I am definitely mastering the Gironda Pull Up this summer.. Ido Portal was the first calisthenics athlete I saw doing a similar pull up movement. It's the best of both worlds. Keep grinding my people!
@@MonkeyBarsEveryday nah, I did not achieve the master level.. mid high intermediate level I'd say, you really need rings to get the master level ... I didn't have rings.
@@AfifFarhati Training is good, my pull ups are at the Gironda level, my pulls connect with the bar every rep in every set. I no longer do pull ups, I do chest pulls, that’s the new standard. Bless
When you are at the top of the movement, I find it helps strengthens the back even more by locking up for some second. Great that you are using close grip and Rings to do this excersize. Remember, who controls the Rings has the power.
I'm 69 female, tiny and really, really strong. I started doing these and didn't even know they were a thing...my logic was that it was like a row but you are pulling your body weight instead of a dumbbell. I discovered I could do this doing close grip pullups and one day I went way back arched and boom new exercise. i use the rope over the bar and pull up also like with the v grip...i also do hand over hand moving across the smith machine bar. I twist then come back. Try that! One day I did an L Hang...I pulled up and realized I could do an L hand with PULLUPS! wild right...again, I'm 69! people just stare. Some want to know what I did to progress. It's not a beginner move. It is dedication to improve the back muscles before you even start. you need to increase the rage motion of the shoulder joint and strengthen the scapula...It wasn't til I could do a few consistently that I realized the First movement IS the scapula, then the arms. Its so much easier when you learn this. It's key. Yes ABS too it's all part of the same body right. When I started core strength everything changed. Again. I'm 69

Heyyy! I loved the video! Bro, I'm studying sports science and I would like to know if you had any literary recommendations to share about these Gironda push-ups, based on their biomechanics (like electromyographic studies, for example)
Hey! Nothing available, you would need to look at vertical pull and rows and then conclude from there. Not the same, but at least some data to start with
Hello, Gironda pull up with the samekind of grip as is used in the chin up movement - using bar when doing the exercise. What do you think does it make it a different exercise, does it still train for example the lower and middle part of the traps?
Hallo, i do 6 reps gironda pull up should i add some weights with no problem in my lower back or just continue with bodyweight version? thanks man for ur usefull contant
@@MichaSchulz thank you for answering! for example could I mainly use chin-ups as a vertical pull and gironda pull up as a 'horizontal' as the 2 main back movements?
It looks harder than regular pull up lol I need help cause I recently started calisthenics I’m use to weight lifting but I can do damn near every basic calisthenics exercise but when it comes to pull-ups can only do like 3 and gas out after that
Looks like an okay variation. It's essentially half a standard pull up and half a row. Honestly, I'd just do a set of pullups/pulldowns and a set of rows.
IMO hollow body pull up teaches you the correct body alignment for muscle up. And high pull ups are the next level of hollow body pull up because it requires more explosiveness. High pull ups teaches you the pull part of the muscle up.

I gotta start messing with these. Did a couple before and loved them
Such an underrated exercise used by bodybuilders also such us Arnold its a bread and butter for back growth
Also pretty hard

This variation invented by the iron guru, has both a pulling and rowing motion, which engages maximum muscles in the overall back and lat.
try this with 1 ring only and a supinated grip. it feels so good
Die sehen einfach so effektiv aus. Muss ich unbedingt in mein Training einbauen. Geiles Video 🔥
Danke für die Übung

Hi Micha, great content! From your personal experience, what builds the lats/wide back better: the Gironda Pull-Up or Hollow Body Pull-Up?
Not a too big difference:)
thanks. I will try the rings version tomorrow!
Although it's a bit difficult, you can still practice step by step through the rubber belt.
Very good video Michael! Very useful information too. If I am right this is an advance variation of the arched back pull up?
Yes basically
Excellent video
Perfect to build mass during quarantine
Gonna try this to help my scapular winging
Probably not a smart idea, as this will drive more posterior rib cage compression. Reaching exercises are probably a better choice
@MichaSchulz what about sports massage or tissue manipulation?
Most likely useless as well ✔️
What do you mean by reaching exercises, any examples ? Thank you sir 🎉
Did some compression breathing with foam roller blocking one side of ribs. Seemed to help alot
Damn this makes perfect sense, and this exercise must be a motherfucker in terms pumping your whole back and traps with blood and contraction
Oh believe me, it is. I have never grown as much in width and thickness by any other movement. This pullup will have you look like yujiro
Oh that looks beastly difficult with rings. I will try it!
saludos de Colombia, buen contenido
If I may add the gironda pullup is pulled to below belly button and hip bones
I'm doing these tomorrow!
How do you build up to this if I can do normal pulls ups but not these
Supinated chinup to lower chest
Do bodyweight or barbell pulls and concentrate on squeezing (retracting) your scapulae. They develop scapular strength a lot better than pull-ups.

Is a Gironda pull up easier or harder than an advanced tuck front lever pull up?
can i use a towel instead of that thing?
Sure just try 🤝
Hallo, i do 6 reps gironda pull up should i add some weights with no problem in my lower back or just continue with bodyweight version? thanks man for ur usefull contant
Adding weight works 💪🏻
does it replaces rows?
it's almost a row, so you could use it that way
@@MichaSchulz thank you for answering! for example could I mainly use chin-ups as a vertical pull and gironda pull up as a 'horizontal' as the 2 main back movements?
Yes could work if you have the capacity to do this
@@MichaSchulz thank you!
Fingers clasped method ok if I don’t have triangle attachment?
Not sure what that method means
Will I be able to do them if I can do 12 regular pull-ups?
Just try

Me too
this looks like good training for ring a bar muscle ups too
Absolutely not. Hollowbody or high pull ups are much better for the MU.

yuh!!

next is Gironda Dips! ty!
Already online for years :D
@@MichaSchulz alright! time for me to learn new information

You'd better look like this dude if you expect me to listen....
Not really a pull up then, but more of a pullover into a row
