    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
On 2nd of September 2022, the Prime Minister of India unveiled the new Naval flag on INS Vikrant and this flag bears the seal of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj himself!!! Why?? because Chattrapati built one of the most extraordinary naval fleets in Indian history! and this navy was so powerful that it sent jitters down the spines of brits and Portuguese who were trying to control our coast line since the 17th century itself! and legends have it had it not been for Chattrapati we would have been looted by the brits for another 200 years extra!!!
So if you are deeply curious and fascinated by the case study of Chhatrapati shivaji maharaj, lets go deep in and try to understand??
What was so special about Chhatrapati’s naval strategy that he is being honoured even after 340 years of his existence?
How did he the lay the foundations for the powerful Maratha empire?
and most importantly, what are business lessons that we need to learn from this legendary king of India?

Having grown up in Mumbai, I've been fortunate enough to see and visit many of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's forts and also visit museums to understand him and his way of running the kingdom. I must say the more I learn, the more I am in awe. He represents Maratha intellect and valour. Marathas are brave people. I can only imagine how things must have been back then. The topography of the land is really unforgiving. No wonder many who tried to enter, lost. Tales of his guerilla warfare are legendary. Nobody could touch him in that aspect. I just wish we get more of such great people in India. They will take our country to such great heights. If we had him now, none of our neighbours would have dared to touch us. His intellect and understanding of warfare, combined with today's intelligence and armed forces and weapons. We would have been invincible even with smaller armed forces than china

As Maharashtrian i am and I'll always be proud to say that he was our King our chatrapati. Most of us get emotional when we see videos like this, Thats because while growing up our parents our grandparents our teachers told many stories about him. So every Marathi boy or Girl was attached to him from their childhood. He was रयतेचा राजा that means people's King. People so hope in him that time and he saw family in them. Nothing has changed from past 400 years. Chatrapati is still alive in our hearts. He is still alive in our grandparents and parents stories. He still give us a hope. He still give us motivation to achieve extra ordinary with an excellence. As a Maharashtrian and Marathi and kokni i am and i always be proud that I have born in this punya bhumi of Maharashtra where chatrapati born and ruled his kingdom. Shivaji Maharaj was the first king to sense a threat of Brits and Portuguese. That's why he constructed a strong navy and held the foreign invaders for more than century. beginning the Kokan coast was infested with the English, Portuguese and the Dutchs, also the
Siddhi of Janjira was very powerful and a sworn enemy of Maratha. To prevent this foreign
enemies and overthrow them out of our mother land, a navy was essential. This was the

Why people are fighting on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Raja Raja Cholas?
Everyone knows that Cholas have greatest naval army. I have so much respect for them to increase trade route through ship and spreading influence of Sanatan Dharma into eastern world. As a Marathi, i have proud of all these warriors.
Now, chhatrapati shivaji maharaj is celebrated today for Navy. It is because he built Naval Army during modern times when we have threats like British, Dutch, and Portuguese. It was a civilization threats for us. He built it from scratch and it was new thing for modern world.....if you watch this video, you know that Chhatrapati have no knowledge of Naval fleet and yet, he built Naval Army that protected India from British rule for another 200 years..........
it is actually big thing for Modern times......... that's why Army used his Naval Seal........... I hope that Government used Cholas symbol for Naval Army. I really wanted to learn about Cholas on how they have built Naval Army. Even bigger than so called "Great British and France". If we started celebrating the Cholas in Mainstream World and spread their beautiful and, strong kingdom to whole world. It would pay huge respect to them 😀.
Also, i have grudge and disappointment from all my Telugu, Tamil or Malayalam brothers and sisters.... specially Tamil brothers and sisters.
Why don't you people have big celebration on Cholas empire. I searched online and i found that Rajendra Cholas's birth anniversary will be celebrated as government holiday in 2021.....
    Seriously?
The mighty king gets this respect in 2021. I don't know why no one is having big celebration regarding these warriors in Tamilnadu. Why does it takes so many years to make movies on them? You celebrate Periyar and so many others but no celebration for Cholas.
I mean if Tamil people in mass number don't flaunt about Cholas. Then, how will we know about them?
Please don't make these fights into Aryan or Dravidian. It will create further divide. Please celebrate every kings as own people.
🙏🙏 Humble request to have big celebration on birth anniversary of Raja Raja Chola and Rajendra chola. I personally wanted to celebrate Cholas in New Delhi 👑❤️💪🙇🏾‍♂️

