I am getting ready to hit 62 years of age, just deadlifted 400 the other night, felt good to be able to do that, but then I consider this guy is SNATCHING what I am deadlifting....most people do not have a clue to what this man can really do, what a marvel he is. Alexeev never snatched this much in compettition.
Oh for sure... which is why after a brief inquiry his name was nowhere to be found on either youtube or any olympic lifting world record list. So...please, enlighten me. I always love studying the best of the best
Theres actually a dislike? Crossfit fanatic who probably snapped his knee during the Gertrude WOD; 400 pistol squats, 300 butterfly pull ups, 200 kettlebell swings, and 100 burpees. In under 10 minutes :)
WOW!! I crapped myself watching this... INSANE strength!! I simply loved the slo mo as I tried to learn the techniques used. But the Strength in this man.. IN-SANE!!
+Ryan N Yeah it was not his best competition when it comes to technique, esp. overhead. But search for his London performance. He is capable of clean lifting. Dont know why he was slighty off in the details here.
is not stability it's about getting the bar in line with his scapulas and mid foot/heels, if the bar is more forward than his scapulas he'll have to chase it, and same if his centre of gravity is at the balls of his feet, and his centre of gravity always moves back so he needs a little bit of extra power to get the bar back, getting the bar high enough won't be good enough to complete the lift
One of the most intense competitions I've ever seen. Had goosebumps watching
Slow motion and he still moves faster than me
:,D

I mean it's not like he's a champion Olympic athelete. Absolutely a fair comparison.
Ilya and Pyrros. The two that stand out to me

+Andy Butler nevermind, found him. Beasttt
+Andy Butler thats ridiculous
+Andy Butler just watched that snatch. Looked easy, like could have thrown another 20-30kg on there and still killed it
But he was 5kg heavier and lifters took more drugs back then as I heard. Also Ilya is still competing - maybe 250kg clean and jerk in Rio? ;)
I fuckin love Ilya
He's back in competition for 2018 worlds.

IIya's like "you can fight it but it's still gonna happen..." superhuman
Amazing footage....
Almost unbelievable that he mastered the 3rd snatch...
Legendary

It kinda looks like he's limited by his overhead stability. Everything looks flawless, until he has to lock out overhead.

+arpussupra Because this was heavy, in london he wasnt even pushed, same in Grozny
