conversation" between himself and Wright).
I've been a Floyd fan for 42 yrs,it makes me very happy to see younger generations experience their music, welcome to the family, enjoy the journey.
So happy to listen to a Pink Floyd reactor who really loves Nick Mason’s drumming in all his reactions. Love that he appreciates and picks up on just what Mason brought to the Pink Floyd sound with his behind the beat playing and his casual gentle fills. Never over the top, just fills out the sound so perfectly.
One of the best groove drops in all of music.
best band of all times 😎👍
Pompeii is an ancient city in southern Italy that was destroyed in 79 AD (2,000 years ago) by the volcano Vesuvius. Pink Floyd are performing in the amphitheater there, for all the ghosts of long ago. Rick Wright on keyboards, David Gilmour on lead guitar, Roger Waters on bass guitar, Nick Mason on drums.
That " break " when its kicks in midway through is " Floyd " meeting " Funkadelic ". Total fire.
This level of Floyd is simply on a different plane of existence than 99% all other music. One of the greatest dilemmas of my personal life is deciding which is better between Echoes and Dogs.
Try Zappa or Miles Davis
Wow you took the words out of my mouth! Both are tied as my favorite floyd song. I love the angry pissed off sound of dogs... and my god those solos are to die for. But then i love the philosophical psychedelic aspect of echoes.... and man that middle funky section is just to die for. All depends on my mood.
@@Buddha075 I always think of that funky middle part of Echoes as the ankle-breaking section... ( I write this as I watch Kirawasareactor watch Echoes Live at Pompeii for the first time). My preference seems to swing with my moods also, but tend to last a few months at a time... I think I'm currently in the process of switching back to Echoes... I think.
God I love this song, the control and no wasted notes, somehow they make sense out of all these noises.
Dave and Rick have amazing musical chemistry. It's truly a wonder to behold.
What an incredible privilege it is to be able to see this stuff on UA-cam. How many of us would actually have ever seen this brilliant performance?
That bass bro is a memoribilia of relics
It was 1971, no "digital" and very little electronics ... mostly electromechanics like the Leslie with which Rick amplified the piano from the beginning to get that Sonar-like sound.
Thanks
I stood on that spot in '86 when I was in Navy. Respect to ancient lives and modern Floyd melding together!
This music just connects so many different kinds of people in so many levels. No matter your age, your race or your religion... it's just beautiful.
Rodger never gets enough credit for his bass lines
Best bassist for a blues guitar player according to Clapton if I remember correctly.
If you have a chance, check out Celestial Voices from Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. People sleep on that one but they shouldn't. It may be one of the most sublime pieces of music ever and I've yet to see one person doing a reaction to it.
They did this gig in the amphitheater due to the acoustics -- and it worked 😁
Hip-hop and Rap is a form of music that I've always found difficult to TRUELY connect with -- I realise the complexities of it, the lyrical mastery is unsurpassed in all honesty, but I always still ask myself "Do you understand it? ... do you feel it?" ... still I dont know 😊
Floyd is just as complex -- and thought provoking so; for me, its joyous to see people from completely different musical mind-sets, listening to Floyd and getting that same groove from the music. It's truely beautiful.
welcome to the pink floyd´s family. That is the pink floyd effect. If you can, if you can. Pls bro, pls listen "You gotta be crazy" that song blow you mind. Wembley 1974 version.
Cause you may be cool, but you'll never be shirtless David Gilmour rocking in a 2000 year old amphitheater cool
Guitars want David Gilmour for Christmas.
Cold, hard facts right there!
This song is one of several Floyd tunes that's true acid rock. Maybe I say that cause I've seen them 3 times and was seriously trippin. Many moons ago!
Lucky you got to see them (that many times too)! I had many chances to see PF live but put it off, then it was too late.
@@marymargaretmoore9034 that story is the meaning of Floyd's song time!!
Back in the mid 70’s I, personally, observed one person, on acid, freak out on this song..
@@garycraig6506 Freaked out to Echoes? Wow.
Mary Margaret Moore Parts of “Echoes” sounds freaky, even not tripping/drugging..