@@perambu3441 You seem to have reading many wrong history. Shivaji Maharaj break dark period of Muslim rule. If you look at history after collapse of great vijaynagar empire (1565) there was constant rule of muslims from north to south. There was no local king that unites sardars(local war leaders) so these sardar just worked for muslims kings of bijapur, ahmadnagar, govalkonda and these muslim started scheme that one who wins some land for muslims will get jahagir (piece of land which used for fulfilling their expenses in short they were main lord of that land from Muslim king). So sardar started fighting eachother on behalf of muslims kingdom. Shivaji maharaj's grand father was also a sardar. After him Shivaji Maharaj's father Shahaji Maharaj was also a sardar but remember he was first who thaught that we are wasting our blood in war for the invaders so he attempted an unsuccessful attempt to rebel against invaders .He was unsuccessful because when he rebelled against muslims all muslims kings (Mughals from north and Adil Shah from bijapur)come together and suppressed the rebel. So he decided to fulfill his dream through his second child (Shivaji Maharaj) so he started his training from childhood under jijabai( mother of shivaji maharaj) She was so strong women that she lived apart from her husband just to fulfill dream of Swaraj. Shahaji Maharaj was sent to Karnataka by Adil Shah just to keep him away from his people so he can not rebel again. Meanwhile shivaji maharaj ones visited bijapur and also spend time in destroyed vijaynagar just to get inspiration from glorious history when he was just about teenager . After that he collected mens in maval(region of maharashtra) started training and exploring terrains of sahyadri. At age of 16 he take oath with his men in mahadev mandir (raireshwar) and in 1646 he captured torna fort at age of 16 only. So he started swaraj in 1646 and his death was in 1680. He did rajyabhishek in 1674 on demand of jijabai and diplomats just to show world that there is hindu king in Bharat for protecting hindus, and this land will be freed from invaders. His death was in 1680 and you giving some odd number 1687? He was not wealthy as Muslim rulers he did not had that large number of army also but he was great diplomat and strategist so he always made enemy to come to weakest position using mountain terrain of maharashtra during his rising period. Also used policy of one opposition at one time because he had lack of resources so he initially focused on Adil Shah's territory until he doesn't started full fledged war against Mughal. But as soon aurangjeb was claimed Mughal crown he started war against shivaji maharaj as he knew possible future threats so he sent his Mama shaista Khan to Pune when shivaji maharaj was trapped in panhala by bijapur sardar siddi Johar. This all information was given to you just because giving you a short idea about geopolitics of that time . Now we will focus on navy ..why shivaji maharaj was called father of Indian Navy not the other kings cholas ..pandyas... even Gupta has navy but that was mostly for trading and travelling but great cholas used navy for spreading empire. And that's fact that at that time there was no match for the chola army they conquered south east and spread Indian culture with pride. For your kind information in Maharashtra luckily and proudly we were taught all about history from Sindhu vally civilization to formation of maharashtra at various standard. With proper mentioning our state board book of class 7 th and 11 th have great range about ancient Bharat dynasty.we were taught about cholas ..pandyas, maurya , Gupta, saatvahan( special mention of gautamiputra satkarni) ,pallav, vakatak ,chalukya, rashtrakut etc . We were taught about cultural impact of cholas to south east also the majestic temples from all kingdoms at thier respective time periods. So basically when I studied 7th about naval power cholas then I got question about why shivaji maharaj called as father of Indian Navy? So after some reading about Indian Navy and paying special attention to timeline of naval power at time of shivaji maharaj it is clear that it was shivaji maharaj who reformed ,restructured his navy to take control of Indian sea from far modern navy of British, Portugese, Dutch, siddi from janjira ( they were from Africa). He founded factory for warships in modern way ,he engineered ships according to our indian Ocean, he fitted d canon firing platforms on ships, he countered European and siddhi by capturing or forming naval bases on the naval route or near naval bases of them. If you look naval basic operation during these time also it is not changed much.just warships become modern ,aircraft carrier submarines are used . Shivaji Maharaj army was so effective that they have control over trade of west coast. Even europian have themselves recognised naval superiority of maratha . These lines of father of Indian Navy is not started by Modi or BJP it was well before mentioned in Indian Navy documents and website. Now if you look at Great Cholas , they were power house at that time they have best navy at that time but if you look at structure of operations of thier navy and our present Indian naval operation structure it is different.Great Cholas conquered middle East using navy their main goal was expansion of Empire which was right at that time but today we have to use our navy mostly for controlling trade, to protect coast or establish naval base in Indian Ocean and in worst case it is used to dominate enemy or capturing their naval bases so it is most likely what I above mentioned about maratha army . If look at history and structure of navy and structure of operations the great Cholas are ti be called as founder or power source or inspiration of Indian Navy. As they were shown our ancient naval power so they should called founder or power source of the Indian Navy 🙏

Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was an intelligent king. There are many examples, but escaping from Agra and killing Afjal Khan are two of them. He always say " Shakti peksha ukti shresth " means " an Idea is greater than the Power " .
You will rarely find King like him.

People are fighting over chhatrapati shivaji maharaj and Raja Raja Chola.
Please understand the situations of both Empires.
Cholas are responsible for the golden age of India and spread influence of Sanatan Dharma in eastern world. They have build greatest naval army in the world. They have friendly relations with neighbouring sea route countries. They have got us sea route trade and made us powerful in Ocean.
Chhatrapati was born during tough times. He protected India from foreign invaders like Mughals in North, Nizam and Adil Shahi in south and British, Dutch , Portuguese in sea. He was ray of hope in darker times. He built Naval Army when he has no knowledge of Naval conquest. It was a big thing during that times of foreign rule.
If you are so considered about the title given to him. Let's solve this matter once for all.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - Father of Indian Navy.
Cholas - Father of Asian Navy.

It is not the work of BJP only. Everyone has their part to play. Many Tamil and Telugu friends of mine don't know about Chola. It is due to Communist ideology and Christian missionaries.
