@eddiewinehosen Jamie had to say that stuff to Brianne, but I think he knows he has to be the one to kill Cersei---but he needs to ride fast. After last night, Dany and Grey Worm are going to Cersei next week----I wonder who will actually be the one to kill her and how she will die. Remember, she just lied to Yuron ( however it's spelled) about the baby when she told him last night, and Tyrion spoke of the baby last night. How would he know already? When he finds out Cersei lied to him , he 's gonna was to kill her too. It will be tense again!

Most of the Dothraki, most of the Unsullied, Jorah, Rhaegal, and now Missandei. The first three in a war that she didn't necessarily have to fight in order to win her throne, and now some of those people are plotting against her? At this point, it's hard not to think she'll be justified to burn it all down.
I'm pretty sure her dragons were more important to her than all of the above.
@@abdulkarimelnaas7595 I don't think I did the best job of conveying what I meant. It's just that Dany could have probably steamrolled King's Landing last season when she still had three dragons. She could have burned the city down, and all of its subjects, and claimed her throne. Instead, she listened to Jon's warnings about the plight of the North, and by extension the rest of the Seven Kingdoms later. She went North not only out of necessity, but also because she dislikes seeing people suffer. Maybe she has something of a messiah complex, but at least it's one that leads her to wanting to save people most of the time, not murder them. People DO worship Daenerys to an extent, but she didn't ask for it, the same way that Jon didn't ask to be declared King. They both have people flock to them because they want to make the world a better place, even if Dany has a bit more of a chip on her shoulder about birthright. In actuality, the books show Jon to also be far more consumed by the idea of birthright, and envious of those in positions of power that he can never attain because of his bastard status. He's flawed too.

Jon did the right thing for ghost. That wolf has been through so much he wants him to live the rest of his life free. And away from all the chaos. He didn't pet him because I believe he would end up changing his mind.

@@rosiesims4180 Thank You! People saw him as a pet. Jon never did he saw him as a friend, member of the nights watch, and soldier. But he never tried to tamed him or treat him like anything less than an equal. It was clear leaving him hurt him but he chose to break the bond for the sake of his life. Ghost is hurt now but at least he will live.

@Drew, nope that part is saved for Jamie...it was already predicted/made prophecy in the books and partly in the show as well I believe....they came together in the world and they are also going to leave the world together...
Mountain and the Hound are also going to have their duel to the death and then I quess its up to Jon to kill his gone crazy aunt....
What happens to Arya, well that remains to be seen, but since she already killed Night King, I doubt they are going to give another major kill for her.

The actors are compelled to praise the show while it's running. They said this episode would be huge too but in GOTS "huge" episodes usually means rushed clumsy moments that are "shocking"

Jamie left Brienne behind because he cares for her, Cersie has a history of killing anyone that her brothers care about it. He know she needs to be stopped and wanted to keep Brienne safe. My opinion

I thought exactly the same. Jaime's a great strategist so he knew the only way to keep the woman he loves safe was to lie to her face and break her heart to get her to stay back in the North. But I think he underestimates Brienne's love for him. Also, I think Jaime feels responsible for not snuffing out Cersei's madness long ago, so he thinks it's his duty to go rid the world of her evil. But Brienne will follow, and I think in the end Arya's going to kill both the twins, and Brienne will be just moments too late there to save him. And so Jaime will get to die in the arms' of the woman he loves - Brienne.

I don't get your disbelief at Sansa telling Tyrion. For me it was clear she was not just running her mouth but it was a deliberate decision, "littlefingering it" and knowing news would travel and take a life of their own. Hard choice she made becoming an Oathbreaker to her brother

Jaime is going to meet up with Arya and the Hound. Jaime is going to kill Cersei and the Hound is going to kill the Mountain. Arya will get them in with her faceless powers.
I also hope that Jaime kills Cersei, but I don‘t think the Clegane Brawl will have a happy ending. I think, either Sandor will loose and Arya will finish the Mountain, or both Cleganes die in the fight
GE12 this is what I thought for the longest time. It’ll be the hound vs the mountain and the hound will be losing and almost die and Arya will save him or it’ll be a 2v1 thing and the hound will die regardless

I will never understand why the writers decided to make fewer episodes and completely rush the final season. You can tell by the significant decline in the writing quality. As per usual, a long-running show that I love is getting let down at the very end.