Great reaction, brother. This is EPIC!! Seriously, something special happened on that day. I'm like you. I can't handle but 1of their songs a day. They just wreck your emotions. Legendary band! GOATS!
My teens(60s and 70s) coincided with hi-fidelity stereophonic sound systems becoming affordable for teens in the suburbs. Goodbye 78 disk's. Goodbye basic rock and roll. Goodbye AM radio. Hello Floyd. Hello albums. They made use of the quality and power. Artful and rewarding.
Exact feeling/reaction I get every time I hear this song!
I was so pleased to see this finally pop up on your channel.
A true masterpiece.
You MUST do their live version of Comfortably Numb in 1994 at Earls Court. Easily the best song ever performs live by any band. The ending solo is a work of art that will leave you speechless. David Gilmore doesn’t plug his guitar into an amplifier, he plugs it into your soul and cranks it up to 11. I saw them on this tour in Vancouver and there are no words to describe what happened during this song. I remember leaving the arena thinking what the hell did I just witness? One word. Greatness.
I went to the earls court gig back in 94 and it was something I will never forget , as soon as the lights dimmed and the 1st notes off crazy diamond come on EVERYONE around me sparked up a joint me included. When I watch the blue ray now I just remember the smell off weed and smiling faces everywhere.
This performance is incredible.... like, one of the greatest bands to ever do it. No other band will ever compare. Love your reaction when the funk section dropped. They are too good.
You made the face when the groove started...... Yeah, you were feeling it. Great reaction.
Often overlooked but the keyboard playing is a massive part of this track, but then on reflection every instrument has a massive role.
These are the reactions that I really want or care to see. This man is from a different era than me (white, in my 50's) but more importantly, he's a master of the hip hop game so he hears the mastery of this 60's psychedelic music and I'm interested in what he has to say about it. I subscribed and will look forward to his content.
This song blast me away from my mind and chewing my brain in the trip 🤯🤣
Pink Floyd has always been my drug of choice. ♥️♥️♥️✌️
It gave me joy watching you discover this work of art
"My fucking ears just got violated" is one way to put it. Made me laugh.
What an experience😊
Good song to go to bed to, just know it is earth and soul itself.
Yessss! Their masterpiece, IMO...and so young then! 🔥🎶🔥
100 thumbs up! 🤗
Never too much Floyd!
fun watching someone experience my favorite music for the first time. glad you like it. floyd is definitely a vibe especially their early stuff. good job.
Hah, the transition at 09:28 got him good!! That bass groove is soooooo damn sexy...
Your reaction Jay Rah is priceless. One of the best I have seen ever. You are genuinely feeling their music.
Another mortal taken on a Pink Floyd trip
When I need a serious jam this is it........
Epitome of greatness
Back in the day, we had a dark room....some black lights, some pillows on the floor in a circle, a hookah in the middle......and put this album on with the speakers positioned up high in the corners of the ceiling.....and took a very mellow, floating trip....
i hear you ....
“Hold up hold up.....lemme make sure this is turned up alllll the way”.....🤘🏻🤘🏻 lmao.. hell yeah bro, only way to feel the Floyd.
Brotha out of all the reactions I’ve seen.. this one by far was the best funny as hell😂😂👌
I used the album version of this song to fall asleep by for years its so smooth and hypnotic!
Also great to do Math homework to. Amazing how certain bands remind me of certain JHS & HS class subjects. 😊 Memories of World Civ everytime I hear Rush. Queen was Science homework & frog dissecting. Floyd always reminds me of finding X or the Angle CV of something! 😂😂🤣🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
It’s coming! Gilmour is bringin your 🎸🔥💯🖤
Floyd is their own genre. If you go down that hole......you may not come back. Right on.
never get in a hurry with the Floyd. Trust me they will get there when it's time. Floyd is music isn't something you just hear as you are running around. people need to SIT and LISTEN to them.
Watching you experience all these great songs for the first time makes me relive my experience with them years ago! Would love to hang with you and just listen to music - what a way for us all to connect with one another!
You are the tops in reactions - Rock on man !
The best rock song over 20 minutes long. Absolutely a Floyd masterpiece.
Thanks for your reaction it's very real! SALUDOS
Yo bro!!! You are in the groove with Floyd!!! Glad you liked it!!!!! Awesome reaction!!!!
