Your mum is just so delightful! Watching you both together warms the cockles of my heart. Thank you for this gorgeous festive video
Re-watching this to put me in the festive spirit. Such a joy to have these videos to watch and rewatch all through the year.❤️
We got a fire in the fireplace, festive drinks and are giving the folding the stars a try.
Oh brilliant! xxx
I started a Christmas playlist so I can watch this every year! It absolutely warmed my heart, and I love it when your Mom has a cameo :)
Oh that's so lovely of you to say - thank you :) xxx
Popped into my Christmas playlist today 😍 to start getting in the holiday spirit 🎄🎄🎄
What a charming video. Great way to kick start the Christmas season 🎄
Your biscuits looked a treat, not demented at all ☺️.
Wow, the stars are very clever, your teaching skills shone through, I might give them a go, I’m a bit cack handed but with such a clear and patient tutorial I’m going to at least give them a try 🤣.
Love the tree, very whimsical, I’m with you on the colour scheme, red, green and gold, I couldn’t imagine going with anything else.
Those books, the lights and the tree, what a great way to start and end the day 😍🎄
Haha thank you so much, Karen! The stars are definitely worth giving a go. Once you’ve done a few they’re much easier!! I hope you’ve got a wonderful December ahead of you ☺️🎄
The origami stars look fun to make and your bedroom is beautiful! The tree turned out very pretty! I hope someday you give us a tour of your home the rooms that I have seen are so beautiful!
Thanks very much! Our home isn't that big so I think most of it has been shown in my videos already, but there will certainly be more of it in vlogs 😊 xxx
Miranda - that was just so lovely! Thank you for sharing your decorating with us. The little tree looks so pretty with its origami stars, baubles, beads & other ornaments! I love having birds on my tree too! This year I’ve just put up a smaller artificial tree as the building I live in doesn’t allow real trees but it’s very cheery & there are a number of birds on it. Always wonderful to see your Mum in your videos! The cookies looked very yummy too! Thanks again! 🎄🐦
Thank you so much, Cheryl! Yes, it's so lovely to have birds on the tree. I do love them! Your tree sounds beautiful too. Enjoy the start of the festive season 😊 🎄
A lovely video to start the festive season and what a wonderful room, perfect room for reading Jane Austen, looking forward to spending more time with you and your mum, you’re so both lovely. So glad I discovered your channel. 😊
Thank you very much, Sue! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! You’re right - it really is the perfect room for reading Jane Austen ☺️❤️📚
I enjoyed your reading of the poem - please do more. I loved your reading of PG Woodhouse in another video which had me hoping you would do more. Your brooch is beautiful and looks terrific with your red dress. I always make Christmas cookies and used to make gingerbread houses. Thanks for the inspirations and bringing back some good memories.
Thanks very much! I read favourite extracts , poems etc every Friday 😊
What a great idea--a table-tree for a small household! I should totally do that if I can find one next normal year...I was looking for a small one in a pot where the company comes back to take it and plant it, but they don't do small trees:/
I often did this in London when I had a tiny flat! We’re planning to plant this one outside ourselves this year 😊🌲
Hello Miranda, greetings from the Netherlands! I love your vlogs and here too we bake biscuits and put icing on it. I also love your bedroom and your wallpaper is so beautiful. Please keep doing these cosy vlogs and greetings to your lovely mum too.
Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Hope you're having a lovely start to December! xxx
Hi Miranda. Thank you for sharing this lovely video. The tree looks amazing an the gingerbread buiscuits look delicious!
Thank you so much, Julia! ☺️❤️🎄
What a perfect joyful tree Miranda! I’m going to give those stars a go😆 I hope I can manage it. Your room is beautiful and so full of Christmas spirit☺️
Thank you so much, Deb! I hope you have fun giving the stars a go 😄⭐️🎄
✨🥰...everything about this video, was a gift, seeing Donna (🥰🥰), the gingerbread cookies, the ornaments, the beautiful tree)...Miranda thank you so much 🥰💕 for this Cozy Vlog
Thank you for your lovely comment, Kiki! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) xxx
Thank you Miranda for another utterly charming episode. The reading, the baking, and all of the festive crafting and decorating had me grinning from ear to ear! And the surprise cameo from your Mum was the icing on the cake...or should I say cookie (which looked delicious by the way!) Shortbread and or Mincemeat tarts are usually our go to refreshments when decorating the tree. But I am inspired to add the gingerbread cookies to our goodie tray as well!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I"m so happy you enjoyed the video. We often have mince pies and sausage rolls (and mulled wine!!) for the main tree decorating, especially when I used to collect a few people round and have a tree decorating party. I do recommend the gingerbread men recipe though - it was fab! Have a wonderful December! xxx
Absolutely love ❤️ this. The Christmas tree is just as whimsical as you planned it to be and truly magical next to your bookcase. Love it all. Can’t wait to try origami stars ⭐️ and gingerbread (our favourite)
Thank you so much, Yumi! So happy you enjoyed it, and I hope you have fun giving the origami stars and gingerbread a go! xxx
Hi Miranda and Donna, well that was a real festive treat and timely too as I will be baking some gingerbread myself soon and will try the recipe you have linked, thank you. You won't want to leave your bedroom now it is absolutely delightful! Enjoy Vlogmas, we are so lucky you are filming for it, Teresa ❤️🌲❤️
Thank you so much, Teresa! I hope you enjoy the recipe too. You’re right - it’s hard to leave my room!! My mum and I both went up & sat in it last night just so we could look at the tree 😂 Hope you have a lovely December ahead of you! Xxx
Such a festive video, thank you both, it really made me want to put our tree up. Your little tree is perfect, Miranda, I love your stars and your vintage baubles, they looked like huge, old pearls!
