I wouldn't say it was THAT unexpected. There was 2 Piranha-Plant-themed Tour tracks left and they never said they would preserve ALL Tour tracks in the same game. That would be the perfect occasion to put PPP in the next game, they would still "preserve" it.

Of course, it's my favorite Tour track that gets scrapped. It's annoying though, if all Tour tracks weren't gonna come in, why did they cram them into every wave, and why was Sky High Sundae added but not Pipeline? We all thought every Tour track was 100% coming, but now we could've gotten better tracks instead of Paris Promenade, Tokyo Blur, London Loop, and Sky High Sundae. I still got DK Mountain and all the picks are great tracks, but it's annoying thinking about it.
MK7 is my favorite mario kart game and Rosalina Ice world is my 3st favorite track of the game i was sad 3ds track stopped to wave 3 but i haved still a hope for a new 3ds track came. Someone saying to me ahahaha 3ds track never come back to bcp.... And i'm happy to never lose hope before, now even if a lot of people are disappointed of this choose i finally got a 3ds track after rainbow road.... Moonview certainly took that GCN track's place (assuming it was Mushroom Bridge). If it wasn't that track specifically, then it was Daisy Circuit. Rosalina's Ice World without a doubt in my mind was the track they picked over Pipeline, not the second GCN track.

I didn't call "Per se" that Pirahna Plant Pipeline would be cut, but in a different video about the W6 discussion I did comment that it was odd to have 2 Pirahna Plant-Coded tracks on the same wave, so only one of them making the cut wouldn't be as unlikely. And, between the two, I said that Pipeline was less likely to make the cut because we already have the Pipeway track, and concepts would overlap twice (Two Pipe-Related and Piranha-Coded tracks on the game, and two Piranha-Coded tracks on the same wave) I used the same reasoning of Concept Overlap to predict that Mushroom Bridge wouldn't make the cut (Two City-Coded tracks with just 1 wave of difference, the other one being Moonview Highway). Because of this I also thought Dino Dino Jungle would make the cut because DK Mountain overlaps twice with other tracks (We already have a Summit descent gimmick present in a DK-coded track that was on the BCP, DK Summit; we also already have a Jungle-Themed DK-Coded track being DK Jungle) but it didn't work that time.

There were way too many tour tracks in the BCP and they started getting repetitive, I'm kinda disappointed that the 1 tour track that was cut from the BCP was a nitro instead of a city track. They could've cut some of the city tracks for a future mario kart, and give us other fan favorites (I'm looking at Airship Fortress and Mushroom Bridge).
I'm just here in the corner still sad that I'm gonna have to wait for the remaining three Rainbow Roads to get remade. GBA Rainbow Road naturally has the most potential (because of originally being a flat track, like all other GBA tracks.) Wish we got it earlier in the BCP... Same with DS and GCN Rainbow Road. Imagine the graphics...

Though I do think that there will be one last cup after blue shell cup, containing toad’s factory, wario colosseum, piranha plant pipeline, and the very last track being airship fortress. That would make the game have a perfect 💯 tracks, and also another credits scene when completing every dlc cup in Grand Prix. Don’t know if that’s expecting a bit too much but it would be cool to see that.
You don’t have to trust the leaks. But you can’t deny EVERY TRACK IS PORTED FROM TOUR. The evidence is right there if you looked up what tracks Tour has. For this reason they wouldn’t do Wario Colosseum. Obviously
I've heard that the reason Piranha Plant Pipeline wasn't added is maybe cause the European version of Piranha Plant Slide had the similar name as PPP, so Nintendo probably thought it would be too confusing for two tracks to have almost the exact same as each other. But again, I'm 100% sure if that's the cause, though.
Tbh Pipeline isnt a huge loss especially since it might have a lot of overlap with the other piranha tracks anyways so it could have been a little much. It could be saved for the next game as a retro with less similar tracks around it in the same game. This last wave gave the 3ds one more surprise track, the wii getting two is maybe a little much, SNES got a makeover, GCN got the better jungle track and the tour tracks are expected with another nitro course in Cove. Pipeline is also a bit glitchy ive heard so maybe if its in the next game it can have more time to be worked on and to work effectively and with people moaning about tracks like Luigi's Mansion and Airship Fortress not getting in, i dont mind it since i dont need every 7 track to be in 8 as well although they could have swapped Koopa Cape out potentially plus it gives you tracks for 9 to be remade and while i prefer tracks that havent been remade at all before 2nd or 3rd remakes it might be a open field
It only makes sense to add ONE Piranha Plant track to Wave 6. Piranha Plant Pipeline is WAY too similar to 3DS Piranha Plant Slide (named Piranha Plant Pipeway in Europe). Rosalina finally has her own track. We should be happy!
@ac3inater there are a couple of okay ones! At first I was all for the laps being different or taking different paths on certain laps but now that we have a bunch of tracks in 8d using that gimmick, I just really do not like it. On top of that, there isn't any memorable tour tracks that I can name off my head. The one thing I hope that comes from tour in the next game is outfits for the characters, I think that it'd be nice to have like 1 or 2 extra outfits for each character

Actually Mushroom Bridge was scrapped after Waluigi Stadium was pushed to Wave 4.
The other options were another jungle track with the same music or a Flower Cup starter, so I don't think they had much room for choice here.

Pipeline is also a bit glitchy ive heard so maybe if its in the next game it can have more time to be worked on and to work effectively and with people moaning about tracks like Luigi's Mansion and Airship Fortress not getting in, i dont mind it since i dont need every 7 track to be in 8 as well although they could have swapped Koopa Cape out potentially plus it gives you tracks for 9 to be remade and while i prefer tracks that havent been remade at all before 2nd or 3rd remakes it might be a open field
Maybe Pirhana plant pipeline will come in wave 7

It only makes sense to add ONE Piranha Plant track to Wave 6. Piranha Plant Pipeline is WAY too similar to 3DS Piranha Plant Slide (named Piranha Plant Pipeway in Europe). Rosalina finally has her own track. We should be happy!

@ac3inater there are a couple of okay ones! At first I was all for the laps being different or taking different paths on certain laps but now that we have a bunch of tracks in 8d using that gimmick, I just really do not like it. On top of that, there isn't any memorable tour tracks that I can name off my head. The one thing I hope that comes from tour in the next game is outfits for the characters, I think that it'd be nice to have like 1 or 2 extra outfits for each character

I've only played Pipeline once tbh. So I honestly can't tell you that much. But it's just more weird to me that it's not here... Like there could've been other cities and nitros cut too. For more fan favorites 🤷🏻♂️