What a great experience ,so laid back ,and that's you young man, fabulous reaction to legends ,keep it going for your British fans
Nick Mason is the star in this one.🤩
OMG
I never stop playing this song since years ago
I hope you enjoying it, see you react to High Hopes live PULSE concert 1994 😁
You can see the great gig in the sky live same concert PULSE and see the amazing girls 👍🏼
So awesome! Love Floyd!
They have always had their own planet
Lmao.."damn my ears just got violated"....extreme brilliance that is Floyd
It was 50 years ago and still is an event of biblical proportions
Dave came back to the amphitheater in 2016 without any original members. First time an audience was allow inside since 79 A.D. Some solo & some Floyd recommend the whole dvd but " on any tongue" " sorrow"!!!!!! . "comfortably numb "on pulse 1994 & "run like hell "( better were a seat belt ) 200,00 watts of power on a 200 ton stage , 128 speakers.
This is the way to react to this masterpiece.
This and Time and most tracks from Animals are my favorites to watch others reacting to, glad you did this! Playing to the ghosts of Pompeii, the quietest live concert. Edit: yours is one of the best and most energetic reactions I've seen to this amazing piece, thank you!
This song has knocked me on my ass when high. This shit is absolutely insane. The crown jewel of psychedelic rock.
Three words..: Epic.
Nick Mason is a very underrated drummer
This song synced up to Jupiter in the movie 2010 is a cool experience.
check out the song "Dogs", off the "Animals" album, very good stuff.. Kickass video dude, Glad to see the younger crowd enjoying Pink Floyd.
Great reaction. Check out all the songs from Live at Pompeii - they're all amazing. But especially Saucerful of Secrets! Out of this world.
Video from 1972 pink floyd wee ahead of their time, only saw them once in concert, spectacular show
Great reaction jay, made me laugh
Great to see you young guys discovering and getting into all the music we grew up on.enjoy and keep it going.
I’m still new to your channel... making my way through all your vids. I was going to recommend this. Best new (to me) reactor I’ve seen in a long time. Don’t ever stop! 😗
Sure you were! Probably you didn't even know who Pink Floyd were.
Great reaction Jay. Lovin' the energy you put into these reactions.
Legends 👍
Music for the Gods if there is one
David Gilmour's guitaring & Roger Waters bass-lines, are really awesome on this song!!
This is real music....
In my meager opinion, this is the best Pink Floyd song ever made! Definitely a classic among classics! I was waiting to see your reaction to that time change and transition to that funky ass jam in the second section! I knew it would melt your fucking face!!
Also, I would love to see a reaction to the UK Metal band, Conjurer. Thankless and Hollow are great tracks to start with..🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Try the original version from the album Meddle. A better live version is from the concert in Gdansk in 2006. Both have the call and response ending between guitar and keyboards that is not a feature of the Pompeii version.
You're into the good stuff now my man!
Pink Floyd are Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Wagner of Music Modern Era
A live concert for the crew only. so iconic
The stuff of legend
Good choice
Epic
DAVID GILMOUR THE TIMELORD OF THE LEAD GUITAR 🎸..PINK FLOYD WILL TAKE YOU TO A DIFFERENT WORLD 🌎
and across the STARS 🌟...no1
Nice
I went to an all hip hop head school and got made fun of so hard for listening to this. People I was around wouldn’t get past the first minute and a half.
It’s so awesome watching you discover this and love it. Immediate subscriber my guy.
Por ahí leí: Pink Floyd no necesita drogas, las drogas necesitan a Pink Floyd... Simplemente estos músicos le tocan a seres de otra dimensión. Saludos desde Chile!
Your ears just got violated by greatness!
Bless you, my son.
This is one of the 1st Floyd songs that is listenable to me, before this is was just to chaotic for me.
I would love to have you visit. Build a big fire in the fire pit, drink coldies, grill steaks and chicken, and listen to old tunes!!
Please react to Pink Floyd:
High Hopes
Pigs (three different ones)
Dogs
I'm just here for the inevitable comment "I'm not gay but ...a young David Gilmour..." I bet I find one.
Totally far out reaction bro!
👍🏻