Wont work.The only way Drogon can barbecue Euron now is to use the advantage of surprise. Attack from the position of the sun. Or dive bomb 90% angle towards Euron's ship so the scorpions will be almost impossible to use since it wont be able to point directly upward.

@@hazemomran9903 Oh I agree, definitely, but this seemed to be building before all this happened. Now don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Dany, I actually like her character, but she worries me in how much she portrays almost zealous behaviour. Her belief in her destiny to rid the world of tyrants, is clouding her judgement of herself. If she stormed Kingslanding and burned the Red Keep, she would ostracize the people she claims to want to save and become a tyrant in kind. But, if that happened, it's not surprising; as you said, she has lost a LOT, and the only person that has shown her gratitude (Jon) is now potentially her greatest rival should Cersei be defeated.
And the leaving of Ghost and death of Rhaegal, I feel, is foreshadowing his end too. Though I'm not counting on it being Cersei's side to end him, his greatest flaw (if it can be called that) is trusting too easily for the sake of the greater good. He was murdered once for it, and now...I wouldn't be surprised if yet another 'ally' would try to take his life, but this time the knife will be in his back. It won't be those who disagree with the alliance, but instead those he has allied with.
She is not willing to risk /her/ throne.

what's neat is that Ghost is leaving with Tormund. Both of them are heartbroken by the loves of their lives: Jon and Brienne.
This episode really showed what Game of Thrones is , a ruthless game that you play or die . Rhaegal and Missandeis deaths were so horrifying , they came out of nowhere. I think Dany's anger is justified but I don't think she will become the 'Mad Queen'. Great Episode , can't wait for next week .

The show is telegraphing her decent into the mad queen pretty hard right now, we have seen flashed in previous seasons but none more than right now. Chances are shes going to burn the city and its inhabitants and someone is going to have to stop her. Either way shes not sitting on the throne, no way....

@Olivia you are right on point with your comments about it being such a disservice to the fans to cut the series short at 8 short seasons. That is really the underlying issue of the dissatisfaction that fans are expressing this season. Really, since season 6 we have been experiencing a lack of detail and finesse (ex. Teleportation in season 7!) in the show. It's real grief that the fans are feeling about what the show could have been. I feel you, Olivia on every reaction you had. I am full on team Dracarys! Ultimately though, creators are able to produce a great episode experience. I'm not so unhappy that the episode is not enjoyable. I also still like the show. But I am starting to think that I wont be watching any upcoming companion shows. Fool me once, shame on you HBO.
Totally sympathize with Olivia’s reaction to Rhaegal. One of my cats died very unexpectedly yesterday so I was already weepy all day. Losing Rhaegal broke me. 😥

Do you think if Jon was riding Rhaegal, the dragon would have survived. The dragon just seemed to stay and take the hits...
I think the first hit was most likely fatal, it hit his chest plate and therefor his heart, so the neck shot looks like it just finished him off. So i would personally say John wouldn't have altered the outcome, sadly.
It would’ve been better if he had a rider. You can see earlier in the Ep that Rhaegal was injured so he already wasn’t 100%. Dany had a false sense of security being near her fortress. They literally just defeated the Army of the Dead so I’m pretty sure the last thing on her mind was to be ambushed near her home turf.
No once its hit fataly in the chest it doesnt matter Jon would just have died with him only difference itmight have made was if John was riding it and they had an actual plan of staying apart scouting but within visible range of each other then maybe one would have spotted the ambush early on and reacted.
They somewhat explained that with Jon saying that Rhaegal was still recovering. I doubt Rhaegal could move all that well to begin with and getting hit right in the chest didn't help.

I think 1) Missandei should have hugged Cersei and yeeted off of the platfrom, killing Cersei or 2) If she had her hands tied then just ram Cersei off maybe then only having Cersei die and then have Missandei probably killed by the Mountain the same way she did in the actual episode.