Thank you so much Georgia! I’m looking forward to doing the big tree next 😂 The vintage baubles were one of our best charity shop finds - I just love them ☺️💕✨
Wonderful news! It is great that you are doing Vlogmas, thank you a lot for the origami tutorial!
Thanks so much! Hope you have fun doing the stars if you give them a go 😊⭐️
What a lovely surprise, Miranda! Another after work treat for me. Those origami stars are so beautiful, but I think I wouldn’t have the patience for more than one. :)) Your tree looks fabulous and So do the gingerbread biscuits. I adored the poem you read at the beginning and those beautiful images you showed. Perfect! Btw. A Poem For Every Winter Day arrived today and I love it. Xxx
Oh it arrived just in time Marion - that’s lovely! I’m enjoying having it by my bedside ☺️ So glad you enjoyed the video - thank you! ❤️🎄
Pure festive joy! Thank you so much for this 🥰
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
This vlog was wonderful! So many cool things! Your holiday books!!! And the poems! That bookshelf 📚 in your room!! Great idea!
Wonderful video, so lovely. I feel your HORROR, Miranda! I do NOT like coffee either. BLAH.
Especially when you’re expecting hot chocolate 😂 So glad you enjoyed the video, Julie! Thank you xxx
@@MirandaMills Exactly! Yikes.
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the warmth you brought into this video. I’m already inspired to make some gingerbread cookies myself. Thank you for sharing this delightful Christmas moment with us.🎄
Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and hope you have fun making the gingerbread cookies if you give them a go xxx
Thank you for sharing your festive tree trimming. I had to laugh when you picked up your mum's coffee and drank it by mistake! I like coffee myself, but if you don't like coffee you probably got a bit of a disappointment there as you were expecting hot chocolate. I also love the robin tablecloth when you were cutting out the gingerbread biscuits.
Thank you very much, Gail! It’s actually a robin teatowel from Thornback & Peel (love their stuff) xxx
Thank you for the info. I just checked out their website. They have some lovely designs. I am spending Christmas in Scotland (fingers crossed) and just might order some of those tea towels while I'm there!
This is the perfect video to kickstart December! Thanks so much. I'm saving to my list to watch again.
Oh that’s wonderful- thank you so much! ☺️❤️🎄
What a beautiful video Miranda! You inspired me to de decorate my tree. Those vintage and homemade ornaments are gorgeous!! 👌Your house seems so cozy and looks so beautiful, I know that you and your mother are never bore in that gorgeous place. 🎄📚😍❤️💚❤️💚Splendid video
Thank you very much, Gisela! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video 🎄 xxx
This was so magical! I am way too impatient to frost cookies. I just slap on some icing and start eating. :) My family made sugar cookies instead of gingerbread growing up, but I think I'll try some gingerbread cookies this year. We also have a family recipe called twists, a sour cream dough that is rolled out, sprinkled with vanilla sugar, and folded several times, cut into strips, twisted and baked. They're so yummy! Your tree looks fairy tale like!
Haha I don't blame you about the frosting, Elizabeth! Sugar cookies are delicious too, and your 'twists' sound amazing! Hope you have a fabulous month ahead! xxx
What a lovely start to December- thank you Miranda and Donna:)
So glad you enjoyed it- thank you ☺️ 🎄
I love the pretty tree and the homemade stars, but my favorite was that festive bookcase!
Thank you! 📚 🌲
This was perfect cosy viewing this evening, so a huge thank you- the perfect accompaniment with a hot drink tonight! Also, I have literally just ordered some Elizabeth Harbour ornaments for my tree and, luckily, I managed to secure one of the Jane Austen/dolly ornaments; I am very excited to receive them soon 🌲 I hope you are enjoying sitting by your very beautifully decorated tree tonight with some hot chocolate x
Oh I’m so happy you have some of her ornaments on the way! I think they’re utterly charming (especially ‘Jane’ 😄). So glad you enjoyed this video - thank you! ☺️🎄❤️ xxx
Now I’m excited to start my decorating. Thank you for the inspiration.
Brilliant! Enjoy 😊 🎄
I think you are incredibly brave to attempt icing on camera! I love the idea of a bedroom tree, although I suspect my cats would love the idea a wee bit too much. This was so fun--thank you!
Haha it was definitely a challenge 😂 Thanks so much, Pamela - really glad you enjoyed it! ❤️🎄
Loved this! The wallpaper/painted walls ? in your bedroom are truly breathtaking!
Thank you so much! 💛
@@MirandaMills Is it painted walls or wallpaper? If it is wallpaper I would love to know what they are called. So beautiful!
What a wonderful way to start the festive season and always happy to see your mum in your videos! Oh and thank you for the recipe! ☺️🙏🏻✨
Thanks very much! So glad you enjoyed it ☺️🎄

I loved this vlogmas video! It made me smile so much! My husband and I are going to try making those stars. They look like a lot of fun. I am a huge fan of gingerbread men - I'm going to try and find a vegan version if I can. So yummy and cute! Your tree is adorable and your entire room is brilliant. The wallpaper is gorgeous and you must spend a lot of time admiring it. Thank you for sharing such holiday happiness! :D (P.S. Warm hellos to your mom!)

Thank you! They're old Mark Hearld cards; sadly I don't think they're still available as I bought them years ago xxx
Oh I love his work! I first came across it in a children’s book but I really have my eye on his prints now. X
Yes, he’s so talented! I love his prints too 😊
Thankyou so very much Miranda. Once again the fine attention to the right detail, your genuine love of what you do and your generous spirit shine through. This was so inspiring and full of the real magic and whimsy of Christmas. Your little tree in your divine bedroom must be so lovely to wake to every morning.
