Peter Cushing was an actor of great intelligence and surprising range who invested every role he undertook with that priceless attribute: believability. He made productions better simply by being in them. If he gave a bad performance on television or in films, I am yet to see it.
What a beautiful and moving tribute. I was born in Argentina in 1959 and grew up watching all those films from Hammer Studios plus the great classic Westerns from the 1940s and 1950s on Saturday´s matinées (4 films). This video brought back so many nice memories. Thanks to my father, who encouraged me to study English at an early age, I can now enjoy these wonderful films and videos while listening to the actors' and actresses' real voices. What a treat! Thank you so much for uploading this video! PS: Another wonderful actor who is no longer with us: Derek Folds, the unforgettable "Bernard" from "Yes Minister". Thanks for the memories!
I find it fascinating that some of the most iconic horror stars : Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing etc, were in reality very kind, loving and a joy to be around.... while some of the most loved comedians: Tony Hancock, Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jaques, had in fact much more troubled lives, some ending in suicide, and could sometimes behave like jerks. I watched the "Carry on" movies about the same time as I watched classical horror films. And I checked their biographies.
Yes, indeed. But I do believe Kenneth Williams sexual identity troubled in the context of the time made huge contributions to his sometimes difficult behavior...and he could ,and often was , extremely kind. John Le Mesurier was another superb, extremely kind man who was utterly betrayed by both Jaques and Hancock.
I got to meet Brian Reynolds and Phil Campbell at the Talking Pictures TV live event where they were promoting a book about Peter Cushing. They said that Richard Edwards was there too but I must've unfortunately missed him.
His horror work is justly famous, but I first saw him as an outrageous Osric in Olivier's Hamlet. The startling fall he takes off the edge of a ledge could not have been a stunt man.
Cushing and Lee have provided me with countless hours of pure enertainment, bless 'em both.
A true gentleman who adored his wife and was a shell when she died thanks for all the joy you brought us Peter with your great films bless your soul

Lovely doc and a lovely man

Brilliant thx
He’s right he does look evil 😂 but a great actor indeed.
If Whoopi Goldberg married Peter Cushing...she'd be called Whoopi Cushion....