I feel like the death of Rhaegal is showing that she is now truly alone. There is no dragon for Jon to ride anymore, which points towards this. But now that Ghost has been sent away, and he has said his farewells, it could also be foreshadowing.

I thought Dany was completely unhinged this episode. She refused to listen to people who tried to tell her that her forces needed to recover...and for that, she lost another dragon. He was injured and her recklessness caused his death.
I also think that Jaime was trying to make sure that Brienne wouldn't follow him. He intends to die in King's Landing. I think he was doing the thing where you say really nasty shit to push someone you care about away from you.
Cercei was told she was going to be killed by her younger brother, Jamie was born after her. He's going to Kings Landing so he can die and Arya can wear his face to get close enough to Cercei to kill her.
Seing that Cersei tried getting him killed assasinated with Tyrion, letting a surviving Jamie get close to her seems pretty damn stupid and not very much like Cersei at this point.
Tyrion talking about the baby in front of Euron, is something that Euron is going to find suspicious... cersei only just told him shes pregnant, so how would Tyrion know... hes going to figure out the baby isnt his, and red wedding style stab her in the belly and slit her throat. (a combination of robs starks wife and mothers deaths)

@Mike Mitchell Euron: how did Tyrion know about the baby, if I didn't have sex with Cersei until I came back with the golden company and she's only just told me. The mountain wouldn't say anything, ask Qyburn, he says he didn't tell, in Eurons mind that leaves Cersei telling Tyrion, which wouldn't be possible unless the child is not his.
I like the detail that Sansa never actually promised Jon she wouldn't say anything. The only person who gave their word of secrecy was Arya. Meaning that Sansa pulled a Littlefinger and never actually promised anything.
She said she swore but to be honest it was a piss poor 'I swear'. You could pretty much tell she wasn't going to keep it to herself. She's playing the game hard right now, very interesting...

People have such a warped view of characters. Varys is literally trying to choose a ruler who is the best for the seven kingdoms. He was supporting Dany but then realised that lately she has become quite dark and obsessed with the throne. Whereas someone like Jon actually cared about the people.

He is not in it for power, the throne, any of this 'Game of Thrones' bullshit, he said it this episode, he's representing the small people, the folk who aren't of big royal houses or persons of interest. "I will act in their interest no matter the personal cost." He is here to serve THE REALM, not a King, or a Queen. He does that just so he could serve the damn Realm and it's millions of seemingly unimportant people to anyone else. Varys is for the people.

She demanded Jon not tell anyone about his parentage because it was inconvenient to her. Sansa told her she should wait to let her troops and dragons heal, she didn’t listen. I feel like Dany was wrong about a few things this episode.
I just wonder if people are complaining about writing and things being rushed because stuff is happening that they don’t want to or genuine complaints. Remember Ramsey already told you this will not have a happy ending. Again, GRRM had a multiple day sessions with the writers and outlined the endgame for all major characters. Whatever they do in the show from a major plot point perspective will be in the books (unless GRRM sees the reactions and changes it on them). I feel like they are in a no win situation. No matter what they put out, people will complain and whine. If it had been 10 episodes, y’all would say it was dragging or fan service.

I do believe Varys will get burned alive this season.He seems to forget that Daenerys did indeed help save Westeros. Also the second he sees something he doesn't like he betrays them and he'll do the same to Jon (doesn't have to be anything bad) if he has doubts in him. Every person Varys has wanted for the realm he has never got them to the throne and he has betrayed everyone he has served so lets not excited that he's team Jon.

Danys goal was always the iron throne, and now everything is falling apart so I understand her rage and frustration. She lost two dragons(childs) best friends, army and seems like everyone is gonna betray her. Only person she can trust now is Grey Worm. So I expect her to go full beast mode and burn them all.

