The looks on the kids faces are very funny. Some are memorized "like coooool" others have a look of "WTF am I watching" flinching and wincing with every swing of the knife lol
Handsome! nice to watch! I am from Russia and we are at the very beginning of the path of knife culture! Thank you for showing your competitions and we take an example from you! Once again Thank you very much! I'll try to save up for materials and make a knife like your best athletes.
The overall length of the knife cannot exceed 15 inches (38.1 centimeters). The blade cannot exceed 10 inches (25.4 centimeters) in length or 2 inches (5.08 centimeters) in width. The handle cannot exceed 5 inches (12.7 centimeters) in length. _For safety:_ The handle must have at least one visible pin and one secure lanyard hole, with a sturdy wrist lanyard being used at all times.
Are you allowed to have different grindsd of different sections of the blade. E.g. 22degrees on the 4inches neat the end of the blade and say 17 degrees toward the ricasso?
That is a great question. According to Jimislash, "You could, but I don't see the purpose. You could have different grinds for the blade, but I haven't heard about the edge."
They all use custom knives that fit the rules. One of the competitors is a UA-camr named Jimislash. He is sponsored by Coldsteel. He may be the only one that has created a mass produced knife for competition. www.coldsteel.com/jimi-slash-competition-chopper/
1st onlooker with custom knife envy watching the guy at 28:05 - geez, this guy's a total hack 2nd onlooker with custom knife envy - whaddya talkin' 'bout . . . he's definitely a cut above 1st onlooker - nah, the guy that went second's got the edge on him 2nd onlooker - making a comparison like that is really cutting it close 1st onlooker - there's no 2 ways to slice it 2nd onlooker watching the lady at 29:58 - there'd never a dull moment at one of *_HER_* parties 1st onlooker - yup . . . you'd better keep yer eyes open and stay sharp the whole time 2nd onlooker - and after all that, you'd think the award ceremony woulda been a little more exciting . . . insteada so dull 🔪 🤣

I think Sarah should've been winner of the whole thing.
What happened with the first guy?
Unfortunately, his lanyard broke. I believe they call it an Osborne safety lanyard. It wraps around the wrist in case the competitor loses their grip.
Everyone tried chopping through the knots in their boards lol
I’d like to see oj Simpson run this course
😅