Hmmm i don't think putting an armor on a dragon would work first it will be a heavy burden when they are flying (they can't even put on a saddle).
There were three different opinions in that reaction video four if you include mine and a couple of million depending on how many watched the show.....EVERYONE has their own head canon and expectations of where this was meant to go....why would the writers be any different....people were always going to be pissed it was ending so the writers were in a position of fucked if you do and fucked if you dont....basically 'fucked'

I think it's Dany's fault and she should have listen to Sansa before going off against Cersei, despite their differences/point of views.
They seemed to have a way better plan (it might not have worked because of numbers) against the night king than they did against Cersei. not only should they have rested the troops but they should have had a way better plan than that with atleast four people available who has lived at Kings Landing for many years one or two of them with decent knowledge about the defenses.

At this point if drogon dies by the time they win dany is screwed. Because if they convince jon to take the throne she can't stop it. No dragons and her army is basically nothing at this point.

I am thinking exactly like you. The first 2 episodes were great buildup for The Long Night and I loved The Long Night too. This episode was really nice too. Jons speech. The celebration was on point. The conflict of the past of John. I could write many many more but that would take just too much time.

There is another theory that another Dragon will surface. The Dragon named Cannibal. It would be very interesting though. Cannibal was said to be the oldest dragon and no one can ride him. If it is true, you can see Euron's doomed face in the teaser. Fingers crossed! Deus ex machina. lol

If you paid attention to the opening for this season, the last shot of the gyroscope thing has changed. All previous seasons it was the Baratheon stag. This season there is a lion with a beheaded hanged man, a person hold a head of some sort--not sure what it is, showing it to the lion. On a side note, odd that Theon is part of BaraTHEON.
If they were flying to Kings Landing, then I think Dany would have been more on her guard, but they were flying home to Dragonstone, so she was not expecting any trouble.
Agree with you 100% You can really see the last 2 seasons after they ran out most of the book material and the announcement of the end of the series where the writing has switched from telling great stories to a "OMG we have X amount of episodes left and X amount of those stories to wrap up." Its definitely affected the series and produced more complaints than ever in seasons past.
The most disappointing to me, and perhaps there is still time to correct this, is Bran's story. The audience has been with him on his story arc since season 1 trying to understand what his role would be in the impending war with the Night King. Turns out he was just going to be bait this whole time? Seriously? Can Bran at least use his warg skills to scout ahead and look at what Cersei is up to? There sure was an instance where Dragonstone could have used a quick scouting report recently, especially considering how close Dragonstone is to Kings Landing....
I'm still doing my best to enjoy the series. I'm hoping there is some redemption in the final two.
I agree with Olivia....this episode started out with John's speech, it didnt even sound like him. I don't think Briann wouldve acted like like she did when Jamie left, and although it was an ok scene, Brons conversation with the brod Lannister....no way it wouldve happened like that. No one seems themselves anymore...I get they have to rush it, but geez. Did yall catch the coffee?

I think you guys need to go back and rewatch the episode. The Scorpions are MUCH bigger than the one Braun used. Qyburn had plenty of time to revamp the scorpions to make them more effective. I'll have to go back and look but I think there was even a scene where he talked about making them better. I don't see why its so hard for people to understand weapons development.
Eurons ships came from around an island or promontory or something. If there was a failing it was to put out forward patrols on Dany and Tyrions part. of course Sansa had to tell! it´s not ok to avoid conflicts, which creats more conflicts and to bring the wrong person on the throne! And Dany is the wrong one! She has serious problems with her temper and is selfish. Again: Sansa will become queen! As Tywin said: A good king has to be wise and she is. She lives and acts in reality, cares about the people, that they should rest , if they would have enough food etc. and is not obsessed by an illusion. Listen to Varys! :))

You know, I understand Missandei's answer to Cersei. She is in a foreign land who's put Her Queen agaisnt the sword and taken a lot from her already. I get why she'd say that. First burn it down and then begin to build up from the Foundations. But knowing the way GoT is going they'll probably kill Daenerys for shock value and make her another mad Targaryen with Drogo being the last dragon alive and last symbol to the Targaryens die along her. Thus the end of the conquerors. Anyways, cant wait to see Dani kick ass and Cersei to burn alive.
i really liked it ive liked all the episodes so far and to me everyone is doing everything their characters would do in the situation so i dont really have any problems cant wait for the next one :)
